Verdicio Beach
Information
Verdicio Beach, located near Cabo Peñas, is a stunning destination famous for its wide sandy shores and beautiful dunes, making it a popular spot for surfers. Visitors have praised the spectacular sunsets, especially during low tide when the crowd diminishes.
However, the beach can get quite crowded during peak times and may be considered unsafe for those accustomed to Mediterranean beaches. Access to the beach is challenging, with poor road conditions and a need for caution while driving.
Pros:
- Beautiful scenery and sunsets
- Large parking spaces with a fee of 3€
- Close to chiringuitos for food and drinks
- Options for families with sandy areas and tide pools
- A variety of activities including surfing
Cons:
- Crowded during weekends
- Access roads in poor condition
- Limited amenities if not a customer at the chiringuitos
- Some reviews indicate disappointing service at local bars

Negative experience: The conservation is non-existent. Access is impossible, the road, if you can call it that, has potholes that haven't been repaired in years. Tremendous neglect.

Fantastic experience: It's a wild beach, the mountain drops down to the sea, a place to relax the mind. It has 2 quite acceptable beach bars with incredible views, even with performances in the summer. The last stretch to access the beach is a tricky peak but it's short and can be crossed safely. Large area for parking.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful. There is plenty of space to park for free as well as a beach bar at one end of the beach.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach. You can park in some large lots that are enabled as parking during the day for €3, right next to the beach. There are a couple of bars where you can have a drink or even grab some snacks. On weekends, you need to arrive early because it gets crowded.

Positive experience: Nice beach but dogs are not allowed from early May to the end of September

Positive experience: Very spacious beach, with coarse sand. Area with quite a slope to the sea that ensures there is always sandy space available even during high tide. Quite a few waves, with designated swimming areas to share the space with surfers safely. There are foot wash areas and two beach bars nearby. There are restrooms in the paid parking lot, when we went they were unclogging them so I don't know what their condition is. A good option for going with kids: there is a sandy area and another with rocks.
Positive experience: Very nice. Great dunes and sand. It has a shower and is quite large.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic beach. Even at high tide, there is still sand, and at low tide, some very beautiful rocky areas are revealed. There is plenty of parking. When we visited, there was a beach bar with reasonable prices and generous snacks at very reasonable rates.
Negative experience: The beach and the surroundings are very beautiful. That said, the access road to the beach is like something from a third-world country, with more holes than an Emmental cheese, it's a disgrace. There are two beach bars; the one further back, when I asked a question out of pure courtesy, responded to me rudely, and the one closest to the beach charged me an excessive amount for a tiny beer. And when I asked if I could please get some olives or something to snack on, he said yes, but for a price. It's a shame that these things continue to happen in Spain in the 21st century, but that's how it is. Nevertheless, the beach and the surroundings are lovely.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular sunsets, lots of sand, beach bar, great parking but narrow access where traffic jams occur.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful. There is plenty of space to park for free as well as a beach bar at one end of the beach.
Fantastic experience: Parking in the meadow for 3€ and beach bar. Close by, it's better to swim at low tide, at high tide it engulfs you on the shore.

Quite a few waves, with designated swimming areas to share the space with surfers safely. There are foot wash areas and two beach bars nearby. Negative experience: The beach seems nice, but you can't enter the beach bars unless you pay first to 'some people' without any official identification. We left very disappointed and without spending a €.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, surrounded by incredible scenery and with beautiful views. It is a wide beach, but as the hours go by, the tide rises. We had to move spots about 3 times. And then out of the whole beach, only a small part was open for swimming because the sea looks a bit dangerous. The good thing is that there are lifeguards. The only downside is that there are no restrooms, and those at the beach bar are exclusive for customers. They should put restrooms given the amount of people that visit there.

Fantastic experience: Very good, crystal clear water. I won't say more because I know it will get filled with people.
Fantastic experience: Titanic waves. It goes deep into the sea with every meter advanced and there are rip currents. It might be a bit dangerous but it's a beautiful beach. For a few years, it was very dirty. I will try to go this year to see if it's clean. It has always been one of my favorites.
Positive experience: Water temperature for the brave
Fantastic experience: It was a great beach day in October, there wasn't too many people, the water was amazing, it's a beach you have to go to no matter what.

Verdicio Beach: Reviews
Fantastic experience: A small but very nice beach. In summer it has a beach bar. Great for enjoying a short walk, especially with your pet. There are ducks on one of the sides at the back.
Negative experience: The conservation is non-existent. Access is impossible, the road, if you can call it that, has potholes that haven't been repaired in years. Tremendous neglect.

Fantastic experience: This place is spectacular. If you go with the van, you can sleep right in the cliffs area opposite Verdicio beach. I went in September and we didn't have to pay anything.
Fantastic experience: It's a wild beach, the mountain drops down to the sea, a place to relax the mind. Negative experience: Beautiful people
Fantastic experience: When the tide goes out and also the number of people (in the afternoon) it has a beautiful sunset.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, overcrowded and dangerous if you are used to the Mediterranean.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach. You can park in some large lots that are enabled as parking during the day for €3, right next to the beach. There are a couple of bars where you can have a drink or even grab some snacks. On weekends, you need to arrive early because it gets crowded.

Positive experience: You arrive with maps. It’s a bit confusing. It’s like dunes, so be careful with the car. There is an entrance and exit direction because the village has narrow streets.
Positive experience: Spectacular beach, just be aware that parking costs 3 euros.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches in Asturias, especially for watching sunsets
Positive experience: Very nice. Great dunes and sand. It has a shower and is quite large.
Positive experience: A super beautiful beach and it's not crowded at all. The only downside maybe is that to use the bathroom you have to buy something at the bar, but other than that everything is perfect.

Fantastic experience: Very good, crystal clear water. I won't say more because I know it will get filled with people.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular sunsets, lots of sand, beach bar, great parking but narrow access where traffic jams occur.
Fantastic experience: Excellent beach with fine sand and a grassy area, and good parking but it is paid.
Positive experience: Relatively crowded beach, wild coastline, great views. Don't take the first parking spot (a meadow). It costs €3. There are plenty of opportunities to park for free all around. Access via an unpaved, single-lane road with grown potholes.
Negative experience: Tenrrero Beach
Negative experience: Ideal beach for surfers with a good beach bar, but the access is full of potholes that haven't been repaired for a long time.
Fantastic experience: A nice walk and in good company...
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach and the luxurious surroundings
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach in a unique place with dunes and estuary. Spectacular.

Fantastic experience: At low tide, there is a beautiful beach, one of the prettiest I've visited.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular. Very beautiful the light of the sunset. Access is a bit complicated, but if you go on less busy days, you can easily park by the side, next to the bar, which is closed in winter. In winter, it is also allowed to bring dogs.
Fantastic experience: I repeat to take the beautiful route to the lighthouse. I stop at the Telefónica building. I cross the heath. I pass through Villa Maravilla. Impressive to eat there even with a reservation. I estimate about 12km. Few people.

Fantastic experience: A huge, quiet beach good for swimming or surfing, the access at the end of the path is a slope, easy access.
Positive experience: Super nice. Very clean, a bar with great views, a spot for campers. Ideal for families and young people, chillout beach bar. Everything is very good. The downside is its remote location, narrow roads, and sometimes a lot of traffic.
Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches I've been to. Parking is easy. There are some estates where the owner has set it up as parking lots and for only €3 (cars) or €6 (vans/campers) you can park your car all day. The restrooms cost €0.50, but you get a free ticket if you've purchased something from the beach bars. The sea is rough but it is wonderful. We loved it.
Fantastic experience: Natural beach where beauty can be observed especially on days with strong waves. The beach is enjoyed more by watching the waves break on the rocks and shore, due to its slope.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with a dune and a magnificent sandy area, where surfing can be practiced and which has good parking options, paid in the north area and free in the south area. Bar and beach bar to grab something to eat and a bench famous for the views at sunset.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place! Surfing, walking, get your sight lost on the horizon
Positive experience: Great beach had lots of fun
Fantastic experience: Like this beach. Nice to relax or climb about on some rocks.
