Tufia Beach
Information
Tufia Beach is a charming and authentic spot located in a small fishing village, featuring unique black volcanic sand and crystal-clear waters, making it ideal for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, picturesque views, and the friendly locals who inhabit this quiet area. However, the beach is quite small and can become crowded, especially on weekends.
Some highlights include:
- Snorkeling and diving opportunities - The beach is a hotspot for aquatic activities.
- Serene environment - Perfect for relaxation and enjoying nature away from touristy areas.
- Stunning scenery - The white and blue houses against the rocky backdrop create a beautiful landscape.
On the downside, there are no bars or restaurants in the village, which means visitors should bring their own food and drinks. Fantastic experience: Small village built on the side of a cliff, with its feet in the water, a small black sand beach is uncovered at low tide. Large parking lot right at the entrance of the village. Only local tourists.
Positive experience: Pretty little port. It is worth the detour. A very quiet afternoon for those who appreciate tranquility. Also, a nice beach 100 meters to the left of the parking.
Fantastic experience: Idyllic place where seemingly more locals go swimming. The small town looks very pretty. Parking is a bit more difficult despite the large parking lot.
Positive experience: Idyllic location. Located a bit in the flight path. 2 beaches are accessible from the parking lot.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful, small village that is obviously very popular with divers. There is a large parking lot on site so you can take your time to look around.

Fantastic experience: Super beautiful place you can dive there or just enjoy the black volcanic sand ⛱️
Positive experience: It is a dog beach with a beautiful view for those who love to watch planes, and on the other side, it is appealing for divers.
Positive experience: A well-sheltered cove of volcanic sand. Easy access and a good place for diving/snorkeling. The village of Tufia is very peculiar and typical of the island.
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite spots in Gran Canaria. It's a small fishing village, the houses on the rocks, very beautiful and clean. The blue and white colors of the houses stand out against the volcanic rock. Also, there are the ruins of the historic settlement of Tufia. The kindness of the people living there is amazing in these times; today they invited us to have breakfast with fried fish.
Positive experience: Atmospheric tiny village with volcanic sand beach. Some houses are located right in the rock. Like it.

Positive experience: Very small black sand beach in a small fishing village. There are a lot of rocks. Ideal beach for diving.
Positive experience: It's nice to see, but the beach (being a cove) is small and has many stones, yet it has that maritime charm of times gone by.
Fantastic experience: The place to be for snorkeling. Please be aware there is nothing else but local people and a black sand beach. Which is great because it is authentic.

Fantastic experience: Very small beach ideal for snorkeling or diving. There is no bar or restaurant in the village.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach with black sand and cold, clear water... The village has no bars or restaurants.
Positive experience: Tufia beach is in the village of the same name on the eastern side of Gran Canaria. The village is specific for it's small white houses, and the beach for its black natural sand and dark-colored seabed due to lava. There is a huge parking lot before the entrance to the village, but unfortunately there are no shops, cafes or restaurants in the village itself. The beach is very small, about 40 m, so if you come during high tide, you can lie on the black lava shore or walk to Aguadulce beach, which is a 10-minute walk from it. Aguadulce is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island because the sand is golden, but it does not exude charm like the Tufia beach.
Fantastic experience: It's an unic place. Small houses at a very small and short streets. Wonderful beach. Small fishermen's houses near the water. Very calm and anti stress atmosphere. There's no place like this. Time is endless here. No shops, no restaurants, no noisy croud... everything is calm and quiet. I recommend!!!!
Positive experience: Tiny coastal village in a nature reserve and with its own aboriginal settlement. Tufia is a lovely place for a walk and the snorkelling offshore in the little bay is great. It's a bit let down by the fact that there's no restaurant or bar most days, and that you need to arrange permission to visit the settlement in advance. Aguadulce beach just a minute's walk to the north is stunning on a calm day.

Fantastic experience: It is one of the charms of the capital, a beach full of houses in the mountain (Fishermen's Village), crystal clear waters, black sand... a true paradise and behind the mountain another beach, Aguadulce with yellow sand.

Fantastic experience: Natural beach in Gran Canaria.
Positive experience: It's not really for swimming. We went snorkeling at this beach.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful little town worth stopping by before heading to the airport, that's how it was recommended to me, and I appreciate that they advised me to go.
Fantastic experience: In a protected natural area, it retains the essence of the fishing villages of the past. The white houses, adorned with blue frames, make this place a unique location, far from the changes that tourism has brought to the coastal areas of Gran Canaria.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful local beach, without tourist hype, a charming town on a rocky peninsula. Wonderful views and a bit of real Gran Canaria.
Fantastic experience: Idyllic place where seemingly more locals go swimming. The small town looks very pretty. Parking is a bit more difficult despite the large parking lot.
Positive experience: A beautiful patch of earth. Not only nice to look at, but also suitable for swimming and a special hotspot for divers. It's a pity that there is neither a café nor toilets here.
Fantastic experience: A small and emblematic settlement in Telde, and one of the most unique places on the island.
Fantastic experience: Friendly beach kittens. Affectionate and calm. The neighbors take very good care of them.
Fantastic experience: It's a lovely place, a small fishing village with a little beach where you can see the fishermen's boats. Honestly, I love it and whenever I can, I spend a little time here, without a doubt one of my favorite spots on the island.
Fantastic experience: A really small fishing village, it takes just a few minutes to walk along the coast, with a charm from another time, always thinking about sustainability and the tranquility of the gentle passage of time. Excellent beach (sheltered from the winds), small but very good for snorkeling and guided dives.
Positive experience: Idyllic location. Located a bit in the flight path. 2 beaches are accessible from the parking lot.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place for diving. I will definitely return here.

Fantastic experience: Lovely spot for relaxation and disconnection
Fantastic experience: Very calm, perfect for relaxing and disconnecting.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful place. Here's also a big parking lot with campers.
Fantastic experience: Charming corner of the island
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful here
Fantastic experience: A atmospheric place, still not contaminated by very commercial tourism
Fantastic experience: A very unique village just north of the airport. It is definitely worth visiting, it has remained as it was, one of the few.
Positive experience: Good place for diving. The entry is not quite easy, as you have to carry the equipment quite a way down and back from the parking lot. At low tide, it is a bit difficult, as first there are 3m medium-sized stones in knee-deep water. Very good for beginners, as it gets slowly deeper without steep walls. Unfortunately, there is no entry to go directly into deeper areas. Fish diversity is good, several large rays and one angel shark seen. The beach is mostly used by locals. There is indeed no gastronomy, as all houses here seem to have been built without construction permits. Apparently, no one has dared to open a restaurant without permission.
Fantastic experience: A small but very cozy village. It takes you back to a distant past. The ocean shows all its strength and beauty. A WONDER to see and experience.
Positive experience: A very small charming place that is worth visiting.
Positive experience: It is a dog beach with a beautiful view for those who love to watch planes, and on the other side, it is appealing for divers.
Fantastic experience: Ideal for snorkeling or diving. For those who want to show off their bodies, they should head south to Maspalomas.
Positive experience: A well-sheltered cove of volcanic sand. Easy access and a good place for diving/snorkeling. The village of Tufia is very peculiar and typical of the island.
Fantastic experience: A small but very beautiful village, it looks like a postcard.
Fantastic experience: It wouldn't be the best beach to visit if what you're looking for is a sandy beach with a large expanse and a lot of comfort, but the village is very picturesque and has its own style. The water is usually very clean and visibility is very good, which makes diving or snorkeling easier. In my case, I went to do the scuba diving baptism and the experience couldn't have been better.
Fantastic experience: Small beach with very original black sand due to its bucolic nature. It's ideal for photography.
Positive experience: Well, what should I say... considered a hidden gem because of the black sand and its sheltered location... for me, a real disappointment... the beach itself is very small and not really appealing... the only highlight is the apartments built into the rocks and the remains of old settlement structures on the cliff's edge... but otherwise, really disappointing!!
Fantastic experience: An excellent beach, there is no bar... But my experience is good, when I asked about the bars they invited me for a beer.
Positive experience: Pretty harbor, many divers. The surroundings and the parking lot are dirty.
Fantastic experience: Charming fishing village. Beautiful!!!!
Fantastic experience: A native place with a small beach very well cared for by those who live there, and it makes visitors aware that enjoying nature comes from respecting it.
Fantastic experience: A spectacular place for water sports and especially snorkeling.
Fantastic experience: First time and it won't be the last, close place, quiet, full of peace and commendable, definitely worth repeating
Positive experience: Sweet little beach! The way there is a bit difficult, there are some sea urchins in the water.
Fantastic experience: Small cove with a lot of locals, black sand and rocks. Difficult access, follow the GPS.
Fantastic experience: Very clean natural beach but very small, far from the artificial beaches in the south of the island. Perfect for diving and swimming.
Fantastic experience: Small typical fishing village of Gran Canaria, perfect for crab lovers and snorkeling! A calm place, perfect for a little splash!
Fantastic experience: A great alternative for the last day before the flight. Close to the airport, you can swim, take a shower, and eat well at the bar next door.
Fantastic experience: A lovely place to spend a fantastic time.
Fantastic experience: Ideal for going on weekdays, as it gets very crowded on weekends... Be sure to check the tides, as with high tide there is hardly any beach since it's so small.
Positive experience: Incredible place, super quiet, immaculate beach, crystal clear water, absolute tranquility. It's important to know that there are no cafes/bars in the area.
Fantastic experience: Amazing, the best beach on the island, very clean water. You won't find a better one on the island.
Fantastic experience: I recently visited a beach that was nothing short of paradise. The crystal-clear waters made it an ideal spot for snorkeling, allowing me to explore the underwater world with ease. The gentle, calming breeze added to the tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect escape from the daily hustle and bustle. The only minor drawback was its size, particularly when the tide was at its peak, but that didn't diminish the overall experience. It was a near-perfect beach getaway, and I can't wait to return.
Fantastic experience: Very cozy fishing village with a small cove that has a snorkeling and diving area ideal for seeing a large number of fish without having to go too far in.
Fantastic experience: Small little place with lot to see and enjoy.
Fantastic experience: A perfect spot for snorkeling and diving. The beach is married to a beautiful tiny white village. A great variety of ocean life awaits you at the seabed which gets deep very quick. Come early and you will find a peaceful village, abundance of fish, and secure yourself a parking spot with a view!
