Information

Playa Las Galgas is a small and cozy public beach, surrounded by rocks and featuring a mixture of sand and stones. Here are some highlighted features:

  • Beautiful views: The beach offers stunning sunset views, perfect for a relaxing evening.
  • Clean and clear water: Many visitors appreciate the clarity of the water, great for swimming.
  • Serenity: It is often less crowded, making it an ideal spot for peace and quiet.

However, there are some drawbacks:

  • Lack of facilities: The beach has no showers or toilets, making it less convenient for families.
  • Rocky entry: The entrance to the sea can be uncomfortable due to stones, so wearing water shoes is recommended.

Fantastic experience: Bellissima spiaggetta turistica per passare qualche ora in relax, ben protetta dai venti e dalle onde. Facilmente raggiungibile e con grande parcheggio nelle vicinanze.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful little volcanic black sand beach. Also beautiful and very well made walkways around and leading to it, great for a sunset stroll or run.

Positive experience: The beach 'Las Galgas' is a beautiful beach. It is located among rocks and is a magical place to watch the sunset. However, there is a serious pollution problem on this beach. The water was full of microplastics and during a small walk I took around the beach, I collected a large amount of cigarette butts. It's a shame that when you look at the ground, there are more cigarette butts than rocks. I hope people become aware of this and bring some container to dispose of the butts. It's not that hard!

Fantastic experience: This beach is a true gem, especially for those who enjoy exploring marine life and natural beauty. The rocky shoreline adds a unique, rugged charm to the landscape, creating a striking contrast with the vibrant blue hues of the crystal-clear water. The water clarity is exceptional, offering perfect conditions for snorkeling enthusiasts. You can easily spot a variety of fish species swimming just beneath the surface, making it feel like you’re stepping into a natural aquarium. Snorkeling here is a must-do activity. The abundance of marine life is remarkable, with schools of colorful fish gliding through the water, offering an incredible underwater experience. The rocks along the shore create plenty of nooks and crannies, attracting different sea creatures and making the snorkeling adventure even more interesting. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced snorkeler, the calm waters provide an ideal setting for all skill levels. Aside from the fantastic snorkeling, the beach itself offers a peaceful atmosphere. The rocky shoreline may not be the best for lounging, but it adds to the sense of adventure and discovery. If you’re looking for a place to connect with nature, this beach is perfect. You can spend hours exploring the underwater world or simply relaxing by the water, soaking in the stunning views. Overall, this beach is a haven for snorkelers and nature lovers. The combination of clear water, diverse marine life, and the rocky shore creates an unforgettable coastal experience. Whether you're here for the snorkeling or the serene environment, it’s a destination you won’t want to miss.

Positive experience: Nice and quiet, not sandy, it's gravel. You have to figure out the changing area by yourself. There are tides, the kids really liked it, especially the waves, which were about 20 cm, but they took all the sandcastles back into the water, the excitement lasted a long time.

Positive experience: The beach is sandy-stony, it's better to enter the water in shoes if possible. On a sunny day, the sand gets very hot. A wonderful place for observing the underwater world: many beautiful fish, crabs, and we even saw an octopus. A huge downside: the lack of a toilet, only two trash bins. Plus: there's a playground nearby. Gorgeous view.

Positive experience: We stayed next to the beach, not suitable for a family vacation with children - the entry is unsafe, there are rocks, it's uncomfortable even for adults. The sunsets are amazing, the promenade along the sea is also nice, but I wouldn't travel just for this beach) there is a lot of interesting vegetation along the promenade, a new children's playground, but only 4 climbing structures.

Positive experience: Calm but small beach, you can go there and have a little relaxing swim in the water. The only reason I gave it -1 star is because there’s a hotel behind it which will play music throughout the day, sometimes absurdly loud…

Negative experience: It is a small calm beach by the resort area. There is a small sand strip and going to water is quite uncomfortable with all the stones. I really recommend using water shoes going swimming there. Easy to get there as there is a parking lot quite close (on the hill).

Fantastic experience: Great quiet beach with not many people around. It’s made of sand and at the end are some small pebbles/stones. There are indeed no bars, beds, toilets, etc. at the beach, but honestly I found that rather pleasant! I don’t like big crowded, busy, noisy beaches and our apartment was just uphill (AirBnB). Came here for a few weeks in a row and it’s always pleasant and very clean and never busy. For swimming I would highly recommend water shoes and swimming at high tide is easier then with the low tide, because of the big stones that are hidden in the water. Swimming is not dangerous at all, as long as you don’t swim across the two big rocks on each side. From there the tide is more powerful and you might need a little bit more experienced, but other then that it’s perfect. I saw a lot of families with small children too, and it seemed perfectly suitable for them with their stroller and babies/toddlers to be at this beach. A lot of families returned almost every day. Overall, if you’re looking for a quiet, clean, sand beach that gives you the paradise feeling, I would definitely recommend this one. If you, however, like more buzz, bars, lounge chairs, I would recommend going to Los Christianos or Las Americas.
