Cala Pi Beach

Fantastic experience: It's a really pretty beach. It does get very crowded though. For the best view, I'd absolutely recommend hiking up the steep staircase on the right hand side of the beach (behind the small hut). You'll get the best view of the entire bay with beautiful turquoise water and it'll be a lot less crowded there. Parking spaces are always available on the main road if you're willing to walk ~500m to the beach.

Positive experience: Playa de Cala Pi has a picturesque setting with steep cliffs and a narrow stretch of beach, but it wasn’t the best experience. The water was green and a bit murky not as clear as other beaches on the island. While the surroundings are beautiful, there are definitely better options in Mallorca if you’re looking for crystal-clear water and a great swim.

Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful places I have ever swam. Like a stream in the gorge. Easily accessible. If you wish to explore the area I suggest hiking towards west - it's a 10 minute walk - and you'll find a hidden cove that is way more private and rocky. Superb views. Definitely worth the walk. Make sure you have hiking shoes.

Positive experience: Must see in Majorca. The first impression is cool but if you expect to relax on the beach you probably won't succeed. Crowds of loud people, little privacy and a bit dirty. Worth seeing, taking pictures too but lying down, probably not.

Fantastic experience: Incredible, easy access, it's beautiful

Positive experience: The beach is in a very beautiful setting between rocky cliffs. We found free parking 300 meters from the beach after 5 minutes of searching. There are stairs leading to the beach, which is sandy with beautiful clear water. However, the beach and water are a bit dirty from tree bark and people. Nevertheless, it is worth seeing.

Negative experience: It's a shame I can't give 0000. I visited today, September 6, 2024, and I can say that I only wasted my time. If you just want to take pictures from above, fine, but for everything else, it's a waste of time.

Fantastic experience: I really liked it, you can take some spectacular photos, the water is warm and clear, the sand is made of small pebbles and there's a nice breeze. Very good access although difficult to park.

Negative experience: I didn't like it!

Positive experience: La Caletta is really charming and the water is very beautiful. Since we went in August, there were a lot of people, but we still found a good spot on the beach. Clearly, at the shore the water was more turbid, but swimming just a little further out it becomes stunning. Climbing not many steps, there are a series of places to eat. We had a great lunch at Pepe's corner, managed by Italians.

Negative experience: Total disappointment, dirty, full of trash inside and outside the water, very murky water where you can't see the bottom, we cut a foot on a bottle in the sand in the water. Sand full of cigarette butts and trash, the access is fine but not adapted for reduced mobility. In the rocky area, there are sea nettles and one of our children got stung by them, and in the end, we left because of the pain the girl had. (This is nobody's fault, of course) But it's good for people to know so they can be careful in that area. Excessively crowded as you are stuck towel to towel with other people. The only good thing is that the views are nice.

Negative experience: Disappointing. When you first arrive, it looks beautiful. To get to the beach, you have to go down 150 steps that are not challenging at all. Crowded beach and dirty sea.

Negative experience: The place is nice because it is located between 2 rock walls. But as of today, the beach was very dirty, the water was murky and you couldn't see the bottom. It wasn't worth the trip.

Negative experience: Do not go there in the high season. The water is murky and dirty, and it is not appealing at all to swim. This is the problem with small coves. On larger beaches, the water is much more crystal clear. Big crush on Cala Mesquida in the North East.

Negative experience: The water is VERY murky! It's dirty... the sand is the same.. we had very high expectations because of the reviews but we didn't like it at all.. there are not even showers to clean your feet when you leave, it's very small and in the pictures, it looks much nicer than it actually is.

Negative experience: Welcome to Cala Piss, Don’t bother coming during summer months. Crowded and not the cleanest. Town mayor must limit those amounts of people that everyday want to access to the beach. A system taking turns somehow? Not enough bins for garbage. PEOPLE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH WITH YOU!

Fantastic experience: It was nice and sweet.

Fantastic experience: Small beach but with a typical beauty of the beaches in Palma de Mallorca, free parking available nearby. Beach services (lifeguard). Not too crowded to fill the sand, the access is impeccable and clean. The sand is full of what appears to be something that comes from the trees on the slopes of the beach, crystal clear blue water and excellent temperature. I recommend it to relax a bit and when you leave the beach there are many restaurants, markets, and cafes in the vicinity. Enjoy it was a nice surprise to have chosen this location to visit.

Positive experience: Due to recent storms, there was more debris and rubbish on the beach at the time than ever before. The Cala-Pi beach had plenty of hazardous pink jellyfish called Pelagia Noctiluca around the shore and seaside. These jellyfish are about 10cm long and transparent, with 16 long, thin tentacles that can cause pain, burning, nausea and muscle cramps. They are difficult to spot, especially at the time, in murky water after recent storms. In general, in Mallorca and the Mediterranean, it is normal. Yet, it's essential to be cautious if you are visiting and not gain a painful holiday gift. In case you're unfamiliar with the issue and these species, you can use an app, such as the MedusApp from the Google Play store, to know in advance of their presence, identify them and inform others for their safety.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place, I recommend going to this cove. And then go to the cove that is on the right side looking at the sea. Berenguel or something like that. A walk of 10-15 minutes maximum.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove... even more beautiful view from above... from the path that leads to Cala Beltran... take the stairs... behind the construction on the right... with good hiking shoes...

Positive experience: A beautiful cove that offers great swimming but also some drawbacks. First, the positives: - The nature around the cove is beautiful - Very calm water - Water is warm (like all over Mallorca) - If you swim further out, the water becomes incredibly clean and turquoise, beautiful. Negatives: - Except for early in the morning when there were almost no one in the sea, the first 50-100 meters are very murky. At the bottom of the sea, there are pine needles, which quickly makes the water murky. You have to swim as far out as possible to find very clean water. - Unfortunately, there are often jellyfish, some small and some very large - There are biting fish - Strangely, the sand on the beach is quite hard Conclusion: A very nice cove if you swim a bit further out and watch out for jellyfish. The nature (trees and rocks) is really very beautiful.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach, with crystal clear and warm water! The sand is considered good compared to the other beaches on the island. It is possible to take spectacular photos from above! However, be careful with the fish! Although they seem harmless, I was bitten by one. The lifeguards were very helpful.

Positive experience: At 9 o'clock everything was still in the shade and nothing was happening, even the parking lot was empty. It gradually got busier, but it was still manageable.

Positive experience: The beach is beautiful, but it is located in an area with very high slopes, meaning the sun disappears quickly in the afternoon. The famous viewpoint that appears so often on Instagram no longer exists.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I were there on a Monday at noon and there were still quite a few people, even though it was October. We really liked the beach, especially when you go away from the shore. You can go down some stairs and there is also a path full of vegetation to see the cove from above; the turquoise colors of the sea are beautiful. We parked without any problem on a street five minutes away. I recommend it for weekdays; on weekends, I get the impression that it gets quite crowded and it's not a beach with much space.

Fantastic experience: I give this cove 5 stars, I went at the beginning of October on a Thursday and it was very quiet, at this time you can go and enjoy, I imagine that during the high season you need to arrive early to have a space... it is a small but beautiful beach, I recommend it 100%. I loved it!!

Positive experience: Great disappointment with this beach. According to recommendations and rankings, this beach is among the most beautiful in Mallorca, but I quickly sobered up. The water was muddy and dirty. Moreover, there was a constant smell of rotten eggs on the beach. The only nice thing was that you could take beautiful photos from the top of the beach.

Fantastic experience: Attractive in September, with a beautiful and challenging walk for those who want to combine a short trekking route of 1 hour, in the midst of nature: there are steep climbs, Mediterranean scrub, stunning landscapes and sea breeze.

Positive experience: Cala Pi. It is a secluded beach, formed by the mouth of a torrent. Located in a village that shares its name, Cala Pi. Its name 'Pi' (pine in Spanish) comes from the trees that surround the beautiful cove. Considered by many as the perfect beach, sheltered between two cliffs, with golden sand and turquoise blue waters. The cove is quite spacious (140m). The cliffs on both sides of the beach make it a safe place, protected from the winds. Let's get to the important part: The cove gets very crowded and the water often becomes murky, losing its beauty; it is not the best beach if you want to spend a quiet time. It also gets quite full of boats, making snorkeling difficult. There is plenty of parking near the path down to the cove, or if you prefer you can park around the residential area and walk; parking won’t be a problem. Access to the beach is via stone steps (8-10 minutes), which is complicated (easy to go down, but climbing back up is a bit tough; it does not have access for the disabled. There is a lifeguard station. There are no showers or public facilities, bins or containers on the beach. Even with the overcrowding, it is a must-visit cove in Mallorca.

Fantastic experience: Small cove, which is reached after going down the stairs. In August it is overcrowded and the water is a bit murky. But it is beautiful and I suppose that in the low season it will be quiet.

Positive experience: Nearby parking available. The water had quite a bit of algae, it looked like a swamp. But there has been a storm, and I suppose it will be normal. Maybe the cove is more enjoyable by boat from the sea. There is a section of stairs to access it, beware children, the return is tough. There are two shops and a couple of restaurants before going down to the sand.

Positive experience: We went with small children. The cove is beautiful, surrounded by rocks and pines which makes it lovely. Don’t expect to find crystal clear turquoise water because it is not. We went at 10:30 am and there were already quite a few people. There is plenty of parking area around that will require you to walk 5-10 minutes at most, then as you go down there is a junction of streets, the access to the beach is right at the beginning of the street on the right, you have to go down some cobblestone stairs, but it is well equipped with a handrail. Until about 12:30 pm, you can have shade from the same rocks.

Fantastic experience: Very nice cove, although the water a bit dirty

Negative experience: There are many leaves on the bottom of the beach and it's unpleasant to get into the water. And on the beach, there are always many jellyfish, both large and small, that sting very painfully! This is very painful, especially for children. The blisters don’t go away for weeks! The consequences are in the photo. Choose other beaches, without jellyfish!

Positive experience: This is a beatiful beach, I would say easllily accesible but indeed there is something like a staircase, not difficult though. The beach is not very big. The sea water the day that we visited was not so clear or clean but it was very crowded.

Positive experience: It is very nice but the water wasn't clear the day we went. At the bottom in the water there are many seaweeds so if you don't like it you need to be always swimming

Positive experience: This beach is a go-to cool option if you are staying in Palma but want to see something more exotic: cliffs, crystal clear water, nature. The views are amazing but be aware that the beach itself isn’t equipped with umbrellas or sun beds which isn’t very comfortable for some people. Otherwise, you can take a walk around the cliffs and enjoy wonderful panoramic views.

Positive experience: Nice Calo, but no the best on the island. I would say the 2nd beautiful Calo on the island of Palma de Mallorca (and I have visited a lot of them), after Calo des Moro (the most beautiful). The view is fabulous. But the water at the beginning is dirty and full of algae. You should swim 50m in order to get rid off algae. Nice beach with clean sand.

Positive experience: Beautiful view from thw top, but very blurry water also sea sand is swampy sometimes smells like sewer, I don’t like the see. Beach is a little crowded.

Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach! We were there in October and there were still quite many people, so it may be pretty packed in summer. The view are amazing from the beach and from the top. Be aware of many stairs to climb. The beach had no facilities like changing rooms or toilets. We had dinner in the restaurant just above the beach and the food was great, but long waiting time.

Positive experience: A lota of seaweed mixed in the sand but a beautiful little beach. Protected from waves and winds. Popular by locals on sundays. No beach bar but there are some restaurants close by the beach 147 steps up the cliffside of Cala Pi.

Fantastic experience: Tucked away in the south part of the island, Cala Pi is an easy 30 minute drive from the Palma airport if you have time to burn before your flight. And well worth it. It quickly became our favorite beach of Majorca. Though it’s a popular spot, you’ll have no issue finding space to lay out. And the water is not only the perfect warmth but has the most beautiful hints of clear blue and green. Enjoy!

Positive experience: Great Cala with beautiful water but often can feel overly busy.

Negative experience: Overrated. Crowded and dirty - you are swiming between rubber gloves and other rubbish. It looks much better from a distance.

Negative experience: Too many people in a really small beach the sand was also really dirty and mixed with dry beach debris. Lots of families mixed with groups of guys showing off and smoking pot. The area is also king of lame it's a spot full of hotels for people making holiday and nothing else not an organic place. It's the kind of please where you will not find any locals.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach with very clear water but we went on a Saturday morning and it was VERY busy with plenty of screaming and crying kids.

Positive experience: Arrived at 9am, plenty of parking. Captivating views from the cliff sides. 100+ steps down to the beach. The sea cove beach has turquoise water, and shade thrown on to the beach from the cliffs. As the day grew on, so did the number of people on the beach. Cala Pi offers local restaurants and markets for refreshments.

Positive experience: The water is spectacular but the sand line is quite little and the easy access make this nice place easily crowded!

Positive experience: The beach is beautiful, water turquoise and clean. There're several restaurants and bars around. The bad aspect of this beach is that is not accessible, so if you need somewhere with accessibility, this unfortunately is not the place. Also, it's way to busy.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful little place for a swim work crustal clear water and some water activities available too in the summer. This time of year it was very quiet, can only imagine how busy it is in the summer.

Negative experience: Very crowded and loud. The place could be paradise without humans. If people would really enjoy and be conscious i wouldn't mind having people around. But everybody putting toxic sunscreen on polluting the water and not picking up trash is not very mindful. It could be so simple. Respect other people's peace, so keep calm. Put a sunscreen on from Ringana or other natural products that dont pollute the ocean and the package is biodegradable. Or just avoid the strong sun sit in the shade. And of course pick up your trash.

Fantastic experience: Came to mallorca on a cruise with my wife, had a couple hours to spend on the island and spent them all here. Loved the small intimate beach environment and the (begrudged) ability to shower nearby at the hotel. Went up to the spur to the restaurant for lunch, which was more than we bargained for. All in all, time well spent and a memorable experience

Fantastic experience: Playa de Cala Pi, A very lovely place to be and visit for sure! When I arrived it was mildly crowded That part was at the beach. This seems to be very liked among young families, so expect a lot of playing children! After we took some pictures we decided to have some drinks at the hotel that is located above the beach on a hill The prices were surley great and beyond our expectations, we double checked to see if they might forgot something but they did not! So that's why my rating is 5 stars, also because there was a friendly waitress who helped us! Good place to stay with kids!

Positive experience: Beautiful scenery with steep cliffs surrounding the beach. Not a great deal of space though and not very deep water. Probably best suited for families with children. And for taking photographs.

Positive experience: Pretty good beach overall in comparison to the numerous here on Mallorca. Sand everywhere, if that's your thing, with rocks really only by the ends of the beach. There's some cool photographic opportunities if you're so inclined and cool views from above the beach (parking is high up over the beach). Concerning parking, there isn't much, so be prepared to park far away and walk if you're visiting during high season. There's a cool Cabana on the beach too that sells various drinks on the spot (including alcoholic), and they also take food requests from their menu that they apparently deliver to you directly on the beach. Pretty cool... Although I'm unaware of the cost for that service. Lastly, there's a cool tower thing right nearby the main parking area that is cool to visit as well as look out at the ocean from. Great views. In this area you'll also find various restaurants and cafes if you'd like to sit for a coffee or a full meal. Worth a visit in my opinion, but if you're looking for a secluded beach away from the masses, this is not it.

Positive experience: A good beach. It used to be a really beautiful place, but it's still a very special one anyways. The cove is quiet, with sand, and the water isn't deep until you go a few dozen meters in. The water itself has some rubbish. If you want a cleaner water then go for the deeper area. The sand and first meters of water usually have black algae, making it look dirtier than it actually is. Despite these details, the area is very pretty and I really recommend it for a relaxing afternoon.

Positive experience: Beautiful but maybe a spot to visit rather in summer. Both sides of the cliff are definitely worth seeing. Ideally by bike because the parking lots are limited

Positive experience: The beach itself is easily accessible without walking a long way or whatever coz there is a stair. However it's disappointing for ppl who prefer shades on the beach. The water is dead with trash bags floating around now and then. The beach is quite sandy though.
