Es Portitxol
Information
Es Portitxol is a stunning hidden gem located on the stunning island of Ibiza. Though it's well-regarded for its breathtaking beauty and tranquil atmosphere, reaching the cove does require some effort. Visitors have noted:
- Pros: Gorgeous scenery, crystal-clear waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. It offers a peaceful escape from the crowded beaches typical of Ibiza. Many enjoyed the hiking trail that showcases beautiful views of the Mediterranean landscape.
- Cons: Accessibility is challenging; it involves a steep and uneven hike that can take up to 45 minutes to an hour. Some visitors experienced safety concerns with car break-ins and reported that the trail is not well-marked, leading to confusion. Additionally, jellyfish may be present during certain times of the year.
Overall, while the natural beauty and serene environment of Es Portitxol can make for an unforgettable experience, visitors should be well-prepared with proper footwear and plenty of water for the hike.

Fantastic experience: Keep the left and follow the path to reach the paradise, one of the best spot in Ibiza.
Fantastic experience: This place is stunning! Definitely worth the hike, it takes about 45mins each way, from the carpark, but the walk is nice, not too steep and the view is breathtaking.
Positive experience: Nice spot, secluded and beautiful. The access is really tough, bad path, must wear sport shoes!
Positive experience: I'm sure it's very beautiful. I couldn't go because it was too far; apparently, after parking the car, you had to walk for 1 hour. It was almost evening, so we decided not to go and turned back. That's why I gave it 3 stars.
Negative experience: We were traveling with two Fiat Puntos, and while we were at the beach, some things were STOLEN from the car. Apparently, this is a popular place for thieves. Otherwise, the beach is calm and the walk from the parking lot took about 25 minutes.

Positive experience: Ovviamente per i miei gusti e per le altre calette che ci sono sull’isola. Questa è scomoda da arrivarci, poca sabbia e tanti ciottoli e soprattutto molto piccola
Fantastic experience: Cove with crystal clear water, it is a stony cove, rubber shoes are necessary, there is a 30-40 minute walk from the parking lot to the beach, you start on a wide path and after the wall to your left, a trail leads to the beach.

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem, tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle of Ibiza. No road access but worth the 2km walk down to cove. Pebble beach great for swimming and snorkelling.
Fantastic experience: This really is one of the most beautiful places we've been, gorgeous like cove, very quite and pictureresk, a Long walk. down and we took the route to the right and followed the path down to bottom, take a snorkel and wear trainers.

Fantastic experience: Keep the left and follow the path to reach the paradise, one of the best spot in Ibiza.
Fantastic experience: Hidden cove with the pure charm of the island.
Fantastic experience: Super excursion in Ibiza. A place full of charm.
Fantastic experience: Enjoyable hike with breathtaking views along the way - very few people are on the hike route. It’s great for meditative walks and basking in nature’s energy. The hike up and down takes approximately 1.5 hours with rest stops.
Fantastic experience: This place is stunning! Definitely worth the hike, it takes about 45mins each way, from the carpark, but the walk is nice, not too steep and the view is breathtaking.
Fantastic experience: A dream
Positive experience: Nice spot, secluded and beautiful. The access is really tough, bad path, must wear sport shoes!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful walk. You can breathe in the freshness of nature. The walk takes about 25 minutes depending on the level. Hiking shoes are highly recommended.
Positive experience: I'm sure it's very beautiful. I couldn't go because it was too far; apparently, after parking the car, you had to walk for 1 hour. It was almost evening, so we decided not to go and turned back. That's why I gave it 3 stars.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place but very uncomfortable to walk.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular cove... not suitable for lazy and comfortable people... if you don't want to suffer, stay in your hotel's urine pool.
Negative experience: Unfortunately, we had a very negative experience during our last visit to the bay. Our car, a Fiat Panda, was robbed during our stay. Some things were STOLEN. Although the surroundings are picturesque and idyllic, we did not feel safe because of this incident. Be careful and do not leave any items in the car.
Negative experience: We were traveling with two Fiat Puntos, and while we were at the beach, some things were STOLEN from the car. Apparently, this is a popular place for thieves. Otherwise, the beach is calm and the walk from the parking lot took about 25 minutes.
Positive experience: Bring good shoes and enough water. Super chill, not overcrowded!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful bay, but a tough walk to get there. Clear water and local boat houses.
Negative experience: THEY ROB IN THE PARKING WHERE YOU LEAVE THE CAR, BE CAREFUL!!!!!
Fantastic experience: Super hidden cove to surprise visitors
Fantastic experience: A paradise !!!!! Count 30/35 mins to descend from the parking located at the top of the cliff, and a good 40/45 mins to go back up, and of course avoid flip-flops.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place for lunch, enjoying the fantastic view and sound of the sea. The hike is quite sturdy, so wear good walking shoes.
Fantastic experience: Hike worth taking... an incredible place.. Be careful, there are sea urchins on the rocks by the water.
Fantastic experience: An incredible and somewhat hidden place!
Positive experience: The hike towards the pebbly beach is nice and has great views. The beach itself is not too special though.
Fantastic experience: Very nice location with a crazy wide view! You have to walk 15-20 min from the parking place but it's worth it. Ps: You can't drive down by car.
Fantastic experience: Incredible
Positive experience: Beautiful walk to the bay. But... don't park by the curbs at the bottom of the road. We did, and when we came back our car was completely covered in green paint. Everything was covered, including all the handles. We spent hours trying to get it off! Super rude.
Fantastic experience: Prepare your sneakers before getting to this very nice little beach
Fantastic experience: Perfect for people who want some peace. Wear good shoes because it's a bit of a walk.
Negative experience: No accessibility; dangerous path and we arrived after an hour filled with jellyfish and boats playing loud music. What a shame.
Negative experience: Very tough walk. 40 minutes to go down and 60 to come back up. They steal in the parking lot, so don't leave valuable things. Wear proper shoes and bring bags to take the trash back up. Everything you take down, you have to bring back up. The neighbors in the development are not very friendly.
Fantastic experience: Cove with crystal clear water, it is a stony cove, rubber shoes are necessary, there is a 30-40 minute walk from the parking lot to the beach, you start on a wide path and after the wall to your left, a trail leads to the beach.
Positive experience: Hidden cove in Ibiza. 45 minutes down which then turned into more than an hour uphill. Path not safe in all sections and difficult to access. It's worth it if you come well prepared and with plenty of water. Crystal clear, clean water and tranquility... The reward for the physical effort.
Positive experience: It could be more accessible BUT it was worth it, loves it xx
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove but hard to reach. Good shoes necessary and plenty of water. At some point there is a big wall on the left of the road (see picture) , make sure you take the path that goes immediately left in the trees (there is a black arrow indicating it) otherwise you can still reach the water but there won't be any beach.
Fantastic experience: Defintely one of the most beautiful bays on the island, and probably one of the most private/hidden bays. But the descend, and especially the climb back, are not easy. Wear shoes (not flipflops), and bring enough water (especially when you go during a summer day).
Fantastic experience: Absolutely beautiful beach, and the walk down takes you through some beautiful mediterranean forest and past some stunning views. The water is the clearest I’ve seen in Ibiza and due to the secluded location of the beach we nearly had it all to ourselves. I would recommend that you wear at least trainers and bring plenty of water as the walk is at least 45mins each way in the Ibiza sun from the car park at the top (ample parking available). Look out for jellyfish however, and don’t bring along your friend with a fear of heights!
Fantastic experience: Hidden gem, tucked away from all of the hustle and bustle of Ibiza. No road access but worth the 2km walk down to cove. Pebble beach great for swimming and snorkelling.
Fantastic experience: What a wonderful hidden gem this is. We went on a sunny day in February. The walk was nice and not too hard. We wore normal sneakers and that was sufficient. The views on the way where great but the bay at the end of the walk, topped it all. I definitely recommend this experience.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful secluded cove, great for swimming. The beach is rocky and has very little shade other than the fisherman's huts. It's at 30m walk each way so wear shoes and pack lots of water. About 10m into the walk down there is a fork in the road. Make sure to take the smaller path on the left which looks like it goes upwards. Ignore the yellow arrow which points the wrong way!
Fantastic experience: This really is one of the most beautiful places we've been, gorgeous like cove, very quite and pictureresk, a Long walk. down and we took the route to the right and followed the path down to bottom, take a snorkel and wear trainers.
Positive experience: It's a nice hidden spot in Ibiza, if you go by car you'll have to do a little hike (2,5km down and back up) to get to the beach. The beach is full of rocks but it's very quiet and calm, worth visiting.
Positive experience: It's three kilometers down the hill to get there and same up to hill to get back, which is really not and easy way. Better to have normal shoes than flip flops. Beach is small with pebbles and bigger stones. Water is crystal clear. On the cost are boat houses and it makes an atmosphere of old place with history. It's really not for family trip with small kids unless you wanna baer them.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful secret beaches
Fantastic experience: Great hidden cove beach (pebble). About a 30 mins down hike from car park, at least 45 back up really steep but worth it. Very quiet and chilled. A few jellyfish so bring goggles to check water first.
Positive experience: Cozy bay...where u can anchorage ,beatiful place..north west island...good for chilling...
Fantastic experience: Quite bay, we took the wrong route, so it was a one hour mountain climbing walk. Well worth it. Only some boats and 2 others by foot.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful rocky beach where even in the busiest of seasons you can still find your invoice own spot of private beach. Walk down the zig zag path after parking your car as far as you can drive and then when you come to a plateau, take the smaller path off to the left which leads you around the cliff path and eventually down to the cove.
Fantastic experience: The spot is nice. Takes some efforts to reach it and get back by foot yet, the view is amazing. It's also quite a clean spot.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful hiking destination and beach. Worth the exploration
