Information
Playa de Caranza, located in Ferrol, is a charming urban beach ideal for those seeking a quick escape. It boasts a blue flag and offers numerous amenities, including lifeguards, accessible walkways, showers, and picnic areas. Visitors appreciate the clean and calm water, making it a great spot for families and those looking to relax.
Reviews highlight:
- A well-maintained environment with nearby parks and greenery.

- Suitable for walking, whether with pets or for a leisurely stroll.
- Despite its convenience, some users mention the presence of shells on the beach and occasional cleanliness issues—highlighting a need for better maintenance.

Positive experience: The most beautiful spot you will find in Ferrol on the English Way. Ferrol is a city without charm, next to the sea that you cannot see because it is filled with army buildings and shipyards that block your way. You think you are going to see a coastal city, but in reality, you see a coastal city without a coast.
Fantastic experience: It's a great urban beach, so much that it has a blue flag, it has all the services, including lifeguard and accessibility features, with a platform and shade to rest, and a direct path to the water, even an amphibious chair for those who need it. Showers, restrooms, shaded areas, picnic spots... the water is clean and inviting for swimming. There is plenty of parking, with adapted spaces. It's a very good beach for going with children and when you don't have much time, it's ideal for a quick visit. It just lacks a beach bar or ice cream stand, although being an urban beach, there are bars around the area.
Negative experience: Uncomfortable access. Many stones.
Fantastic experience: I liked it a lot because it has everything. The beach itself is nice, many people go there to sunbathe, few go into the water. It has a green area, wooden tables, it is a clean beach although there will always be someone who leaves something behind. Nearby, there is a small playground, and a place to exercise. It is full of trees. It is really beautiful for those who want to go directly to the sun, as well as for those looking for a bit of shade and just want to look at the horizon. Many people take their fur babies for a walk there in the afternoons, the only thing is that most leave them without a leash, but overall it is all calm and pleasant. It's a gorgeous place! They have fixed the wooden walkway, it turned out beautiful! Although they should fix the wooden tables and everything else, it is a gorgeous place that is also part of the English path; it should be in better condition, with public restrooms, etc. There is a small park near the beach, with its respective picnic area. They have fixed the tiles of the promenade.
Fantastic experience: Walkway with easy access to the beach

Positive experience: The promenade is nice and the proximity to the city is great, but I don't think the sand and water are the best. It's fine for a quick visit, but there are thousands of better beaches nearby.
Fantastic experience: It is clean.. but plenty of dog dirt.. we had a nice experience especially since we are only visiting because we had a dry dock at Navantia. Restrooms: there were 2 restrooms when we visited because it was summer time.. not sure about other seasons. Dog admission: yes, many locals bringing dogs.

Fantastic experience: Nice beach, quite full of stones but with a very pleasant atmosphere
Negative experience: The day I went, the beach was mostly covered with shells, so it was not possible to walk.
Negative experience: Uncomfortable access. Many stones.
Fantastic experience: A semi-urban beach with a blue flag and crystal clear water. It is surrounded by a promenade with some benches for eating. The views are not beautiful and there are many rocks, but it is peaceful.

Fantastic experience: Pure relaxation!!!
Fantastic experience: Nice beach, quite full of stones but with a very pleasant atmosphere
Positive experience: The place is very good, but it needs improvements in infrastructure with urban beautification, as it has tourist potential.

Fantastic experience: A good place to walk around the estuary.
Negative experience: The day I went, the beach was mostly covered with shells, so it was not possible to walk.
Fantastic experience: Perfect
Negative experience: Uncomfortable access. Many stones.
Positive experience: Clean water and calm beach
Negative experience: Too many people shouting and with music, it's overwhelming.
Fantastic experience: A semi-urban beach with a blue flag and crystal clear water. It is surrounded by a promenade with some benches for eating. The views are not beautiful and there are many rocks, but it is peaceful.
Fantastic experience: Excellent, one of the best inland beaches by the estuary.
Positive experience: The promenade is nice and the proximity to the city is great, but I don't think the sand and water are the best. It's fine for a quick visit, but there are thousands of better beaches nearby.
Fantastic experience: Impressive the work they have done on this beach, bravo to the town hall. More actions like this are needed.
Positive experience: Quiet and clean waters
Positive experience: Future boulevard. Immense roundabout!
Fantastic experience: Close to the city and super comfortable, and it has everything.
Positive experience: Nice and peaceful beach, usually not crowded
Fantastic experience: Quite well taken care of
Fantastic experience: Ideal for walking with or without a dog in winter and for going with children in summer due to the lack of waves. Restrooms: They are only available during the bathing season. Picnic area: 4 tables with benches, a trash can, and a fountain.

Fantastic experience: A place to enjoy views of the estuary and the weather in an outdoor environment, along with its trails.
Negative experience: It's a tidal beach, for local people who don't have much free time and just want to take a dip, it's fine. But if you can travel, I wouldn't recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Walkway with easy access to the beach
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful urban beach, with a lovely promenade
Positive experience: Nice and unknown city beach. Sheltered and with calm waters near the shore. Clean waters since the previous sanitation works in the city. Tables, showers, and lifeguard service. Shady area, and a field for those who do not want sand and sun. Surrounded by the path of the Camiño Inglés in its first kilometers to Santiago. What I would add is a buoy area for swimming limits, as when the tide goes down, the current in the estuary is more noticeable.
Positive experience: Beautiful urban beach, now with the treatment plant the water is safe, it has showers and is an alternative for locals who cannot travel to the good beaches of Ferrolterra, very calm and blue flag, it just needs the coast to provide sand and the town hall to get involved in its maintenance.
