Information

The Playa de El Rinconín is a small but charming beach located at the eastern end of San Lorenzo beach in Gijón. It is a popular spot for dog owners, as dogs are welcome all year round, making it a unique asset for pet lovers.

  • Highlights: Beautiful scenery, clean environment, and a large adjacent green park.
  • Pros: Great for dogs to run and play; not overly crowded, especially with pets.
  • Cons: The beach is mostly rocky with very little sand, making it uncomfortable for both dogs and humans to walk on. During low tide, many rocks are exposed, complicating access to the water.
  • Amenities: Nearby park with ample grassy areas, restrooms available, and free parking close by.

Overall, it's a fantastic place for dog owners to relax and enjoy a day at the beach, provided they come prepared for the rocky terrain.

Fantastic experience: Clean, small lagoons where small dogs can enjoy without stress. Not overcrowded. Next to a huge park... a must-stop for dog parents.

Negative experience: Dogs have to play by stepping on stones and the tide can't come up because you'll be left without a beach. It's a shame that in the city with the most dogs in all of Spain, they don't prepare a proper sandy beach for dogs, making it increasingly difficult for us to find a place to enjoy with them.

Positive experience: Small cove of stone and sand designated for dogs all year round, does not get affected much by the waves and has a large park next to it.

Negative experience: It's nice to have a beach to take pets, but my goodness, does it have to be the worst and farthest one??? I couldn't even stay for 10 minutes because the sand or rather the stones were very uncomfortable. I'm not expecting the best beach for furry ones, but at least one that we can share, that is good enough for them and for us.

Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, one of the best beaches in Asturias to go with a dog. Dog admission: Dogs are accepted all year round; I recommend arriving early in summer.

Fantastic experience: A very nice beach to go with pets. I recommend checking the tide before going or wearing water shoes as it is very rocky, and you can hurt yourself walking on the stones during low tide. Dog admission: Any dog is accepted. The beach has lifeguard personnel.

Klara Menor 5 years ago

Lorenzo Sanchez Gonzalez 7 years ago

David Nogales 7 years ago

Lara aralita 8 years ago

Fantastic experience: You have to take the tides into account; if there has been a full moon, the water goes down a lot and you end up without a beach, but it's very beautiful as it leaves many areas with water and you can see everything. Dog admission: Dogs are accepted and it's crowded.

Positive experience: Nice small beach where dogs can play and swim freely. There is a large green space above that is great as well. The entry to the water is shallow but be careful, there are many big rocks, especially during high tide.

Positive experience: Stony beach, ideal for beginners in diving, which could be better utilized. They have turned it into a dog beach, so most people don't even consider it, and those of us who were regulars no go anymore, especially with kids.

Fantastic experience: A very nice beach, especially at high tide. You can bring your little dog, great news for our companions. A 10 for the councilman. It would be fantastic if they put wooden tables so we could eat outdoors... It has a giant park that would be perfect.
