Rada Beach
Information
La Rada Beach is a stunning and wide sandy beach that stretches approximately 2.5 km. It features lifeguards on duty, allowing for a confident and safe experience. With several adjacent bars and restaurants, visitors can enjoy various dining options while lounging on the soft sand. However, some users have noted issues such as the presence of pebbles and sharp stones along the water's edge, which can make entering the water uncomfortable. Many complaints have been made regarding cleanliness, with reports of trash, seaweed, and even murky water at times. Additionally, shower facilities are lacking in maintenance, further detracting from the overall experience. Despite these challenges, the beach remains popular for family outings due to its size and the array of services available. The surrounding promenade is well-maintained, providing a lovely space for walks while enjoying beautiful sunsets.

Negative experience: Full of seaweeds. Parking is difficult and overpriced.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach. Lots of space. Some nice restaurants, shops and cafes along many stretches of it. Has huge play park which is great for kids. There’s good parking nearby.
Positive experience: Locals recommended La Rada Beach. It's a wide sand strand and is not as rocky as some other beaches. Rent plastic lounge chairs (sunbeds) placed under a small, thatched permanent umbrella on the beach. Price is reasonable (€10 for 2). Get there early to rent in the first row facing the sea. No towels for rent; you must bring your own. Umbrella stands have hooks to hang your wraps. Lifeguards patrol on the beach. Shower outdoors; water trickles out though with not much pressure; it's just enough to wash off the sand. Bathroom (toilet) and restaurant nearby. Water is cold at the end of June and is salty and murky with barely any waves. No crowds on Monday morning/afternoon. Vendors walk around (infrequently) selling sheets, sunglasses, jewelry, soft drinks and water. No trees or shelter on the beach unless you rent an umbrella. Wide promenade (boardwalk) along beach. Floating bounce house play area available (€15/person) on water for kids and adults. Mostly locals present on the beach; some with children. Have Google Translate ready as many staff members do not speak English. Also be warned: some locals go topless; plus, smokers all around - typical for Spain. Parking available on nearby streets.
Positive experience: The longest beach in Estepona with good facilities and numdrous chiringitos, easily accessible from the main Paseo
Fantastic experience: Lovely long boardwalk with lots of interesting little shops, cafés and restaurants on the way. Beautiful flowers and a huge play park for children.

No vuelvo.

Fantastic experience: Very long beach. It wasn't crowded. The beach is mostly sandy, but the entrance to the sea is full of rocks. The wind was blowing, so all the sand was blowing on people. Sun loungers were available at nearby bars. The beach has showers, lifeguards, and the market is very close.
Fantastic experience: Sun, sea and sand, what more can you want
Positive experience: Not the most attractive beach, with grey sand, but no litter which was good. When it's windy the fine sand blows everywhere! Facilities were OK, and the sea seemed quite clean.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, with a bit of an excess of stones but it has its charm, the walkway is wide, long, and clean.
Positive experience: Huge beach, it has some rocks, the shower water is cut off.

Fantastic experience: Estepona Beach is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the sun. The water and sand are consistently clean, making it perfect for a day out. While the showers weren’t working during our visit, the abundance of nearby restaurants along the promenade more than makes up for it, plenty of great options for food and drinks. The beach also has a Blue Flag certification, meaning it’s held to high environmental standards. Plenty of space to lounge, calm waters, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Very comfortable and clean beach to enjoy a few days of relaxation. Very well maintained, with beach bars all along the beach.
Fantastic experience: Very clean, quite calm water. Beach bars nearby with good prices and great food quality.
Positive experience: The place is quiet and is close to many restaurants! The water is not cold. The sand is a little grayish.

Fantastic experience: It is a quiet beach all year round, although in summer there are more people... It is close to the center with plenty of restaurants and entertainment around, safety...

Fantastic experience: A clean beach with a nice promenade in front. A small patch of pebbles at the shore, but you don’t need water shoes. They are mostly smooth pebbles. If you want, you can rent sunbeds and a cabana. The town of Estepona is also a recommendation. On Sundays, there is a market in the harbor. Very nice. Do come early, as it gets busy.

Positive experience: La Guincho è anche piena di scuole di surf e mi ha colpito molto il fatto che anche tanti bambini siano attratti da questo sport.

Negative experience: Playa ancha..

Rada Beach: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Very nice and very long beach, the entrance to the sea is comfortable, suitable for children! :) There is a promenade along the entire beach, where there are many attractions for children and adults :)

Sun loungers were available at nearby bars. The beach has showers, lifeguards, and the market is very close.
Fantastic experience: Sun, sea and sand, what more can you want
Positive experience: Beach that is sheltered from the wind
Positive experience: The beach is quite wide, not crowded. The sand is gray, not very clean, with a lot of cigarette butts and other trash. Also, the sea itself is not very clean closer to the shore. There are showers and amenities like sunbeds and umbrellas. There are many bars and restaurants nearby. A good place for walks along the shore.

Negative experience: What's up with these showers??? Why aren't they working at most beaches during the season? It's a disgrace.
Fantastic experience: I loved it
Fantastic experience: Great
Negative experience: The beach is sandy alright but as soon as you get close to the water the pebbles and sharp stone prevent you from having a nice wading into shallow water. Either you have to stay on the beach or go far into deep water. Unpleasant.
Negative experience: Besides the showers not working, the water is dirty, full of feathers, feces, and plastics. It's a shame because of its good location, but the conditions it is in are deplorable.
Positive experience: It's quite good, nice walk with a bit of seaweed but fine.
Fantastic experience: The beach is very well kept and beautiful. No rocks... it's a pleasure to walk.
Positive experience: Many seaweeds and the showers don't work...
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach. Lots of space. Some nice restaurants, shops and cafes along many stretches of it. Has huge play park which is great for kids. There’s good parking nearby.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful wide, well-maintained beach for strolling or sunbathing.
Fantastic experience: Very comfortable and clean beach to enjoy a few days of relaxation. Very well maintained, with beach bars all along the beach.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach, clean public toilets, open air showers and wash stations. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas. Many playgrounds for children. On the weekends they have craft fairs. We were there in June and it was not crowded at all.
Fantastic experience: After many summer baths in many countries, we discovered Estepona and returned many times.
Fantastic experience: I love this beach
Positive experience: Every year worse, for the last 3/4 years the cleanliness of the beaches in Estepona has been declining in general.
Negative experience: NONSENSE How to best discourage a tourist? 3rd of October, 2:00 PM, temperature 27°C - very simple, close all changing rooms and turn off all showers on the beach - I understand that it may not be peak season, but hello, either you want to earn money from tourism or you are doing nonsense because this is not saving, it's just being stingy... embarrassing. Good thing you can rent loungers because someone profits from that, but why rent them when you can’t rinse off the salt? Apparently, the beach manager has come to the conclusion that operating the showers on the central beach would lead him to bankruptcy... nonsense on Costa del Sol - I did not expect such embarrassment.
Positive experience: Beautiful and long beach, both free and equipped, very well maintained
Positive experience: Nice boardwalk beach with steps and stones at the entrance to the sea
Fantastic experience: Very clean, quite calm water. Beach bars nearby with good prices and great food quality.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach
Positive experience: The place is quiet and is close to many restaurants! The water is not cold. The sand is a little grayish.
Fantastic experience: Great beach to spend the day with incredible tranquility and a nice promenade.
Positive experience: Very nice beach. With plenty of space to set up the umbrella. Very clean.
Fantastic experience: It is a quiet beach all year round, although in summer there are more people... It is close to the center with plenty of restaurants and entertainment around, safety...
Fantastic experience: This beach is very wide with over two kilometers of sand. It’s right in downtown with a nice promenade along the beach. You have all services here and plenty of restaurants to choose from. It’s cleaned and a great location to people watch and great for sunsets overlooking Africa and Gibraltar. Over the winter is not as nicely maintained.
Positive experience: La Rada is a very wide beach, the sand Is typically for the area -gray, with pebbles. The seabed is not sloping gently, but rather abruptly, and overall it is very deep. Less than ten meters within the sea and the water is pretty deep. I didn't feel it is a nice beach experience. On the other hand-beautiful promenade and lovely restaurants.
Fantastic experience: La Rada is often cited as one of the better beaches on the Costa del Sol and it's hard to argue. Maybe not the most visually stunning but at 2km in length you'll always find somewhere to lay your towel. Facilities include: toilets, showers, chiringuitos every few hundred metres, kids play area, plus beach football and volleyball.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful views of the beach
Positive experience: The longest beach in Estepona with good facilities and numdrous chiringitos, easily accessible from the main Paseo
Fantastic experience: Lovely, couldn't believe the great weather for February.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach on the Med.
Fantastic experience: The stretch of coastline containing this beach in Estepona is simply gorgeous with a wonderful, partially covered promenade along which to walk, scoot (lots of electric scooters here) and observe the sand art. A sand sculpture of Jesus on the Cross was a little unusual but it was pretty good - have a look! Personally, I preferred the alpine village sculpture with its white frosting though we couldn't decide on the medium... Maybe talcum powder?
Fantastic experience: Lovely long boardwalk with lots of interesting little shops, cafés and restaurants on the way. Beautiful flowers and a huge play park for children.
Fantastic experience: Been going to Estepona for years but this stretch of the beach is just a bit closer to the port than we normally go to. It will be where we always go from not on. Just a bit easier underfoot for getting past the stones to more comfortable sand. Loved it
Fantastic experience: Our favourite beach in the area. A few jellyfish at the moment so you cant really swim more just go in for a dunk but lots of people scooping them out. Always a sunbed avaliable. Lots of beach, clear water, a bit shingly in places and lots of locals. All facilities close by. Sunbeds €4 each, chingiritos with cheap food.
Positive experience: my friends and i did a roadtrip through andalusia and half a day we spent at that beach! i really loved the clean beach and clear water, it was a little cold but i think that's just my senses i can totally recommend the beach to everybody don't forget your snorkel equipment and underwater cam! the restraunts on the beach are a little expensive
