Castros Beach

Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach next to the cathedrals and with the same rock formations. It is large and has a restaurant almost at the beach. There is a large parking lot nearby. Be careful with the tides because it rises very quickly and can flood your towel and belongings if you go for a walk or are careless. I recommend going only when the tide is low since the beach disappears with high tide. It has showers and public restrooms.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach with a peculiar access through a cave that leads to the beach. From there, during very low tides, you can walk to the beach of the cathedrals. It's a very interesting walk because you can enjoy the action of the sea on the rocks, creating cavities and other formations worth seeing.

Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, close to the Cathedral beach. It's worth getting closer to see it. There is a kind of passage under the rock to access the beach from the showers. Recommended.

Fantastic experience: Good beach, with an entrance through the mountains... be careful when the tide comes in... you can see some really cool sunsets. There are bathrooms, but they are not open, only the customers of the beach bar above can use them... something I don't understand because they are down on the beach. There is free parking in front.

Negative experience: Nice but dogs cannot go down all summer until September 15th, definitely the period to avoid. Kids with balls can.

Positive experience: Pequeña pero preciosa playa gallega en las cercanías de Ribadeo, muy cerquita también de la famosa playa de Las Catedrales. Está dividida en dos partes, la más oriental tiene algo más de arena en pleamar, mientras que la más occidental apenas queda playa cuando la marea está alta. Es abierta, con buen oleaje para quien guste de ello. En los accesos hay un chiringuito en el que poder tomar algo y comer. Hay buen sitio para aparcar el coche.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place. At low tide, it is quite spacious, but not one of the widest. It is quiet and very family-friendly. And of course, its typical rocks from the beaches in the area. It has a magnificent entrance cave. We went to visit the Catedrales and then came here to enjoy a day on the fine sand. And it was a great decision. My son enjoyed a lot in the puddles. As for the sea, better from a distance... In the Cantabrian Sea, there are many waves.

Fantastic experience: It's beautiful, the sand is fine, nice to see, stroll, and hang out. It's important to check the tide before going; when it's high there's barely any beach. Spectacular sunset photos without knowing photography. The only downside is that we came two years ago and it was half empty, and this year it's already full, a pity but there are few places that aren't crowded, of course. It's definitely worth it even with people.

Fantastic experience: Hay que bajar escaleras para acceder a Playa Os Castros frente al chiringuito de siempre dónde tomarse un Albariño con unas costillas por ejemplo, o lo que se te ocurra :-) Cuidado con desprendimientos de rocas o piedras al pasar por debajo del tunel de piedra que da acceso a la playa en marea baja. Sobre todo cuando llueve y hay viento. Estan los carteles avisando. Aseos y duchas en temporada alta.

Fantastic experience: Playa preciosa,muy comoda. Ubicada entre entre acantilados y cuevas en un entorno precioso. Muy amplia,de arenas blancas y finas y aguas turquesas.Ambiente familiar.

Positive experience: Fantastic beach if the Nordes doesn't blow (difficult in this area). Fine white sand and very wide at low tide. The access under the rock is one of the best and very photogenic. In low season, even better!

Fantastic experience: Maravillosa, igual de bonita (o más) que la de las Catedrales pero muchísimo menos masificada. Y el chiringuito, parada obligatoria!

Fantastic experience: It is less spectacular than the one at the Cathedrals, but the cliffs are stunning. They are a little higher than the Cathedrals, I recommend going down and passing through the hole on the beach to the right and from there continuing to the left to appreciate the magnitude of the cliffs. You can also have a drink or eat something at the beach bar, which is less crowded than the one at the Cathedrals, although the view from the other bar is better.

Negative experience: Playa súper bonita, pero hemos ido con la perra poniéndonos en una esquina del fondo solas a la sombra y alejadas, y el socorrista nos ha venido a echar con muy malas formas.

Fantastic experience: Lugar impresionante, precioso a la vez que peligroso para el baño. Hay muchos socorristas pero hay que entrar con precaución, ellos continuamente te van orientando de donde puedes bañarte y donde no. Mis felicitaciones para tod@s ell@s!

Fantastic experience: La playa es estupenda, con la marea baja. Está justo al lado de la playa de las catedrales y tiene todos los servicios, baños, socorrista, recomendamos ir con marea baja y prontito que luego se llena de gente y es difícil aparcar

Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach, although not very large. The low tide leaves a very wide access between several crevices, which become isolated when the tide rises. It is very similar to the beach of the Cathedrals but without the overcrowding. The access to the beach is quite interesting, going down some stairs to the water level, where the restrooms and showers are, then crossing through a cave in the rock to go directly to the beach. This access can have more or less water, depending on the tide. Another interesting part is to the right, where the waves break in two directions, leaving marks like a cross.

Fantastic experience: Fantástica playa de arena fina y aguas cristalinas. Muy divertida para niños y adultos. Tiene duchas, servicios y un chiringuito cercano.
