Information

Las Negras is a charming coastal village located in the Cabo de Gata National Park. Visitors have praised its stunning views and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for unwinding. Here are some of the highlights and drawbacks based on user feedback:

  • Pros: Many users described the beach as beautiful, with crystal-clear waters that are perfect for snorkeling. It's a less-crowded beach, making it an ideal retreat for those looking to relax and enjoy nature.
  • Cons: The beach is predominantly rocky, which can make walking uncomfortable without appropriate footwear. Some visitors found the lack of sandy areas disappointing, and there were a few mentions of jellyfish in the water.
  • Activities: The area is great for kayaking and exploring nearby caves and coves, which enhances its appeal as a destination.
  • Dining Options: The village hosts several quaint restaurants and chiringuitos offering delicious local cuisine, contributing to its friendly and vibrant atmosphere.

Overall, Las Negras is a serene destination with stunning views and a peaceful environment, ideal for those who appreciate nature and a slower pace of life.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful bay in the Cabo de Gata national park. Well worth a visit.

Positive experience: This may seem harsh but in terms of the 'beach' itself, I am going 3 stars. The location itself is gorgeous, there are some super restaurants and other facilities. But the beach is not great. Rocky, quite small and a big sign that says 'no bathing' in Spanish. There are numerous sandy beaches with 5-10 mins drive so for sunbathing, paddling or a game of volleyball etc I would be aiming for one of them. For a nice lunch, this is a great spot.

Cuesta aparcar

Positive experience: Beach of this beautiful village. It has nice views of the coastline and firm dark sand with stones. Various leisure activities can be done or you can eat in its variety of restaurants. There were several dogs enjoying the sand with their owners, including our lovely little dog.

Fantastic experience: Beach where you can go with your dog. It is very nice but it is not fine sand, which may bother some people. Dog admission: The beach is not supervised, so it is possible to come with your dog. Very spacious, so no one bothers anyone. The only thing is, of course, to respect others and not to forget small bags just in case. Very clean beach and trash bins at the exit.

Positive experience: It is not the prettiest village in Cabo de Gata, nor does it have the best beach (it is rocky), but it is a strategic place that has charm, is tranquil, the food is good, and the people are fantastic. It is a meeting point for boat trips and visiting the wonderful rugged coasts of Cabo de Gata and its beautiful coves. Kayaking from there is also highly recommended to take a stroll on the sea and discover the nooks presented by the beautiful coastline.

Positive experience: Let's break it down, first the good: the place is beautiful with great views, the beach is quiet and not crowded (thank goodness because it is small), the water is very clean and clear, there are several nearby restaurants that are very nice, there are restrooms. Now the bad: the beach has big stones, there is little sandy area, most are stones which makes it difficult to walk on them even with water shoes. If you don't mind that detail, everything else is great.

Positive experience: This is a place with a great view of the sea and quite good food. The service was good, although you can tell they are just starting out due to the lack of control they sometimes have. All the waiters were very friendly. The croquettes were very good, the tacos were okay, but we didn't like them as much. A bit pricey, although it's well located.

Fantastic experience: Nice village and spectacular coastline. I love those kinds of beaches, semi-wild and without monstrous buildings. It is stunning to see the white village appearing as you descend from the mountain pass. We were there in September and couldn't swim due to a red flag, so I have to come back. Also to do some of the hiking and boating routes. It is a good place to enjoy and disconnect. Restrooms: Fixed shed, upon entering the beach area, with running water and quite clean.
