Fantastic experience: It is a very family-friendly beach with a good atmosphere. You can get there by bus but not by subway, so it doesn't get as crowded in high season compared to other beaches. There are restaurants and bars, not beach bars. There are areas with children's games. There is plenty of parking which is regulated during the season. There are services available in season.
Positive experience: I understand that the more amenities there are, the more crowded it would become... but, it wouldn't hurt to have some sun loungers and umbrellas ⛱️ A kiosk to cool off a bit (without bar access would be sufficient)

Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach, ideal for a long walk along the shore. There is a paid parking nearby.

Fantastic experience: Valencia beaches this Thursday, July 4, 2024. For Patacona beach, facing the sea, to your right you have all the amenities you can find on a beach: beach volleyball courts, showers, foot wash stations, lifeguard posts, snack bars... to your left, if you move a little, you have a slightly wilder beach where dogs are allowed, and the waves allow you to surf. So, everyone can find their own spot according to their taste. There are parking spaces along the shore, there are even attendants!!!
Negative experience: Beautiful beach but you can't go anywhere with dogs, not even on a leash. We always went to the far end where there is no one and the police always come to kick us out. According to them, there are signs that say it's not allowed, but after the last beach bar and before portsaplaya there's nothing. Valencia is simply not pet-friendly. The police, instead of taking care of the beach, the people who litter a lot, or more important matters, only focus on making things uncomfortable and fining people with dogs; their work is very unserious.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, very clean, with vegetation, not as crowded as the central beaches. Ideal to visit by bus and get to know it.. sand and dreamy water!!!

Positive experience: Honestly, I expected something different. I went on a Sunday and found it very neglected, very dirty, littered with waste everywhere, unfortunately. This is certainly the fault of people who irresponsibly leave their trash lying around. I also didn't see any maintenance or police. Moreover, there were many people drinking from big bottles and blasting music, invading the space of others. Honestly, if you want to be calm and relax, don't go to Patacona. Not to mention the spontaneous soccer players who set up a game right next to you, disregarding children and the elderly.
Positive experience: So much free beach with sand. Showers, small showers, bins, and first aid available.
Positive experience: Very good for sunbathing. Many waves, very calm, it has places to clean your sandy feet when you're leaving. You can set up awnings.

Fantastic experience: It is one of my favourite beach spots in the world. It’s the closest Spanish version of Malibu Beach. It was calm and peaceful from September to May and hectic and packed from June to August. You have some excellent paella restaurants on the beach walk, and during the summer season, you get to enjoy 'Chiringitos' on the beach.

Negative experience: A very quiet beach, fine sand, but you can't enjoy the sea well. Since there are jellyfish and A LOT OF FISH everywhere along the shore, and to top it off, a really ugly animal came out, and according to what they found out, it was a sea slug. The police looked for a lifeguard and they took it away in a bucket! Very bad beach to enjoy bathing in the sea.
Positive experience: Está bastante bien. No es un agua muy clara pero está limpia. Sin algas, sin rocas y sin conchas o piedras. Oleaje mínimo. Hay varios socorristas repartidos por toda la playa. Se aparca con cierta dificultad en los lugares gratuitos. En los estacionamientos de pago se encuentra sitio facilmente y con tarifas de 2€ por casi 4 horas aprox.
Fantastic experience: Me ha encantado, cada que puedo prefiero esta playa, es muy limpia, tranquila, con varios chiringuitos y con salvavidas presentes, la arena es muy finita cosa que para mi gusto es agradable, en el agua no hay piedras que puedan lastimar tus pies pero si hay bastantes olas ☺️

Así como zona para la práctica de deportes. Recorre enfrente el Paseo Marítimo peatonal con buen mobiliario urbano, y servicios de Restauración, Cafeterías, Orxateria, y Aparcamiento Público
Fantastic experience: Multitud de servicios. Una playa de diez. Chiringuitos varios, zonas de deporte apartada de la zona de baño, duchas, papeleras, vigilantes y socorristas, fácil aparcamiento, acceso a minusválidos casi hasta el agua, la policía patrulla la zona asiduamente. Una de las mejores playas de Valencia y en zona urbana. Paseo marítimo para pasear y hacer deporte.

So, everyone can find their own spot according to their taste. There are parking spaces along the shore, there are even attendants!!!
Positive experience: A beach that a few years ago was a delight, now the beach bars, surfing, and tourists take over. Impossible to park if you live in the area, and if you pay by the hour, you might find a spot, during the months of May, June, July, and August. If you're looking for peace and quiet, go somewhere else. Sundays feel unbearable. The sunrises throughout the rest of the year are fantastic.
Positive experience: Patacona is the cutest little beach town at the end of Malva Rosa. I took off one star because it is so tiny and the surrounding area is not lovely... There are about 5 restaurants here that are sooo adorable!! The girafe, Las Mas bonitas, Cocoa, Banana Beach and more. The staff are friendly. On the weekends, a few little tents pop up with knick knacks like books, jewlery, knitted goods and a few other things. The beach during the summer has really cute pop up retsaurants on it and there is a SUP and surf rental company that gives lessons and classes. The beach is topless but bottoms are required. A lot of people come here to chill, play volleyball on the beach or swim. The ocean is warm during the summer and starts to cool down in September. The beach is clean for the most part. There are occasional cigarette butts and these tiny spiders. No one will bother you at the beach except these people selling blankets and massages but overall its really safe. There is a bus stop conveniently located right next to Patacona so there is easy access both in and out of this area. There are also a lot of cabs available. It is about an hour bus ride from the city of Valencia and a 25 minute car ride. There are a few buses that will take you straight into the city without having to stop (31 for example). The beach next door (Malva Rosa) is more crowded and filled with younger people. Patacona is more relaxed, has a lot of tourists from the UK, locals and in general an older crowd. I highly recommend this beach if you are looking for a nicer beach in Valencia.

Zona en la arena para volar cometas, zona señalizada para entrar con canoas, tablas de surf y padel surf. Chiringuitos en la playa, zona de juegos y deportes. Aunque la zona de juegos infantil es bastante escasa, ya que solo hay dos parques en la arena y una araña para trepar. Suele quemar, por lo que no podemos sacarle todo el partido que nos gustaría. La playa no cubre mucho, por lo que a las enanas les encanta jugar en la orilla con las olas y la arena. El paseo marítimo muy amplio, aunque las palmera son tan altas que ya no dan sombras. Con lavapies y duchas, pero deja de salir agua (sábado 2 de la tarde). Paseo de tablas hasta más de mitad de la arena. Y bastantes papeleras Los bares, restaurantes y chiringuitos bastante caros (10€ un mojito en vaso ancho, y aguado). Si vas dos calles alejadas de la playa, los restaurantes tienen calidad y mejor precio.

Positive experience: I have been to the beach in Valencia (about the place), which has one very large beach that is divided into several parts. Based on the three areas I visited, there is no significant difference between them, all have free showers, and some have restrooms available on the beach. If you want to be right by the sea, I recommend arriving at least between 9 and 10 AM, after 10 AM it starts getting crowded, especially more at the beginning of the beach by the sea. For me, the beach is 3/5, because during the entire time from July 15 to 25, there was wind blowing, some days more, others less, there were always waves and the water itself was a more greenish brown color due to the sand. 4/5 for the better feeling of safety, as police are present, patrolling the beach every few hours, so there are not many, or very few, vendors selling drinks, towels, etc., who can be quite annoying at some beaches.

Fantastic experience: Peaceful, beautiful, not very crowded, in summary, I liked it a lot.
Negative experience: Inform yourself before swimming. Many problems due to sewage discharges. On 07/10/24, my family spends the day and that same afternoon swimming is prohibited. On 07/11/24, my 10-year-old son has acute gastroenteritis. According to the news, in June the beach was closed for swimming three times due to water quality issues. Be very careful! Update: On 07/12, my wife starts with the same symptoms and my daughter on the night of 07/13. Viral gastroenteritis. The sewage discharges, which led to Alboraya closing the beach for swimming on the afternoon of 07/10, are highly likely to be the cause. The irrigation ditches of Alboraya discharge into the beaches without adequate treatment, and so far this year, the beach has been closed for swimming on four occasions.

Negative experience: Expensive loungers (€8), the umbrella must also be paid for separately, also €8. There is no public toilet nearby. There are two, but they are locked or broken. We asked in two restaurants, and we were also not allowed to go to the toilet there. We also asked in the university building, and we were not allowed to go to the toilet there either. This is an absolute outrage. What does the city think where all the people should go to the toilet? It all ends up in the sea.
Positive experience: The beach is nice, the promenade is not modern.. there are not as many restaurants as on the neighboring beach. But I like it here more, precisely because there are not as many people. The only question and reason for the low ratings is - where are the toilets? Why are they closed? The beach map indicates 4 locations!!!4!!! And it says that the toilet season starts on May 27. But people have already been sitting on the beach since April! Crowds of people! And should the restaurants bear the whole burden of the toilets? Once we had to walk almost half an hour with a child from one end of the beach to the other, facing closed toilets! Can anyone explain what the problem is? Does the administration have no money for staff? For maintenance? Has the technical ability to maintain toilets on the beach disappeared? Or what is the reason?

Fantastic experience: La Patacona is superior to Malvarrosa, the only difficult thing is finding parking, but it has a better atmosphere!
Fantastic experience: A typical place in Valencia, it is the Ocean Drive of the city. You can breathe Mediterranean with its unparalleled temperature and light.
Positive experience: Small place with some nice restaurants and the beach of course, which is not too ugly in this part of the shore, compared to the rest of the beaches in Valencia.
Fantastic experience: This beach is one of the best that Valencia has, it connects to Malvarrosa but the main attraction is that it is more secluded and this is a plus, in front you can see the luxury buildings which gives you a feeling of being in Miami. PS: I went in search of the colorful houses for a photo but they weren’t there, I don’t know if they removed them but keep this in mind.
