Fantastic experience: It's a magnificent beach, the sand is soft, there's practically no seaweed, and it's really cool when the tide goes out and an islet is created, and you have to swim to it if you want. There is a dog area, a super large parking lot, and there's always a guy who is satisfied with 50 cents. In conclusion, it's a great beach to spend as much time as you want.
Negative experience: I give one star so that the Town Hall maintains a few meters of beach with access for pets. Not too many kilometers so that a few meters can be given up for the dogs to enjoy. And we are responsible for them and their waste. YES TO MAINTAINING DOG ACCESS!!!
Negative experience: The access for disabled people is in poor condition, there are no bins or containers for trash, many cigarette butts, and to top it off, it's full of dogs that make it impossible to enjoy the beach.
Fantastic experience: Very good location, you can park well during the week and it is a clean and very long beach
Fantastic experience: Easy access by car, watch out for the sand, cars get stuck.

Negative experience: Horrible beach, terribly dirty...pet friendly, but unfortunately dog owners throw the bags of waste anywhere. Not to be repeated!

Negative experience: We went to this beach yesterday, July 24th, and as soon as we arrived, a lady got up from her umbrella and told me that it was no longer suitable for dogs, that they were issuing fines, and that we should look for another beach (I noticed she really didn't like dogs) so I decided to go talk to a guy who was there with his dog. He told me that they didn’t know anything about it being prohibited for dogs (there were many more people with their dogs) and he hadn't seen anyone issuing fines, so I decided to stay. No one came to fine us or anything like that. If it’s true that they have banned dogs, I want to let you know that it's humans who dirty the beaches, not dogs. I don’t find it fair at all. This is what I found when I went into the sea.

Positive experience: Nice beach with fine sand and calm water. In the afternoon they play music at the beach bar and it feels good.
Negative experience: Beach with parking, clean and with beach bars but no lifeguards. Important notice! When the sun sets, mosquitoes come out and bite your whole body, it doesn't matter what clothes you wear because they get through them, you feel the bites and you can bathe in citronella which is useless, in fact there were mosquitoes resting on the boat and nothing.
Fantastic experience: The beach is great. Clean with showers for you and your dog, and spacious. With a nearby beach bar. Honestly, it's one of the best I've seen.
Fantastic experience: The Alma beach bar restaurant has lost a chef, and the crispy spinach and prawn salad is no longer what it used to be; it wasn't crispy, too much oil, and the pieces of prawns were hard to find. They promised to improve that issue. Good luck because they are really good.
Fantastic experience: Very extensive beach between Portil and Punta Umbria, it has a couple of beach bars where you have a shower, and if you are lucky you find the restroom working. It has ample space for parking, fine sand but when the tide is low there are quite a few sea shells. Ideal for going with children, I went for two days and one of them the water was super cold until 5 PM when it was acceptable, but high waves started and two days later it was great from 10 AM with no waves until around 7 PM. We flew a remote-controlled airplane, played volleyball, etc., super pleasant.

Bota Beach: Reviews

Positive experience: Semi-wild beach
Fantastic experience: Very good
Fantastic experience: Very good
Positive experience: Good beach, close, family-friendly, with clean and calm waters.
Positive experience: Was very beautiful
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach
Negative experience: One star because they decided to not allow dogs there anymore.
Negative experience: I give one star so that the Town Hall maintains a few meters of beach with access for pets. Not too many kilometers so that a few meters can be given up for the dogs to enjoy. And we are responsible for them and their waste. YES TO MAINTAINING DOG ACCESS!!!
Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches in Spain
Negative experience: Horrible beach, terribly dirty...pet friendly, but unfortunately dog owners throw the bags of waste anywhere. Not to be repeated!
Negative experience: The access for disabled people is in poor condition, there are no bins or containers for trash, many cigarette butts, and to top it off, it's full of dogs that make it impossible to enjoy the beach.
Negative experience: I'm warning you. There are no waves. There are no buses. There are no chicks.
Fantastic experience: Nice beach, many motorhomes
Fantastic experience: Very good location, you can park well during the week and it is a clean and very long beach
Positive experience: Nice beach with fine sand and calm water. In the afternoon they play music at the beach bar and it feels good.
Fantastic experience: Beach with fine sand and clear water.
Fantastic experience: Easy access by car, watch out for the sand, cars get stuck.
Fantastic experience: Simply great as long as you find parking, there's a bar with a bathroom nearby.
Fantastic experience: From Seville, if you leave at 9 in the morning, you leave without traffic and arrive without problems in an hour and fifteen minutes.
Fantastic experience: If it were in another province, in another country, it would be considered a paradise of extensive beaches of fine white sand bathed by the Atlantic. It’s a lucky thing to live 5 minutes from heaven.
Positive experience: A large and very well-maintained beach. In the area where we were, there were no showers and parking was quite complicated; it was Saturday, but still, with how vast it is...
Fantastic experience: Beautiful
Positive experience: Beautiful beach. A bit difficult to find parking, but if you go early, you can find it easily.
Fantastic experience: Very large beach and excellent for spending the day
Fantastic experience: The beach of Huelva par excellence. Easy to get to, relatively easy to park (depending on the season) and a beautiful, clean place with easy access.
Fantastic experience: I love this beach. Although you have to be careful with the currents. Many people have lost their lives at this particular beach due to underwater currents. But the beach is great and the camping behind this beach is very good. Recommended.
Positive experience: It's a great beach. We went with our little dachshund and found out that day that they just repealed the law allowing dogs. That's why 3 stars.
Negative experience: We have been spending our summers at the dog-friendly beach that was about 300m long at La Bota beach for several years, and we just found out that they want to remove dog access. It's a shame because it was a nice section without rocks and mud that we had. If they do it, we definitely will not come back.
Positive experience: Precious
Fantastic experience: My favorite place, if you want tranquility, relaxation, peace, this is your spot.
Negative experience: We just returned from Portil, we love to take getaways to that area because of the beautiful and clean beach they have for pets. Now we have learned that they want to close it because some people are bothered by dogs when they walk on the kilometers of beach. They are disturbed by the few meters that dogs have. I know how those people are, it's a shame that this beach would close because of a few. We cannot allow this to happen, it’s a pity... I shared the experience with a bunch of people who are just as outraged because they want to close it. We're going to do everything possible to prevent this because the one they want to open for dogs is trash. I believe that dogs have the same right to enjoy as others (even if some don't like it). We all have the right to be able to do it, please those of us who have dogs, let's not allow this.
Negative experience: A small part of this beach was designated as a dog-friendly beach and this year the Punta Umbría town hall has decided to eliminate it. I can tolerate groups of kids who play music or families with children who don't stop shouting and bothering, but my well-behaved dog can't enjoy the beach, is that fair? I ask the town hall to reconsider and restore the dog-friendly beach in the same location.
Fantastic experience: Very good beach, especially because they let our little dogs enjoy the beach.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach, water temperature around April 20 was 17 degrees, felt like 20 degrees
Positive experience: It may not be the best beach in Huelva, nor the best for bathing due to dangerous currents, but it is unbeatable in views and climate. There are not many services, it's a beach with easy access from the city, but very neglected in services.
Fantastic experience: There are no jellyfish recommended
Fantastic experience: Large and clean beach, perfect for a nice day.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach! With a large expanse of sand and very clean water. With sunsets that must be experienced because they are unique. But for these marvelous beaches to remain the same, let's take care of them by picking up our trash when we visit, and if we go with our pets, let's be responsible and pick up after them, as they cannot. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular, very spacious and clean.
Fantastic experience: Spacious, clean, and quiet beach. We had a lovely day.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place with great views
Fantastic experience: A delightful beach, with plenty of space, no crowds, but the water is a bit cold.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful! Endless walks, crystal clear water!
Fantastic experience: Like the entire Huelva coast, it is a paradise
Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach
Fantastic experience: Endless beach great for walking while listening to the sound of the waves breaking.
Fantastic experience: My favorite spot, beautiful kilometer-long white sand beach. Storybook sunsets.
Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches in the area, with fine sand, fewer seaweeds than in other places. It was a great day.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful pristine beach!!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful. I will come back.
Positive experience: Beach with the necessary services and without buildings nearby
Positive experience: They do not allow pets, if you bring one you can get fined. There is a small islet that you have to cross through the water to get to the dog area which is right in front, I think it's silly.
Fantastic experience: Calm, paradisiacal, spacious. One of the best I have seen in Punta Umbría, I was able to enjoy it with my pet in a relaxed manner, it is a beach very well divided for whether there are dogs or not (something that all beaches should have in my opinion). If you are traveling in that area and don't know where to take your dog, take them there, they will enjoy it like a kid!!
Fantastic experience: Very extensive beach between Portil and Punta Umbria, it has a couple of beach bars where you have a shower, and if you are lucky you find the restroom working. It has ample space for parking, fine sand but when the tide is low there are quite a few sea shells. We flew a remote-controlled airplane, played volleyball, etc., super pleasant.
Fantastic experience: The beach is large, clean, and has a very nice atmosphere for dogs. Without a doubt, it's a beach to which I would return without hesitation. There is a monitored parking lot right at the beach, accessible from the same road. It could be improved by adding some trash cans or containers where dog owners can dispose of their pets' waste.
