Troya Beaches
Information
Playa de Troya, located in Adeje on the south coast of Tenerife, is a popular destination known for its fine black sand and clear, warm waters. Visitors appreciate its various amenities, including affordable sunbeds and umbrellas that cost around 6€ each. The beach is spacious, allowing for comfortable distances between sunbathers, making it ideal for families. Many users highlight the stunning sunset views and access to nearby bars and restaurants.
However, there are some downsides that visitors frequently mention. The presence of aggressive vendors selling drinks, massages, and other items can be quite bothersome. Additionally, users report issues with the public restrooms, stating they are often inadequate and poorly maintained. On busy days, the beach can get crowded, particularly with tourists, which may detract from a relaxing experience.
- Pros: Beautiful scenery, good facilities, and family-friendly.
- Cons: Vendor noise, restroom issues, and sometimes overcrowded.

Fantastic experience: A great beach, easy access to the sea, sandy shore. Very nice.
Positive experience: The beach is very nice, but there are too many street vendors, each one shouting what they sell. The biggest flaw of the beach is the showers; they are a SHAME, they barely dispense water and the little that comes out forms a puddle, as if there were no drainage. The wooden access paths to the beach are very deteriorated. There is a small beach bar, but cozy. In summary, the beach itself is very nice, but what surrounds it should improve a lot, especially the showers; I repeat, THEY ARE A SHAME.
Fantastic experience: One of the most practical beaches around the area. The beach is sandy, you have bars and restaurants available in the area with decent prices. Very popular with tourists, so if you like a quiet beach, this is not for you. But for a quick dip in the sea, it is good. Parking places are available in the area, so it takes max 5 minutes to walk down here.
Fantastic experience: Great sandy beach with no rocks next to the Americas (the more famous one that is worthless with a lot of rocks impossible to access without water shoes). Recommended if you are in the area.
Positive experience: A quite popular beach in Tenerife, composed of a mix of sand and stones. Located in a central area, close to shops, bars, and restaurants, making it attractive to visitors. It provides sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, as well as public restrooms and showers (for a fee). Safe, with easy access to the shoreline with a gentle slope into the sea, ideal for families with children. Good cleanliness and maintenance, but less positive are the prices of sun loungers and public restrooms, discomfort on windy days, and the excess stones for those who like to walk barefoot.

Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for families, with fine volcanic sand and sheltered from the waves. It has all the services. Crowded area. Amazing sand sculptures, works of art, that the sea takes away.
Fantastic experience: A stick-like beach, but great for enjoying the wonderful weather from the south of the island. There are quite a few waves, which really helps to enjoy a day at the beach.
Fantastic experience: Beach with fine volcanic sand, with a gentle entry into the water, no waves, beautiful view at sunset.
Fantastic experience: Spiaggia fine e nera vulcanica fornita attrezzata 2 lettini e ombrellone 9€

Fantastic experience: Here you find life. Instead of boring small beaches or rocky beaches. You have two options the quiet beach at the right or the beach with fun waves in the middle. I didn't try the left one. I tried other beaches but noooo. Next time I will go back to this smooth sandy wide beach with the same hotel behind it.
Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for families, with fine volcanic sand and sheltered from the waves. It has all the services. Crowded area. Amazing sand sculptures, works of art, that the sea takes away.
Positive experience: Very fine sand beach both in and out of the sea, little wave action, and clear water. We arrived at the first hour and there were very few people; then it started to fill up, but even so, it wasn’t overcrowded. The downside was all the people continuously passing by offering drinks, massages, fruit... It becomes annoying.
Fantastic experience: A great beach, easy access to the sea, sandy shore. Very nice.
Positive experience: Beach with hammocks and umbrellas not very crowded. Ideal. Just that there are some rocks in the sea, I recommend wearing water shoes.

Fantastic experience: Lovely beach and very close to restaurants so convenient
Positive experience: The beach is very nice, but there are too many street vendors, each one shouting what they sell. Positive experience: American type beach :) Personally, I am bothered by the loud vendors selling refreshments, massages, blankets and more... Lack of toilets. It is possible to rent sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a beach bar nearby. If you like touristy places, the beach is right for you :)
Positive experience: Black sand beach, with a quite large sandy area. Surrounding area with several hotels, restaurants, and bars.

Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for families, close to everything in Costa Adeje, with a lifeguard and usually calm waters
Fantastic experience: Great sandy beach suitable also for children who can play safely because it is supervised all day by lifeguards.
Fantastic experience: Free entry, shower and changing room available. To use the toilets is €1. There were a couple of bars on the beach. You will also have oversight from lifeguards. The dark sand is very fine and clean.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach with fine sand and few stones. Since the sand is quite dark, it gets very hot in the sun. Shoes are therefore necessary, especially around noon. A lifeguard was always on site when I was there.

Fantastic experience: Amazing clean beach with nice snorkelling opportunities.
Positive experience: The beach itself is beautiful, with many places to eat or drink, sunbeds for €6, paid toilets, but very clean. The problem is the public showers, the water pressure is very low and not all work together, which is hard to explain to users who insist on turning them all on, leaving everyone without water. The sea has nice waves, but it's not dangerous; the sand by the shore is darker, and being surrounded by rocks, the water is not always clear, but overall it is clean and fresh.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach, it has everything and the water is crystal clear.
Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for families, close to everything in Costa Adeje, with a lifeguard and usually calm waters

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach in the Las Americas area. Its location makes it fresh due to the wind and currents. The ocean water is cold, and many locals are equipped with wetsuits. Ideal for those who love surfing or are learning. There are many services and restaurants along the promenade that borders it.
Fantastic experience: Playa tranquila. Está bien para bañarse ya que no hay tantas olas ni rocas. Justo al lado las hay con muchas olas donde can los surfistas, pero en esta no.
Positive experience: Playa de Troya is a very popular beach for sun bathers and swimming. Lately I have noticed that more and more surfers are using the beach for surfing. With the amount of swimmers in the water, and in particular lots of children , this is very dangerous, and there is going to be lots of accidents and injuries to swimmers. Surfing should not be allowed on this beach.
Fantastic experience: Veldig vakkert og rent strand, surf er veldig populært der, man kan bare bestille ✌️ glass og nytte solnedgangen ❤️

Fantastic experience: Amazing clean beach with nice snorkelling opportunities.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic beach with cheap beach bars nearby to eat at a good price. If you like to see fish, you will have to go to the stone rows, and you will find a diversity of fish, crabs, and sea urchins (be careful with the latter).
Positive experience: Nice small beach with black sand. Fun to swim taking advantage of the Atlantic waves!

Troya Beaches: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Great beach with unusual black sand, comfortable for swimming and relaxing. The waves are moderate, but be careful near the rocks, there are occasionally very high and powerful waves... that's how I drowned my phone.
Fantastic experience: Love this beach. Great waves while I visited.
Fantastic experience: it's good

Positive experience: A man-made beach that fits well enough.
Negative experience: Stinky beach, dirty and poorly maintained loungers, no toilets, showers broken for a long time, we pay, they should offer us a minimum, the essentials.
Fantastic experience: A great beach, easy access to the sea, sandy shore. Very nice.
Positive experience: Beach with hammocks and umbrellas not very crowded. Ideal. Just that there are some rocks in the sea, I recommend wearing water shoes.
Positive experience: Two sun loungers and a parasol for 12 euros. Really great price. The beach is quite crowded, but there is enough space between one parasol and another.
Fantastic experience: A really nice beach. Sunshade and a lounger for €6. There is a small kiosk for drinks and ice creams and very clean bathrooms just a few steps away (bathroom fee €1 but I believe you can also take showers indoors).
Positive experience: Good beach. Rude staff.
Fantastic experience: Nice beach and behind it a bar where they make luxury drinks
Fantastic experience: Hot sand, lovely sea, cheap donut on the beach.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach, it has everything and the water is crystal clear.
Positive experience: Very nice, had quite a few waves. Perfect for me.
Fantastic experience: I love this beach and every time I can, I go. I recommend it.
Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for families, close to everything in Costa Adeje, with a lifeguard and usually calm waters
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach in the Americas, always full of young people and close to everything, ideal for spending the day.
Positive experience: Nice beach with small waves, the only thing would be more supervision and enforcement of the laws. It's not possible for people to be smoking and others selling even food informally without being addressed.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, my partner and I went to the area by the rocks far down to avoid overcrowding. It's a tourist area like the entire promenade, there are street vendors of all kinds of things, but I think being far from the sun loungers, they didn't come much to that area. If you want to be calm, I recommend looking for beaches further away from the city.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach
Fantastic experience: Spacious, roomy, great prices, beautiful sea.
Negative experience: Beach below average for Tenerife, a huge flaw that makes it unlivable is the inhuman presence of shouting street vendors that constantly break your ears.
Fantastic experience: An absolute dream of a beach with views of boat rides. A great walk from 1 side to the other on beach. All shops for all needs by beach.
Fantastic experience: Super beach! However, there are a lot of waves, so be careful for those who don't like that ;) PS: the sand can be very hot.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, sun loungers and umbrellas at moderate prices, but you have to like the many beach vendors loudly advertising their goods and the loud music from the bars around.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach with nice waves! Your children will have fun, that's for sure!
Negative experience: I give it one star because zero is not possible. Beach near the H10 Las Palmeras hotel where I stayed, full of shouting street vendors as if there were no tomorrow, who insistently try to sell you food of dubious origin. We escaped in despair even though we had paid for the public sunbeds and umbrella. Highly discouraged.
Fantastic experience: Nice and beautiful place, fine sand with almost no stones. There were big high waves today, the children had a lot of fun. Cozy promenade with nice shops to stroll around.
Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches on the southern coast, definitely better than Los Cristianos or Las Américas... loungers with umbrellas for €6, spacious services and beach, clean and calm water thanks to the breakwaters, soft sand... and then with that name... Recommended!
Positive experience: Quiet place, many umbrellas and deck chairs available with good distance, wide free beach. Be careful, it's black, it burns... A downside is the absence of a bathroom which is available in other facilities.
Fantastic experience: Nice beach. Youthful area. They say the sunset is beautiful, but we didn't wait for it.
Fantastic experience: Great sandy beach suitable also for children who can play safely because it is supervised all day by lifeguards.
Positive experience: Sometimes very crowded but good for a while
Negative experience: The beach is nice. But you have to pay to use the restrooms.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, nice waves. 'Wished I could stay.' Will surely return.
Fantastic experience: To all smokers, please the beach is not your ashtray, stop poisoning the nature around you!
Fantastic experience: A stick-like beach, but great for enjoying the wonderful weather from the south of the island. There are quite a few waves, which really helps to enjoy a day at the beach.
Fantastic experience: One of the most practical beaches around the area. The beach is sandy, you have bars and restaurants available in the area with decent prices. Fantastic experience: Great sandy beach with no rocks next to the Americas (the more famous one that is worthless with a lot of rocks impossible to access without water shoes). Recommended if you are in the area.
Fantastic experience: Good place to swim or take sunbaths. There are lots of places near the beach where you can get some drinks and food.
Fantastic experience: What can I say about Tenerife? Everything is perfect and magical, we will return next year as well.
Fantastic experience: Large, clean beach. Plenty of sun loungers and places to lie on the sand. Gentle slope into the water.
Positive experience: Black sand beach, with a quite large sandy area. Surrounding area with several hotels, restaurants, and bars.
Positive experience: Beach with sand. Entrance to the water with and without stones. But few sun loungers, lack of umbrellas, and few shops where you can buy one.
Fantastic experience: This beach is unmatched in the afternoon and at sunset, thanks to the sun that kisses it perpendicularly during the summer. This daily spectacle attracts many tourists from the island. For this reason alone, it is worth being there at least once.
Negative experience: Beach similar to the Lazio coastline (Sperlonga), clean water and good temperature, affordable beach clubs (6 or 12€ in June) with umbrella and sunbed (a bit uncomfortable because it's not adjustable), fine and dark sand. A toilet located under the monkey for 1€ and shower always for a fee. But why did I give one star? Because in the afternoon my backpack was stolen and NO ONE did anything. There are many street vendors and tourists (various nationalities) who are disrespectful of public peace and relaxation, but especially because they seem to be blind and deaf as well. It is not a safe place to spend a day at the beach. If I come on vacation, it's to relax, not to think about going home with less money and personal belongings than before.
Fantastic experience: Nice beach, went on for water sports day.
Fantastic experience: Great beach for sunbathing in total relaxation mode.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic beach with cheap beach bars nearby to eat at a good price. If you like to see fish, you will have to go to the stone rows, and you will find a diversity of fish, crabs, and sea urchins (be careful with the latter).
Fantastic experience: Good black sand beach, typical of the Canary Islands.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, huge to see during the day and at sunset!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and sea, a sunshade and two sun loungers cost €12. Well serviced right on the promenade of Las Americas, with all the comforts and local amenities. The only negative note is the sanitary facilities; to use them, the cost is €1, which I find too excessive.
Fantastic experience: Beach of fine black sand, very spacious with clear and clean sea
Positive experience: I was in front of this beach but I have never gone there during the day.
Positive experience: The place is quiet with well-spaced umbrellas that allow for good movement of the sunbeds. It's a shame that the beach is lacking sanitary facilities....
Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for going with children.
Positive experience: More than a Spanish beach, it looks like an English beach, it's full of tourists and bars for them. The music from the surrounding bars can be heard from the beach while you sunbathe. The beach also has paid sun loungers and umbrellas. We couldn't stand more than an hour there considering the atmosphere.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach for going with children, there are waves but of little danger because it is a very flat beach, there is not much depth.
Fantastic experience: Troya beach is located in Adeje, in the south of Tenerife. It is a large beach, very well equipped, and very comfortable for the whole family. You can rent chairs and umbrellas, and you can spend the whole day perfectly.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, great sea, excellent services in general.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, I would come back again!
Fantastic experience: Nice, swimming-friendly sandy beach with plenty of place.
Fantastic experience: My favorite beach in Tenerife! The waves are amazing there! On the way to the beach, you also find the reeds. I love Tenerife!
Fantastic experience: The photos are from a friend who came on vacation to Tenerife and she liked it a lot.
Positive experience: Troya Beach is very nice, but they should take care of, among other things, the Troya Ravine, where all kinds of waste are thrown and also the bad smell of stagnant water. On the other hand, they should control street vendors on Troya Beach, where you are offered different services: Mandalas, glasses, bracelets, fruits, candies, soft drinks, liquors, hairstyles, massages. It can be pretty annoying to hear for hours: MELON MELON, PINEAPPLE, BEER BEER, MOJITO, SEX ON THE BEACH, MASSAGE.
Positive experience: Beach with black sand, equipped with sunbeds, showers... there is a public parking nearby at Palm Beach Hotel... the sunbeds cost 6 euros...
Fantastic experience: Large and well-kept beach. Possibility to lay down the towel or take the umbrella with two sun loungers. Dark sandy beach and accessible sea without the need for water shoes. Sandy bottom.
Fantastic experience: Beach that follows Las Americas. Young crowd. Music at full volume. From the beach, you arrive directly at the nightlife of Las Veronica's further towards the center.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach, 12 euros for 2 sunbeds and a umbrella
Fantastic experience: One of the few sandy beaches equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place with straw umbrellas and very comfortable sunbeds. Fine black sand and beautiful sea with clean water. Wonderful place.
Positive experience: Nice beach, sun loungers are €6 each near a store with cold drinks and a mini beach bar.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful and well-maintained beach, great holiday area to have a relaxing vacation. Highly recommended!
Positive experience: The sandy beach is well maintained and sunbeds can be rented for €6. As is the case almost everywhere, there is little to no shade on the beach away from the water, depending on the position of the sun. Every visitor must be aware that this section of the beach, along with the beaches to the left and right of Playa de Troya, is the tourist hotspot. Consequently, with the number of tourists, the number of shops and restaurants along the promenade also increases. Nice for strolling, but for regular visits, I would prefer a beach a bit further away.
Fantastic experience: Excellent calm and family experience.
Fantastic experience: Loved the beach, waves and view. You have everything you need around you.
Fantastic experience: Fine black sand, sun, and clean cool water, there's nothing better.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach! Plenty of space and very fine sand!
Fantastic experience: Beach very well equipped with different shops nearby, very comfortable for walking with family, partner, or solo.
Fantastic experience: Great
Fantastic experience: Small sheltered beach and close to everything.. I recommend
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, the only downside is that it is very windy.
Negative experience: Fairly clean beach with predominantly rocky ground from Arona to Playa de las Americas. However, the well-designed but heavily used promenade is a paradise for criminals in its entirety. The local police station deals all day with the tourists who have been robbed there. The place does too little against organized crime, apart from having police patrols and uniformed officers at key points. An older police officer mocked the robbed tourists multiple times at the police station, deliberately calling them out with Spanish numbers (38, 39, 40), indicating that they did not know who was meant. Arrogance like we have not experienced in any other country.
Positive experience: Love Troya Beach, it's a firm favourite for my family and I. Plenty of room even though it's a busy beach in high season. Being on the Atlantic, the water can be a bit rougher than in other places even with the breakwaters, but that's all part of the fun for us. Beware the fine black sand though, it infiltrates everything and being dark can be hot underfoot!
Positive experience: Sorry clean beach. The price now is 6€ per person, but no toilets (included in price, have to pay 1€ extra) and even water to wash your feet. Every moment of the day gets disturbed by the abusive vendors.
Fantastic experience: Nice, big beach, warm water in February. Kids who can't even swim can freely go into the water. Lots of shops and restaurants around. I recommend it.
Fantastic experience: It's the best beach in the world.
Positive experience: Nice beach near the street noise, nothing like in the nature, but why not. Gray sand, waves coming from the sea. Free access, you can stay laying on your towel or pay 12 € for two sunbeds and one umbrella. No free toilets, you have to pay 1 €.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful. Ocean breeze. Sea dust in the air. Underground parking.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with fine sand, suitable for small children. Cost 6 euros per sunbed, for the whole day. Wonderful weather at Christmas and New Year - 24° during the day, 19° at night.
