Gavà Beach
Information
Platja Gavà is a beautiful, clean, and tranquil beach located just a short drive from Barcelona. It offers a variety of features that make it ideal for both families and pet owners. Visitors appreciate the fine sand, clear waters, and numerous facilities, such as sunbed and umbrella rental. There are also well-maintained walking paths and sufficient access points for those with reduced mobility.
However, there are some concerns that visitors have raised:
- Parking Fees: Many users find the parking fees to be excessive, especially when compared to other local beaches.
- Beach for Dogs: While there is a designated area for dogs, some have criticized it for being overcrowded and poorly maintained, resembling a cage rather than a fun space for pets.
- Seasonal Crowds: The beach can become crowded on weekends during the summer.
In conclusion, Platja Gavà is a delightful spot for a beach day, with beautiful surroundings and good amenities, albeit with some parking issues and concerns regarding the dog area.

Negative experience: They are very cheeky, they charge a lot for parking... more than in Barcelona.
Negative experience: I'm not going back to this beach where it costs you 11 euros to park for 4 hours in the green zone, by the way, it gets more extensive every year... I recommend driving a few more kilometers where there are prettier beaches and free parking.
Positive experience: Fine sandy beach, very clean and quite long, ideal for going with children and doing sports like running, skating, biking thanks to its well-marked promenade and numerous access points to the beach. It has a dog area and wheelchair access, but parking is the downside.
Negative experience: I think it's a shame that the new green area of Gavá Platja costs €3 per hour, it's more expensive than a Saba in Barcelona. We have been coming to this beach for years, it is clear that it is no longer viable. We used to come because the parking was free, but going from free to €3 per hour is a significant jump. Beach without beach bars or showers.
Fantastic experience: Very spacious and well-maintained beaches. The downside is that the parking is very expensive.

Negative experience: Very small beach. No dogs allowed at the entrance (where should I leave my dog if I'm coming from outside?). No walking on the dunes, marked by stakes and ropes. One of the worst naturist beaches I have ever visited.
Positive experience: We liked it a lot, it is a 20-minute drive and the place is quite good for dogs and people, fine sand and not very deep.
Negative experience: The dog area is horrible, it looks like a prison in the middle of the beach. Humans and dogs are piled up. If you have another place to take your pet, it will be your best option.
Positive experience: Fine sandy beach, very clean and quite long, ideal for going with children and doing sports like running, skating, biking thanks to its well-marked promenade and numerous access points to the beach. It has a dog area and wheelchair access, but parking is the downside.
Fantastic experience: Good place to go with pets

Fantastic experience: It's a beautiful place, the sand is fine, in autumn it's a spectacle to see the sunsets.

Negative experience: We went because they had a dog area... LAMENTABLE... The worst area, it looks like they don't clean this sector, full of trash in the sand, the water... And not dirty from dogs... But from people, as always. It's ridiculous what they do in Catalunya with the beaches and dogs, still better than in the middle of Barcelona with so many dirty and disrespectful people. The kiosk has a poor man who provides water for the dogs, but he doesn't have water from the pipes... I didn't take pictures because I wanted to leave.
Positive experience: Small beach with little sand, the only bad thing about this summer is that the showers were without water due to the drought and they should have at least left the foot cleaning shower.

Positive experience: It's fine. I miss places with shade and beach bars.

Fantastic experience: It's a beautiful place, the sand is fine, in autumn it's a spectacle to see the sunsets.
Fantastic experience: Calm in October
Fantastic experience: Nice beach, not crowded, you can relax in peace.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, my place in the world
Positive experience: Beautiful beach
Negative experience: Very small beach. No dogs allowed at the entrance (where should I leave my dog if I'm coming from outside?). No walking on the dunes, marked by stakes and ropes. One of the worst naturist beaches I have ever visited.
Fantastic experience: A spectacular beach, the sea is quite rich and tasty
Fantastic experience: Calm and very clean
Fantastic experience: I loved it, very peaceful, they rent umbrellas and chairs. Everything is clean.
Positive experience: We liked it a lot, it is a 20-minute drive and the place is quite good for dogs and people, fine sand and not very deep.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful views...
Fantastic experience: Good beach with lifeguards.
Negative experience: They are very cheeky, they charge a lot for parking... more than in Barcelona.
Positive experience: It's fine. I miss places with shade and beach bars.
Negative experience: The dog area is horrible, it looks like a prison in the middle of the beach. Humans and dogs are piled up. If you have another place to take your pet, it will be your best option.
Fantastic experience: Pleasant and very quiet, ideal for spending the day
Negative experience: You bring your dog's documentation and they ask for the census, and my dog's is on his chip. In the end, we got in after almost begging and coming from far away. But I think the vaccines are more important.
Negative experience: I'm not going back to this beach where it costs you 11 euros to park for 4 hours in the green zone, by the way, it gets more extensive every year... I recommend driving a few more kilometers where there are prettier beaches and free parking.
Fantastic experience: All those who complain about the census, wrong, you have to have the puppy registered, don't be bad.
Positive experience: Fine sandy beach, very clean and quite long, ideal for going with children and doing sports like running, skating, biking thanks to its well-marked promenade and numerous access points to the beach. It has a dog area and wheelchair access, but parking is the downside.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place to swim but take care of your bags and belongings!!
Fantastic experience: Good beach, there is a shower.
Positive experience: A little dirty water, but overall a decent place.
Fantastic experience: Good place to go with pets
Positive experience: Nice beach, not many people it's comfortable.
Fantastic experience: Very spacious and well-maintained beaches. The downside is that the parking is very expensive.
Fantastic experience: Great dog beach, better than Castelldefels.
Positive experience: Quiet except for summer weekends. Ideal for families with children and walking.
Negative experience: The perfect beach, but you can't go by car, they don't let you park, €3 an hour!! And if you don't have the app, you can't, just all facilities.
Negative experience: I think it is the worst beach for dogs. First, it is a very small space, and second, the worker kept calling the police for any reason. It felt like you were sitting with your dog in a jail.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular, incredible beaches, surrounded by dunes with native vegetation, very calm, beautiful, very clean and well maintained, it's worth enjoying them. Very well equipped with showers and foot rinses, all made of high-quality stainless steel, playgrounds with areas to practice various recreational and sports activities.
Fantastic experience: We went to their dog beach. I hope they soon expand it or open others along the coast. Really, the concept of a dog beach shouldn't exist, and instead, there should be the possibility of visiting any place in the territory accompanied by your non-human loved one. I don't understand why free movement should be restricted by being accompanied by a dog.
Fantastic experience: Good place to go with your pet and enjoy the beach. I want to mention the good work of the guy who works at the booth in the mornings every day, which is when I usually go due to my availability. I want to comment that the showers set up in the beach area for pets did not start working until July 24, and that sometimes the supply suddenly cuts off, so it's a lottery whether it works or not. This is a constructive criticism to improve the service since the area is set up.
Fantastic experience: The truth is that it's very clean the day we went. And if you have a dog, there is an area for them. Also, if you have reduced mobility or a person who uses a wheelchair, they have a water wheelchair for the sea. I think this is spectacular for people who love the beach and have some type of disability.
Fantastic experience: Very quiet, few people, the water was quite refreshing. They have an area of the beach dedicated only to dogs/pets, which I found spectacular so that all the dogs can enjoy the beach too.
Positive experience: Great place
Positive experience: Very nice walk to go with the family
Fantastic experience: I love this beach!
Fantastic experience: Perfect beach for the whole family
Fantastic experience: Very pretty wild beach with a small walkway / promenade. The sunsets there are incredible!
Fantastic experience: Perfect for long walks
Fantastic experience: Beautiful quiet beach near Barcelona, worth it for a nice calm beach day
Positive experience: Magnificent beach, the water is clean and clear!!
Positive experience: Great beach near Barcelona, with good dining options!
Positive experience: Nice place to walk and enjoy sunny days, beach area and promenade.
Fantastic experience: The dunes are a refuge for plants and animals.
Fantastic experience: Great for walking, playing sports, and enjoying the beach....
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and not far from Barcelona
Fantastic experience: I love this beach for many reasons; it is close to the city, quiet, spacious, clean, and has a very well-preserved and protected wild environment. Whenever I can, I go to recharge my batteries, breathe deeply, and fill myself with good energy. I feel free when I stroll through this setting and contemplate the sea. There is a complete connection with nature in this place because you find yourself between the sea, the dunes, the mountains, palm trees, and vegetation... Wonderful ❤️ Also, at any time, it is pleasant to be or walk around. At night, there is good lighting on the walks.
Fantastic experience: Great for dogs.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, a wonderful place! We go there every year.
Fantastic experience: It doesn't get very crowded and it's not deep, it's usually clean and has crystal clear waters.
Positive experience: This is very nice, I have it nearby and it is an advantage. Starting in October, I think you can park for free. It has wheelchair access. And there are activities nearby.
Positive experience: Very spacious and comfortable
Positive experience: Free parking, services of all kinds.
Positive experience: We were there in the evening and used the dining option at the beach restaurant.
Positive experience: Quiet beach with easy access. Ideal for water sports.
Fantastic experience: Just a perfect place outside Barcelona.
Positive experience: Small beach with little sand, the only bad thing about this summer is that the showers were without water due to the drought and they should have at least left the foot cleaning shower.
Fantastic experience: It's very peaceful to go on weekdays or Saturdays because it's really nice.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and clean with the best water, even there is a dog friendly beach too.
Positive experience: Not so overcrowded as Barcelona beaches, but not so clean water. Not garbage, but there is lot of waves which are making sand messing the water. But worth it.
Fantastic experience: This local beaches in the Gava neighborhood feature soft sand and breathtaking views of the Med. Locals, tourists and families frequent the beaches in this area.
Positive experience: Good place to hang out and go for a swim. We try to skip the weekends as it is very crowded. During the summer there are many places to have a break, breakfast, lunch or dinner, during off season alot of them are closed or have irregular opening times.
Fantastic experience: Very good alternative to enjoy the beach for residents of Barcelona. The best way to get there is to use a car. There is no railway station at Gavá Mar, but you can take bus number L95 from bus stop on street Ronda de la Universitat next by Plaza Catalunya, which gets you there in about 40 minutes.
Positive experience: Good beach in a relatively upscale neighborhood. Parking is still free, even though it's not in nearby Castelldefels. Nice boardwalk for those who want to bike, jog, or just walk.
