Information

The Playa de Cadavedo is a charming little beach known for its stunning scenery and unique character. Here are some highlights:

  • Beautiful scenery: Surrounded by cliffs, this beach offers impressive views and a picturesque setting.
  • Access and facilities: There are parking areas nearby, along with restrooms and showers. However, parking can be limited during peak times.
  • Local cuisine: Enjoy delicious seafood dishes at the nearby chiringuito, specifically praising its quality and service.
  • Surfing: This location is a popular spot for surfing, making it ideal for enthusiasts.

However, there are some shortcomings to consider:

  • Many users noted the beach is primarily rocky, making it uncomfortable during visits, especially without proper footwear.
  • The water quality has been questioned at times, with reports of algae and unpleasant odors.
  • During high tide, much of the sand area is submerged, leaving only stones, which can limit activities for families.

Despite some criticisms, Playa de Cadavedo remains a wonderful destination for nature lovers and those in search of a unique beach experience.

Positive experience: We were staying with a local and they took us to this beach for a swim and lunch. We were there when it was low tide and there was a lot of sand. At high tide you have to be on the stones. We had a nice swim although the sea temperature was cool (17 degs) even though it was mid August. We were there on a calm surf day but it was still good for the kids to learn. It is amongst all the cliffs and it is a steep drive down. There is enough parking but it can be very full at midday.

Fantastic experience: I loved this beach! Feels like I’m suddenly in Thailand or something. The beach has lots of parking - the sign says maximum 2 meters height but that’s not the case, we could easily access with our campervan. There’s a restaurant with nice seafood and good waves for surfing. Will be back one day!

Fantastic experience: ‍♂️ Hidden Surf Paradise Playa de Cadavedo is one of those underrated gems you’ll want to keep secret. ✅ Good surf conditions when the swell is right – uncrowded and clean breaks ️ Free public parking nearby ‍♂️ Easy walk down to the beach Epic coastal views from the top – you can watch surfers riding the waves below Dog-friendly beach ❌ No public toilets or showers – bring what you need For more tips follow me on Google. Fantastic experience: If you take the northern route, this beach is a must-stop. The best views from the hermitage.

Negative experience: Many stones. Very uncomfortable. The bathroom is very dangerous. The cliff is crumbling. Little parking space. Update: They are also now fining for speed and for caravans.

Fantastic experience: It is very beautiful, it has a large parking lot, and the beach has beautiful views. The only downside is that they don’t allow dogs, like in almost all the beaches of Asturias.

Fantastic experience: Un paisaje increíble con lo mejor de la costa asturiana, tiene poca arena y mucho canto pero está enclavada entre dos acantilados que lo hace un lugar casi mágico. La única pega que no admiten perros en temporada.

Enith Reynalte 3 years ago

Positive experience: Preciosas vistas. Se aparca estupendamente y tiene chiringuito. Lo malo es que no admiten mascotas

Negative experience: Exaggeratedly crowded. Limited parking. Fines for campers, no sand, and it runs out of sunlight quickly. Better in pictures than in reality.

Fantastic experience: Agradable playa del occidente asturiano. Bien comunicada. Salida de la autopista y acceso rodado. Parking, merenderos, parrillas, baños, duchas, socorristas y chiringuito.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful place. Watching the sea. In a spectacular setting, the scallops with cabrales, the bonito, zamburiñas, razor clams... everything is delicious. Good price and very good service.

Positive experience: A beautiful beach with a nice road to it, the only minus is a steep walk without sidewalks from it back to town. Not for you if you want sandy beaches
