Salinas Beach

Information

Salinas Beach, located near Avilés, is a stunning and expansive destination favored by surfers and families alike. Known for its clean sands and beautiful views, it stretches nearly four kilometers along the coastline, providing ample space for sunbathing, walking, and enjoying water activities.

Here are some highlights and considerations:

  • Great Conditions for Surfing: The beach is particularly popular among surfers due to its strong waves and numerous surf schools.

  • Ideal for Strolling: A long promenade runs along the beach, perfect for walking or jogging while taking in the picturesque ocean views.
  • Parking Convenience: While parking can be challenging during peak summer hours, there are areas available nearby.
  • Caution Advised: The beach can have strong currents, and bathers should adhere to lifeguard instructions regarding safe swimming zones.

Fantastic experience: Long and wide beach, especially when the tide is low, there is a lot of sand until you reach the sea. We were between the stair access points 4 and 5, coinciding with some public restrooms that are very useful. The sand is fine and there are large waves. There are large groups of surfers. At stair 3, you can access by ramp. Depending on the state of the sea, they warn you over the loudspeaker which areas are suitable for swimming. It's great to go with kids.

Fantastic experience: It's a beautiful clean place, with great waves and beautiful sand beach, I was comfortable leaving my belongings on a blanket to go in the water, a lot of families with kids, very safe, you take the train with direction Pravia and stop at Salinas, 15 min by foot and you're there, when you take the train back only get on it if it came from your right and it's driving to your left, otherwise you end you not in aviles

Muchos socorristas.

Positive experience: The place is a good option if you are living in Aviles and want to go relax on the beach. However, the place itself is not that great, there are not many facilities around, not many rentals, often places are closed and the water is not great due to its vicinity to the harbor.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy it every summer. This last time there was a lot of charcoal on the shore, and I hope the current dog access schedule to the beach is respected.

Fantastic experience: An authentic wonder, with a very pleasant promenade that goes from some amazing dunes to the open-air museum of the Anchors, dedicated to marine biologist Philippe Cousteau, who lost his life at a young age in a plane accident in the area.

Fantastic experience: It's impossible to park all summer long. The beaches are the best in Asturias. Please solve the problem as soon as possible, because the worst part is that we, the locals, cannot enjoy our own.

Positive experience: I loved the beach, but I was thrown out for bringing a small dog. There weren't many people, and it's already September.

Positive experience: Nice place, difficulty finding parking and there was no place to clean your feet when leaving. Other than that, a luxurious 10 beach.

Fantastic experience: Wide and long urban beach, one of the best in Asturias. Popular among surfers, family-friendly but be careful, it often has high waves and the area where it meets the beach of San Juan, to the right, is famous for its dangerous currents and strong undertow. It has bars along the promenade, showers, and free public restrooms.

Fantastic experience: It's a super cool beach... very spacious, clean, and well-maintained, it's a wave beach, there are surf schools and more, it has a promenade of about 10 kilometers, and at the end, there is a walkway through an anchor museum and more, which is all very nice for walking. I'm sharing some photos but I recommend it 1000%.

Fantastic experience: Magic beach, immense, also don't miss visiting on its left side as you look at the beach some small cliffs where the sea enters with force. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Negative experience: I don't know what's happening this year, but it seems like the most dangerous beach in Asturias. The lifeguards seem like police. Swimming zones of 20 meters for the entire beach, and they still come to you with a border to make sure you only go in up to your waist. What a way to ruin the few sunny days.

Fantastic experience: For me, the best one, it’s big you can walk a lot, (San Juan, Salinas), there are bathrooms, along the boardwalk you have places to wash your feet, throughout the promenade. A 10.

Fantastic experience: 5-star beach, touching paradise. Spacious, ideal place to walk and relax by the sea. With various areas, isolated spots for relaxation, limited zones for swimming, and a large part for surfing practice. I love the sunset in this place.

Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, you have to be careful with swimming as the waves are quite large, a good spot for surfing, the views are spectacular, there is a very nice viewpoint to the left, but it is a bit dangerous, especially for kids, you have to be very careful. But it is worth going to see it, I recommend it.

Positive experience: Difficult to park. It's a very large beach but depending on the tides, the swimming area can be small and it gets crowded. Used to more natural beaches in Asturias, the buildings spoil the vibe for me.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful and huge beach, everything is very well maintained and there are many access points. The viewpoint area has a structure that is a shame because it was closed.
