Positive experience: Promenade at the end of the day with family to watch the sunset. Many people come here to have drinks and/or picnic with their partner, family, or friends.... it's a nice place. But it's such a shame that it's also so dirty despite the numerous bins available on site! There are so many cigarette butts especially, and various other wastes everywhere in the water and in the grass next to the benches.... It's really disrespectful to this natural place!
Fantastic experience: It's my favorite beach, so I'm not very objective. The truth is that it has sand and lawn for those who don't like one or the other. There is ample parking and it's easy to park, except on days when the weather is really nice, and then it's just a matter of luck, but it has wonderful views that are worth it.
Fantastic experience: It is an emblematic suburban beach located in the San Román area with fine golden sand and a length of 380 meters. It offers enough space to enjoy tranquility. The sand is available at low tide; at high tide, there is no dry sand surface. It owes its name to the finding of the Virgen's statue among the rocks of this place, which is why there is an island next to the beach that houses the hermitage of the Virgen del Mar, who is the patron saint of the city of Santander. Its surroundings are of great beauty, as it merges the sand with the rocky and green environment of the island, making this place ideal for enjoying the Costa Quebrada. Access is easy as there is a large parking area, but it can also be reached through the municipal bus service, which has a nearby stop. Due to its crystal-clear waters, La Virgen del Mar beach is ideal for divers to enjoy the beautiful seabeds of this area.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful landscape with beautiful cliff views. I recommend parking up to the beach.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular place, especially for kids to play. There is a beach bar where you can eat well and plenty of parking space.

Positive experience: The place is nice for a walk or a swim, but when I went there were more dogs than people on the beach. It's a shame that now the beaches are turning into the restroom for those who have dogs.
Fantastic experience: Bellissima spiaggia !!!

Fantastic experience: Spectacular place, especially for kids to play. There is a beach bar where you can eat well and plenty of parking space.
Fantastic experience: Interesting beach with different parts, noting that most of it disappears at high tide. Great little restaurant bar near the small bridge, with very reasonable prices.
Fantastic experience: Perfect for going with kids, there are two beach bars and an ice cream shop. I recommend going with a car, umbrella, and towels.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach, I especially recommend going to watch the sunset, but it is a beach where you can easily spend the whole day. It has a large parking lot and green areas where I have seen people having picnics and such. You can enter the church to see it from the inside, and it is very pretty. The beach also has a bar/restaurant with good prices for the location.
Fantastic experience: Whenever I go to Santander, I visit this beautiful environment, not only to enjoy its climate and views, but also to have a snack at the beach bar located at the foot of the beach. A highly recommended place.

Fantastic experience: There is plenty of parking, a very good dining area, lifeguards, and when the tide goes down, pools are created for the children, accessible for people with reduced mobility.
Fantastic experience: Me encanta.
Fantastic experience: Preciosa Playirri ️⛱️️ Pinedas Y Dunas Suntuosas ☀️ Aparcamiento Gratuito . Bar Cafetería Justo A La Entrada De La Playirri Vigilada Por Socorristas ♥️ Muy Apreciada Por Los Surfistas Aconsejable En Verano Llegar Antes De Las 10H Para Aparcar ! Virgin Beach of the Sea: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Today the sea was slightly choppy, fantastic rocky shore.
Positive experience: Small but very cute, and surrounded by greenery. It overflows in summer.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful
Fantastic experience: Like all the north, it's ideal. As long as you like the north. Green pastures, next to cliffs and beach.
Fantastic experience: A place to visit in the city of Santander, very nice beach, also highly recommend visiting the Church of La Virgen del Mar, a small church with a lot of maritime tradition, a special place to return to visit.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place, tranquil and with splendid beauty, with a beach for swimming. Recommended.
Fantastic experience: clean beach, lifeguards, free parking very beautiful with low tide
Positive experience: Really beautiful beach.

Fantastic experience: A beautiful place, cliffs, charming beach, a place to visit!!
Negative experience: Very beautiful, but very dirty ('band-aids', 'pads', and other stuff in the water)
Fantastic experience: Quiet beach with plenty of space which allows you to feel comfortable and without crowding of people. Recommended.
Positive experience: Great beach to visit although I didn't have time to swim. The locals told me that the sea has currents.

Fantastic experience: What a beautiful and lovely place to rest all your tiredness... and to be relieved. It is a pleasure to have been able to enjoy that unparalleled setting several times.
Positive experience: A good beach.
Fantastic experience: Very peaceful beach and hermitage
Positive experience: Normal beach, there are places where you can take a walk. There are toilets, a shower, an ice cream cart, and a bar. For me, it's a one-time visit.
Positive experience: Campsite for motorhomes a bit tight... Sanitary facilities are very average, not because of the staff, by the way, I really applaud them because working in this context really takes motivation... no, it's because of vacationers who are very dirty, how dare they??? Kudos to you, ladies, the cleaners.
Fantastic experience: Very family-friendly, I recommend it 100%
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, if you go to Santander you have to visit the Virgin of the Sea.

Fantastic experience: An amazing beach, honestly all the beaches in the area are great but this one has something special, especially for the parks!! I recommend it 100%
Fantastic experience: Interesting beach with different parts, noting that most of it disappears at high tide. Great little restaurant bar near the small bridge, with very reasonable prices.
Positive experience: huge free parking the beach is small it is two kinds of open coves with rocks in the middle with sand and very beautiful. They do not allow either on the beach or on the island of the Virgin of the Sea that is attached to the beach.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beaches and coves. A beautiful small church on the island.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful place. Worth going.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place to relax on the beach
Fantastic experience: Perfect for going with kids, there are two beach bars and an ice cream shop. I recommend going with a car, umbrella, and towels.
Fantastic experience: Nice place quite crowded on weekends. Spectacular beach, although at high tide there's little sand, which is fine and very pleasant.
Fantastic experience: Ideal for walking, peaceful and in winter spectacular waves!!!
Fantastic experience: It's very pretty, only that when the tide goes up, the beach is gone.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular
Fantastic experience: The beach has sandy soil, free access, and there is parking nearby.
Fantastic experience: Very positive although it was very windy, you could still bathe.
Positive experience: Fairly beautiful beach with rocks and a nice view of the cliffs. Very nice low tide to enjoy.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful
Fantastic experience: During low tide, we walked and swam with the dog - wonderful! On the left side of the bridge to the church.
Negative experience: Disappointed by the very beautiful site but very dirty, papers, plastics, cigarette butts on the beach. The water is very murky and dirty, impossible to swim, with many things floating and small jellyfish like pearls in large quantities. It's a shame that no one respects the places.
Fantastic experience: Very nice not too large beach, many opportunities to sunbathe, not just on the beach. Large free parking lot right by the beach, as well as 2 small taverns with snacks and drinks available. About 250 meters away there is a campsite, which was also not overcrowded even in the peak season.
Fantastic experience: A peaceful place and a café to regain strength
Fantastic experience: It is a wonderful place to rest and relax
Fantastic experience: There are no words to describe the broken coast... a must-visit if you come to Cantabria...
Negative experience: It was like me, struggling and only with her, it's a beach that I only recommend for healing.
Fantastic experience: A must-visit. Swim and enjoy the surroundings.

Fantastic experience: Very cool, good parking... the worst is that the tide rises very quickly.
Positive experience: Lovely beach with a lot of space, perfect for little kids and a beautiful scenery
Fantastic experience: It is the most charming, most amazing island I have ever seen, thank God for having been born so close to the Virgin of the Sea.
Fantastic experience: An iconic place for the Cantabrians, especially for the people of Santander, where our patroness, the Virgin of the Sea, is located. A small beach and a bridge that connects the island where the hermitage is framed.
Positive experience: The island of Virgen del Mar is not an area with a dazzling beach, but for me, sitting for a while on the rocks contemplating the sea, whatever its state, brings me a great sense of relaxation and tranquility.
Positive experience: The beach is very nice, with a bar restaurant and plenty of parking. The only downside is that it's not a beach for lying down with a towel, but there is a lot of grass.
Fantastic experience: It's very beautiful, we are visiting Cantabria, we were told about the Costa Quebrada, and this is the beginning of a hike, wear comfortable shoes.
Fantastic experience: Nice selection of small cove beaches, plenty of parking is available, we were here on the 5th of June when the religious fiesta was on its definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic experience: Very good place, arriving by Mountain Bike was a recommended experience! The city of Santander has bike paths for the ride, and although we then reached areas of farms, there is a good road to reach the proposed destination.
Positive experience: A quiet place with good services.
Fantastic experience: A fantastic beach with spectacular views.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular place ⛱️☀️ you can't miss coming to Santander and not knowing the virgin beach of the sea ⛵
Positive experience: It is a place with a lot of charm, even when it rains or perhaps because of it, the landscapes are magical. From any point you can enjoy very good views. The hermitage is also worth mentioning, for the believer the visit is a must.
Negative experience: Bad beach. There are a thousand better beaches than this one along the Cantabrian coast. The surroundings are just as beautiful as any other beach nearby, the only thing is that this one has a church and an improvised camp of fairground workers. The beach has no dry sand because the tide takes it all away, it is dirty, has a lot of trash, and does not smell good due to a drain that is there. I will not return.
Fantastic experience: Stunning, even without the sun it has a magnificent charm, there were people swimming anyway even with not quite ideal weather, definitely worth a visit, accessible from the city center by bus at a cost of €1.30. There are also lifeguards. For those who want, there is also a restaurant.
Fantastic experience: An amazing place
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place to relax your eyes and breathe peace
Fantastic experience: A place you shouldn't miss if you visit Santander. It's on the outskirts but it's worth taking a walk around the island (which you can access via a bridge) and seeing the cliffs.
Fantastic experience: There is plenty of parking, a very good dining area, lifeguards, and when the tide goes down, pools are created for the children, accessible for people with reduced mobility.
Positive experience: The beach is small, but the walk around the island is very nice, the parking is huge, and the bar is pretty good.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful place. You can get into the sea, but it's perfect to relax while enjoying the scenery and having a coffee at the beach bar.
Positive experience: A peaceful place to clear the mind and soul, great views.
Fantastic experience: A place that denotes tranquility, with paths leading to the cliffs of the northern coastline, where one can observe wonderful views of San Juan de la Canal Beach and the northern area of Santander. The chapel stands majestically on the hill. The beach is not very big, but it has its charm.
Negative experience: Poorly maintained and crowded beach
Fantastic experience: It's a spectacular place with beautiful beaches, I love it and well, a good restaurant.
Fantastic experience: The landscape is simply spectacular.
Fantastic experience: The chapel is very beautiful, the surroundings near the sea, a lot of space and a lot of greenery.
Positive experience: An interesting beach where several small coves with shallow water have formed and can be crossed by a bridge that leads to the Sanctuary of the Virgin del Mar.
Positive experience: Accessible by bus from Santander. Great panoramic observation point.
Fantastic experience: For me, it's a paradise, a very beautiful place to disconnect and visit the virgin.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful magical and spiritual place.
Fantastic experience: The place is really cool. They are currently under construction. There are bars where you can enjoy your calamari and beer without any problem on a weekend.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place
Positive experience: A nice place to disconnect from the city

Fantastic experience: Despite being packed and not having free tables, we were served wonderfully and ate (in a barrel) next to the bar. The food that was recommended to us was delicious: potato salad, beef cheek pastries, and tacos gūey. The wine, albarino Marieta, was very good. And the dessert, the torrija de sobao... A success, it deserves its fame.
Fantastic experience: Very quiet area and close to home!!!
Fantastic experience: A place to unwind, where you can observe some wonderful sunsets.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent view. Family meeting for the day. Very nice, good atmosphere.
Positive experience: A beautiful beach. The Church of the Virgin of the Sea on the hillside makes the place characteristic, like the little bridge that crosses over the water. It is quite equipped with a couple of eateries and is accessible by car.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place, where there is a hermitage and a beach. The sunset views from the rocks are stunning, as they are facing west. When there is swell, it is impressive to see how the waves crash against the cliff.
