Illot Beach
Information
Platja de L’Illot is a stunning location that offers a peaceful escape away from the crowds. Visitors highlight its beautiful landscape and clear waters, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling and enjoying nature. However, some users noted that the beach can become quite crowded, especially during the summer months, which may detract from its charm. The beach is relatively small and has limited space for sunbathing, so it's recommended to visit during the shoulder seasons for a more tranquil experience.

Fantastic experience: Very beautiful cove, we went in October so we didn't swim and we were able to park perfectly, in summer it must be a completely different story.
Positive experience: As for the beach, I can't fully evaluate it, as recent rains have left the waters very murky and the beach in a rather deplorable state. I indicate with photos the easy way to get there. You park in the parking lot that Google Maps takes you to, walk about 50 meters along the bridge. Turn left at the 'no entry except for residents' sign. Walk for about 3-4 minutes. You will find a path on the left next to a 'no littering' sign. Go down a red and white post. Turn left and walk until you reach the side of a house and a wooden sign with yellow arrows indicating where to go next. Go down some steps and railings, and at the end of the stairs, to the left, is the beach. Not even 10 minutes and very easy access.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful small beach, separated by a rocky outcrop into sand and pebbles. The path down from the road, which according to the signs is not to be driven on, is best walked in sturdy shoes. When we were there on 15.8.24, there were only a few other guests. Snorkeling along the rocks was an experience. There are no toilets. If you continue along the coastal hiking path that runs directly along the sea to the south, you will reach Platja de l'Aliga, which can also be reached by car. To the north, from where my photo was taken, you reach an even smaller cove than L'IIlot, which you won't find in GM and is highly recommended. We were completely alone there, like Robinson.
Fantastic experience: A paradise area, it doesn't have very good access but it's worth it to be in one of the most beautiful coves in Tarragona, you will need water shoes to enjoy it to the fullest.
Positive experience: The coastal path to get there is nice, but the beach itself isn't comfortable. There's little space to lie down and it's a bit crowded...

Negative experience: Very little space. There's nowhere to put the towel. It's mostly rocks, there's hardly any sand.

Fantastic experience: A beautiful place to visit, it is advisable to wear sports shoes to get there and water shoes to bathe, as there are rocks to enter the water. There is no restaurant, so it's better to bring food and drinks, there is not much shade, and it is difficult to put up an umbrella. Bring goggles for snorkeling, it's amazing to be able to swim in such crystal-clear waters.

Fantastic experience: Access via the GR, 10 minutes on foot. I've been going there for 5 years. Last year there was a landslide and the beach had disappeared, but this year everything has returned. It’s still just as beautiful.
Fantastic experience: Small but beautiful beach. Stones and sand. Warm water.
Negative experience: A rock fell off and injured a child who had to go to the hospital with a cut. Dirty, dangerous currents, many jellyfish, and hard to access. I do NOT recommend it at all.
Negative experience: Access is very complicated and dangerous. There is no space to put a towel on the beach, it is full of seaweed and jellyfish and the waves crash into the rocks, making it dangerous to get in the water. Very disappointing.

Positive experience: Good place to go away from the crowd. And if you go with a dog, even better. You have to walk a bit, but it's worth it.
Fantastic experience: Very nice, but the cove fills up quickly because it is small.
Fantastic experience: A paradise place!

Positive experience: The beach is very beautiful but in summer there are many people. It is better in autumn or spring when there is hardly anyone. It is advisable to do the GR of the coast, the views are very cool.
Fantastic experience: A very beautiful and peaceful place
Positive experience: Very crowded in August. Since it came out in several TikTok publications. Avoid it in August.
Positive experience: So advertising: it has lost its charm. Overcrowded.
Fantastic experience: A paradise area, it doesn't have very good access but it's worth it to be in one of the most beautiful coves in Tarragona, you will need water shoes to enjoy it to the fullest.
Fantastic experience: Magical place
Positive experience: The coastal path to get there is nice, but the beach itself isn't comfortable. There's little space to lie down and it's a bit crowded...
Negative experience: Very dangerous path and wild dogs.
Fantastic experience: Access via the GR, 10 minutes on foot. I've been going there for 5 years. Last year there was a landslide and the beach had disappeared, but this year everything has returned. It’s still just as beautiful.

Fantastic experience: Little corner of paradise
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach with nearby coves that must be seen
Fantastic experience: Top!!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: A difficult and quite dangerous path to the beach, especially for children, but super shallow water at the shore and cliffs from which you can safely jump. On the other hand, a charming rocky beach.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful site
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove. A bit difficult to get to but worth it.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful place to spend the day with family, I recommend it 100% to disconnect from all the craziness of the world around us.
Fantastic experience: It is one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited, I recommend wearing water shoes to walk around the islet.
Positive experience: It's a beautiful place. When we went, we thought we would follow the directions we saw in the other reviews, but upon arrival, we were lucky to meet a resident who guided us. There is a parking lot that Google Maps takes you to, which is about 5 minutes or less from this cove. To get there, you need to follow a small paved road next to the bridge on the main road, after passing two curves you will see a path to the left, and just by going down you will arrive right away.
Negative experience: I have known this place all my life. It was an idyllic environment. But unfortunately, it has become too well-known. The last time I went, it was packed with people, there wasn't a free spot. We had to leave as soon as we arrived. What a shame...
Fantastic experience: A really nice beach! A bit of sand on the other side with pebbles! Good!
Positive experience: Very beautiful
Fantastic experience: Beautiful
Negative experience: It's something very particular and hard to access.
Negative experience: Not advisable, we went once and never again, there are many better ones in the area, although I prefer those on the Costa Brava.
Negative experience: Steep path down, full of brambles, unevenness, slippery rocks even when dry... nothing accessible, all for sitting on half a meter of rocks, if you're lucky and there’s no one else, because if there are more than 3 people, it’s no longer possible to stay; so much path just to get into a cave that is one meter by one meter, super claustrophobic.
