Information

Arenillas Beach is a hidden gem in Spain, renowned for its stunning scenery and vibrant atmosphere. It is favored by locals and visitors alike for a variety of activities.

  • Ideal for families: The beach is a perfect spot for family outings, with shallow areas suitable for young children and opportunities for snorkeling to see the small fish in crystal-clear waters.
  • Variety of amenities: Visitors can enjoy great service from the local staff and the convenience of nearby restaurants and cafes offering delightful meals throughout the day.
  • Natural beauty: Surrounded by lush vegetation and breathtaking views, this beach is a perfect escape into nature.
  • Surfing opportunities: With gentle waves, it is an exceptional place for beginners to try surfing.

However, it is important to note:

  • The beach can become quite crowded, especially during peak summer months, which might detract from its tranquil charm.
  • The tides play a significant role; at high tide, the beach may significantly reduce in size or disappear, making it essential to check tide times before visiting.
  • Parking can be challenging in the summer, particularly on weekends.

Overall, Arenillas Beach is a fantastic location to unwind and enjoy a variety of activities, making it a must-visit for anyone exploring the Cantabria region.

Fantastic experience: 7m MH on tour. Quiet place to park up along with maybe ten others but we were by far the largest unit, it is more suited to 6m and under we just got lucky and got a space on the end. Two lovely beaches, one with surf and lifeguards and no dogs. The other in the tiny unused harbour had no signs about dogs so we let ours off but always pick up after them. Found some beautiful sea glass.

Fantastic experience: It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy swimming. There’s a grassy area where you can sunbathe, and people swim and dive with their dogs. The surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning. Best of all, it’s never crowded, which makes it even better. Of all the places I’ve visited, this is definitely one of the best spots to swim and unwind.

Positive experience: Small beach, monitored, if there is high tide you are left without a beach. Surfing lessons and a lot of people in summer. Next to the camping and surf schools. Complicated parking in summer. Negative point: no pets allowed in summer.
