Giverola Cove
Information
Cala Giverola is a beautiful beach located near Tossa de Mar, surrounded by cliffs and pine trees. Visitors have praised its crystal-clear waters and the ideal conditions for snorkeling and kayaking. It's a great family-friendly spot, with nearby facilities such as a beach bar and options for renting water sports equipment.
However, there are some drawbacks. Many users have criticized the high parking fees, reaching up to €30, which has been labeled as excessive. The beach can also get quite crowded, especially in peak season. Access to the beach involves a bit of a walk from parking areas, and some users noted that there are stones at the water's edge, making entry into the water challenging.
Overall, Cala Giverola is a picturesque place worth visiting, especially if you arrive early to enjoy a more peaceful experience.

Positive experience: Very nice beach, nice atmosphere. Good for families. Nice snorkeling too. Has a beach bar and restaurant, but did not make use of that. Hope that you're lucky to park alongside the road, other wise you're stuck with paying a ridiculous €30! However, parking is free after 18.00.
Negative experience: 30 euros for parking. ABUSIVE for a public beach and parking with NO SUPERVISION. Otherwise, it is very beautiful, but they are overpriced for what it is.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove. We had to pay €30 for parking but it was worth it. It has a beach bar and rental of water sports equipment. Crystal clear waters. Ideal for snorkeling. It is easily accessible, making it an excellent place for families with small children.
Positive experience: Nice cove but you will need to be patient to access it as it is reserved for residents. 20 minutes of walking from the road. The beach is clean, no sunbeds available for rent, a grocery store and a snack bar nearby.
Negative experience: It's a very beautiful cove but overcrowded, we won't be back, and also the parking costs €30.

Positive experience: very beautiful cove. but they do NOT allow dogs. I warn because I didn't find any information in reviews but there is a sign at the entrance. keep in mind that dogs are NOT allowed.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, less expensive water activities than other areas, lovely sand (not a pebble beach), and snorkeling (not much by way of colorful fish in this part of the med period, but did see a red starfish!). A word to the wise, all parts of this beach are not equal; walk it to find the finest sand both in the water and out.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach, with all nearby services and a great atmosphere
Positive experience: We went by boat, the cove is nice, but there is only one restaurant to eat at which belongs to a hotel and if you don't make a reservation, you won't get to eat. The entry into the water is tricky, as it is full of rocks and in less than a meter it covers you completely.
Positive experience: The cove itself is very pretty, with sea caves that you can explore by kayak or go snorkeling (they rent kayaks at the beach for 10e for an individual kayak for 1 hour). There is a restaurant and a beach bar, plus a bathing area... Now about parking... I have been living in Cala Giverola for years and this year they are going too far with the prices, it feels more and more like a place just for tourists because of the hotel that is up on that cove... About parking, each year they raise the prices even more than the previous one, in other years it was 7e for a motorbike and 15e for a car, last year 2023 it was 10e for a motorbike and 20e for a car, this year in 2024 to park a motorbike it’s 15e and a car 30e... where has it been seen to pay 30e for a public beach parking and a parking lot without any surveillance?... that’s not even worth renting the kayaks from that beach... abusive and totally out of place their pricing!!!!
Fantastic experience: Great beach with finer sand than the beaches in Tossa, still rocky, but much fewer stones. Very easy to get there by boat from Tossa. Beach bar, and great opportunities for snorkeling and finding caves nearby.

Negative experience: Beautiful cove. Clear and clean water (except for some plastic bags and containers that people throw...). The parking, in my opinion, is expensive, €15 for 10 hours that you obviously are not going to stay. Another downside, super crowded... the camping managers should sell with a limited capacity, as safety measures are not respected at any time... they prefer to fill their pockets without considering people's health.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach to relax and enjoy some fresh breeze from the ocean. The views are amazing, you can get there by boat from Tossa de Mar which also goes through some beautiful caves before arriving here.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful coves in Tossa, a bit far to walk, we went by boat and it is a quite recommended option. Very clear waters, no jellyfish.
Fantastic experience: We accessed this beach through the Crystal Fund and the beach did not disappoint, with crystal clear and warm waters and plenty of fish at the bottom.

Fantastic experience: One of the best coves out there, clean and crystal-clear waters, perfect for snorkeling or paddle surfing, it has a beach bar that makes spectacular paellas, advice is to go very early because it gets very crowded and it's small.
Positive experience: Playa/cala bonita.

Positive experience: Very exclusive place. However, for those of us who are not tourists, the prices paid here are a bit high, like for example €3.50 for a coffee. I recommend going outside of the summer season, as otherwise they will charge you 20 euros just to access the cove by car when leaving the road from Tossa to Sant Feliu. The curious thing is that once you enter, the parking lots are in a free zone. A real business that allows a few to fill their pockets indiscriminately. Ideal place to practice kayaking and diving. I also recommend bringing water as otherwise they will charge you €3.50 for 33cl. Welcome to Cala Giverola, welcome to Ibiza.
Fantastic experience: Playar bonita lugar tranquilo y relajado diversion total
Fantastic experience: Worth seeing, with diving googles can you see a lot of sea creatures, fishies near the beach (very close, barely you enter in sea) AMAZING!

Fantastic experience: Spectacular!!!
Positive experience: Seems like a really nice place, you can spend a few hours here according to the brochure. We didn't do that because the atmosphere was bad.
Positive experience: Very beautiful cove, but the music from the system is terrible. Such a pity! Strange that it is allowed to be this loud.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent ❤️
Negative experience: A disappointment... I was expecting something else.
Positive experience: A pretty cove

Fantastic experience: very beautiful place. recommended if you travel to Tossa
Fantastic experience: Possibility of a boat trip from this beach to Tossa del Mar
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove. We had to pay €30 for parking but it was worth it. It has a beach bar and rental of water sports equipment. Crystal clear waters. Ideal for snorkeling. It is easily accessible, making it an excellent place for families with small children.

Fantastic experience: Gorgeous beach. We were really impressed. If you're nearby, you definitely need to visit it. We arrived by cruise from Tossa de Mar. There are restaurants on the beach.
Negative experience: It's a very beautiful cove but overcrowded, we won't be back, and also the parking costs €30.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove near Tossa de Mar. Bad for parking, but if you wake up early there are spots along the road near the exit to the cove. If not, you'll have to pay €30 for parking.....
Positive experience: The cove is wonderful and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a shame that paying €30 for parking in summer hurts a bit... But the cove is very beautiful and there is a rental service for kayaks, snorkeling, and similar activities.
Fantastic experience: Super clean water.
Negative experience: The thing is there are many stairs
Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach, with all nearby services and a great atmosphere
Negative experience: It seems like a rip-off to me, €30 for car parking and €15 for the motorcycle, and NO installment payment is allowed... armed robbery, what a shame!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful cove, parking costs money but it's worth it.
Positive experience: The cove is nice but paying €30 to park the car is nuts, remember it was €10 like 2/3 years ago, you can leave your car next to the road IF it's not too busy so don’t waste your money
Positive experience: We went by boat, the cove is nice, but there is only one restaurant to eat at which belongs to a hotel and if you don't make a reservation, you won't get to eat. The entry into the water is tricky, as it is full of rocks and in less than a meter it covers you completely.

Negative experience: We have been coming to this cove for about 25 years. From a quiet family cove with crystal clear waters and FREE ACCESS, it has become a more... overcrowded beach, with ruined seabeds and waters, and free access hijacked by the hotel facilities of a lifetime that now extorts fees to access a public beach. A shame, sadness, and despair at leaving a cove that has been part of our lives.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove with clean water and sandy beach. There is rental for paddle surfing, kayaks, and catamarans. Nearby are many caves that can only be accessed from the sea. A very beautiful place.
Positive experience: To access the parking they charge €20 no matter what time you go, even if there is 1 hour left until they open the gate for everyone; it's not worth paying to go there. The beach is fairly clean, you can tell that tourist boats keep arriving, which makes the bottom stirred up. There is a pool that belongs to the hotel, and the lifeguard is very unfriendly.
Fantastic experience: Very nice, it would be worth staying at the hotel, it will be for next time.
Fantastic experience: An exceptional place, especially out of season I imagine, but it is also possible to have a lot of fun in the summer if you are an early riser as it is rather calm between 9 am and 10:30 am. The paid parking is to be avoided as it is now €30 for summer 2024. It’s a shame. There is still the option to park along the road. Access is possible further up by a small steep path, but I did it with 2 children aged 6 and 2, so it's not impossible. You can park at the ‘area’ where the waste containers are. Spaces are obviously limited. Enjoy!
Fantastic experience: A beautiful picturesque place
Fantastic experience: Really beautiful place
Fantastic experience: Nice trip by boat and you are dropped off at the beach, you can be picked up every hour to go back.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent! A little tip, parking is free after 6 PM and there are fewer people on the beach. Ideal to enjoy this magical place.
Fantastic experience: Great beach with finer sand than the beaches in Tossa, still rocky, but much fewer stones. Very easy to get there by boat from Tossa. Beach bar, and great opportunities for snorkeling and finding caves nearby.
Negative experience: The only nice thing is the view, this beach is very nice looking, that's all. - NO fine sand besides other reviews, the sand is so coarse that you need shoes to walk comfortably on it - 30 Euros entrance fee, which is covering only the parking, nothing else included - difficult entrance into the water, too many stones and sharp rocks getting into the water (it is a must to have swimming shoes) There is a hotel owning/managing this beach. You will have no access to the pool or sunbeds even if you are willing to pay extra. You must stay in the hotel to use these facilities. Is not worthy to go there. I want to mention one more thing. We've asked the guy at the barrier (who charges you the entrance fee) about stones on the beach, and he lies telling us that there are no stones, only nice fine sand....
Fantastic experience: brutal
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful!!!! I arrived there by a marine sightseeing boat, a very nice experience to have.
Negative experience: Beautiful cove, like a landscape. Dirty sand (rotten banana peels), with what they charge for parking, they could at least clean the sand (30€), the water was full of jellyfish.
Negative experience: All-day parking now costs 30 euros, the guy at the gate told us that the change is due to Rafael Nadal buying the area and a hotel. I find it despicable, isn't he rich enough?
Negative experience: Beautiful cove. Clear and clean water (except for some plastic bags and containers that people throw...). The parking, in my opinion, is expensive, €15 for 10 hours that you obviously are not going to stay. Another downside, super crowded... the camping managers should sell with a limited capacity, as safety measures are not respected at any time... they prefer to fill their pockets without considering people's health.
Positive experience: Beautiful cove in an unbeatable environment. Ideal for enjoying with family and doing water sports. You can park at some points on the road, but you have to arrive very early and then walk about 15 minutes to the site or use the paid parking, which also gets full. There is a one and a half hour walking path to reach Tossa. The place has several services and there is also a hotel there. You can access it with boats that come from Tossa like Fondo Cristal.
Fantastic experience: The cove is beautiful, but there are many stones now and the parking is very expensive, €30 a day.
Positive experience: Small cove, accessible by boat tour, coarse sand and stones. Quiet.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, sandy beach in a bay, surrounded by mountains. It has complete infrastructure while emanating tranquility.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach to enjoy a sunny day.
Positive experience: very beautiful cove. but they do NOT allow dogs. I warn because I didn't find any information in reviews but there is a sign at the entrance. keep in mind that dogs are NOT allowed.
Negative experience: You can no longer follow the coastal path from Cala Pola to Cala Guivarola. There is a campsite and two resorts in between. What a shame. Access is only possible through the resort or by boat. The free movement of people should be protected.
Positive experience: Don't go in August unless you're there at 5:30.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove of the Costa Brava with turquoise waters and coarse sand
Positive experience: Although it is beautiful and there is a lot of life for snorkeling, this beach is practically privatized by a resort. We entered with the glass-bottom boats, otherwise, access is very difficult.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful walk at sea
Positive experience: Very very beautiful cove, with turquoise water, cliffs on either side and fine sand. However, it should be noted that the cove has been 'privatized' by a hotel and you have to pay €20 for parking to access it. Furthermore, there is only one restaurant to eat, so consider bringing a snack if you don't want to go there. We were there in September so there were few people, but in the summer I understood that the cove is quite popular.
Positive experience: Beautiful cove, it was August and we didn't find it too crowded. Reached by boat after a cave tour.
Fantastic experience: Worth the boat trip to this little paradise
Positive experience: Clear waters. October 12. Not very crowded. Nice beach.
I also recommend bringing water as otherwise they will charge you €3.50 for 33cl. Welcome to Cala Giverola, welcome to Ibiza.
Fantastic experience: A spectacular cove, some stones when entering, but nothing bothersome, and a great place for snorkeling. It wasn't very crowded, we went by boat, but I've been told you can park nearby, there is also a beach bar where you can get a beer or something to eat.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place ❤️
Positive experience: Very beautiful cove
Positive experience: Super cove where we were dropped off by boat, but there is a great hotel on site.
Positive experience: A beautiful cove on the Costa Brava, parking is a bit expensive but the stay is worth it.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent cove, be careful you can access by a trail otherwise 20 euros for parking, free after 6 PM, several activities on site, the beach is clean and there are plenty of
Fantastic experience: Very cozy beach. Entrance (parking) 20 EUR. Regular boat service departs from here. In the evening, a DJ entertains on the beach. There are restrooms in the restaurant, and showers by the pool. There is also a slide at the nearby resort. Sun loungers are available for rent or you can choose to lie down freely.
Fantastic experience: I had my flip-flops stolen while I was swimming. I had to return barefoot on the motorcycle. Besides that, the cove is spectacular, like all the ones in the area.
Fantastic experience: Turquoise water, few people, ideal spot for snorkeling. A magical place.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful, if accessed with a boat with a transparent bottom, you visit the caves and then arrive at this beautiful beach.
Fantastic experience: Cala Giverola. A beautiful cove with turquoise and crystal-clear water, very colorful. It is the third cove you come across from Tossa de Mar when arriving by the coastal path. Let's get to the important part: Medium/fine sand with stones at the water's edge, I recommend water shoes. There are usually quite a few boats. Surrounded by a campsite, so it tends to be a bit crowded. You can rent some water activities. There is a parking lot up top, but it costs 20 euros, which is very overpriced. There are spots on the sides of the road to park, but I recommend going early. Perfect for snorkeling and SUP. There are several beach bars. One of the best coves in the area. Fantastic experience: Beautiful, clean beach. The water was crystal clear and warm. Good bar and restaurant available
Negative experience: A dreadful experience. Especially the pedal boats, which say they are available until 5 but leave whenever they want and have a bad attitude. The beach bars are expensive and of poor quality, and the umbrellas are only for the hotel. There is no good service.
Negative experience: You have to pay for parking €20 and then it's nothing out of this world, it’s full of seaweed, there’s a resort just below, scooters are rented but there’s a step that creates huge waves at the entrance to the sea, so if it’s a bit rough you won’t go in.
Fantastic experience: Very nice cove to be with family and go snorkeling. It has a beach bar and several restaurants.
Fantastic experience: One of the best coves out there, clean and crystal-clear waters, perfect for snorkeling or paddle surfing, it has a beach bar that makes spectacular paellas, advice is to go very early because it gets very crowded and it's small.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove. Crystal clear waters and fine sand. The surroundings are very nice, with a sunbed rental area. My favorite❤️ Ideal for snorkeling. There are large stones at the entrance, so I recommend wearing water shoes. We arrived by boat and I also recommend the trip there. It is not very crowded. There is a camping hotel where you can eat at its restaurant. We brought food, but the food looked good and the prices were not very high. Totally recommended to visit this maravilla de Cala.
Fantastic experience: Very, very beautiful cove, it also has a lovely camping site next to it! It does have a lot of small stones to enter and exit, but it's very nice! I leave you photos.
Positive experience: Nice beach. Coarse sand and stones. Clear water with a rich underwater flora and fauna. Snorkelling equipment is quite recommended. At the restaurant you need wait to be seated about 30 minutes. The menu is pizza and pasta. Nothing special. There is even no any green salad. The parking is quite busy even thought it costs 20 eur a day. We arrived at 12:30 and it was a miracle we were parked. So you need to come there earlier.
Fantastic experience: Nice beach near Tossa, we went here by ship
Fantastic experience: Gravelly sheltered beach, accessible by sea taxi from Tossa, great for swimming (if you avoid where the boats land every 30m) with lots of fish and occasional mostly harmless jellyfish. Bar on the beach prices are predictable for the location - €26 for two sangrias and three Pepsis...
Fantastic experience: Great beach, really quiet and free parking off season, although the amenities (restaurant, swimming pool and children’s playground are closed)
Fantastic experience: It's very pretty, it will be way more if there were not so many boats dropping people off. Try to go very early 9/930 and ran away around 1/2pm. Gets packed.
Positive experience: A great little beach cove with an ice-cream truck, restaurant and bar. The sea gets deep quickly. We drove, but there is a coastal path. The hotel next door looks decent too.
Fantastic experience: Paddled round to this beach by Kayak, absolutely beautiful
Negative experience: It's useless to pay 15 Euros for parking. There are other better beaches as compared to this one.
Fantastic experience: Day trip from Tossa. Loved it
Positive experience: It's a quiet, magnificent bay, with clear, crystal water and lush vegetation. A marvellous corner in Costa Brava.
Fantastic experience: Worth seeing, with diving googles can you see a lot of sea creatures, fishies near the beach (very close, barely you enter in sea) AMAZING!
Positive experience: Very beautiful bay, unfortunately with a ferry boat line accross the beach. It is very expensive to park your car there €13 and with moterbike €5. There is a vacation resort nearby. It is a Nice place to snorkel along to the great cliffs.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach! Took a boat from Tossa de Mar and spent the day here.
Fantastic experience: Super place swimming pool games and activities pleasantly surprised arriving on the boat trip from tossa de mar.
Fantastic experience: It is an amazing little isolated place. There are a few restaurants and a hotel. You can either go here by hiking or by a boat. It's not that far by hiking, just 1.5hrs. Boat is expensive as they are tourist boats with glass bottoms, which I would suggest to avoid if you are on a budget. The water is a bit warmer here. But there are lots of stones so a bit difficult to get into and out of the water... But once in, it's paradise. I went on a week day so there were few people.
Fantastic experience: Day trip from Tossa de Mar. More sandy beach and quieter. Surroundings are beautiful. Boat trip takes you round the coast and into some caves. Price is reasonable but why cause a fuss as your on holiday! Definitely worth a trip!
Positive experience: Soft sand with transparent water. Very beautiful.
Positive experience: Just hard to get in and enjiy the day with children. Scenery is amazing but the water park destroys the natural setup
Fantastic experience: Sandy beach, the sand here is thiner than Cala Pola or the beaches in Tossa de mar. The right side of the beach is sandier which makes the water look blue. The left side is rockier, with some small reefs. Perfect for snorkeling. The parking is 12€ for 1 day
