Cove of the Sabolla

Information

Cala Sa Sabolla is a hidden gem located near Cadaqués, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. The beach features clear, crystalline waters and smooth pebbles, making it perfect for swimming and relaxing. Visitors often highlight the rewarding hiking trail that leads to the beach, which takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes and offers breathtaking panoramic views along the way.

  • Pros:
  • Beautiful, unspoiled natural environment.
  • Clear, clean water ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
  • Quiet and less crowded, especially in the early morning or late afternoon.
  • Scenic hiking trail providing stunning vistas.
  • Suitable for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

However, the location does have its drawbacks:

  • Cons:
  • Somewhat difficult access; requires a decent hike, often on uneven terrain.
  • Can become crowded with boats during peak hours.
  • Lack of amenities such as beach bars, requiring visitors to bring their own water and snacks.
  • Care is needed when descending rocky paths to reach the beach.

Overall, Cala Sa Sabolla is recommended for adventurous beachgoers looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a beautiful natural setting.

Fantastic experience: From Cadaqués, there is a good walking distance and the access is via a path with some difficulty.

Negative experience: I give one star because the beach is inaccessible for someone who suffers from vertigo (my wife had to turn back). The last 300 meters are steep and very narrow, so good shoes are required. Otherwise, the beach is beautiful.

Fantastic experience: Small beach accessible from the path to the lighthouse. So make sure to wear shoes instead of flip-flops when you walk there. Therefore, it's nicely quiet but very beautiful. So don't forget some water: there is no beach hut, etc. Pebble beach, in a bay with cliffs behind you.

Negative experience: Difficult to access and crowded with people and boats that skip the buoys. The peace and calm of the place has been shattered. It's a tourist trap.

Fantastic experience: A small but beautiful cove away from the Cadaques town. 30 min walk from where you can park your vehicle (wear appropriate footwear for stoney path and inclines). Stoney, tranquil beach

Fantastic experience: A nice little cove on the way to the Can Nans lighthouse. It's about a 30-minute walk from the center of Cadaqués. At the final part, you have to overcome the elevation from the path to the sea. Not very comfortable for older people.

Fantastic experience: A must-stop if you are going to the lighthouse, it is not overcrowded and every time I go I stop to bathe in the crystal clear waters just before continuing the route to the lighthouse.

Fantastic experience: One of the most tranquil and beautiful places in Cadaqués, you have to take a little walk to get there, but the surroundings of the path are worth it.

Fantastic experience: Nice 30 minute walk from Cadaques to the pebbly beach of Cebolla at Cala Nans. If you are in Cadaques for a week this should be on your itinerary at least once.

Positive experience: Stone and quiet beach. You have to walk half and hour to get there, but it is worth it. After the beach there is an small light house you must visit.
