Fantastic experience: All of thr beach front at barceloneta is beautiful. I liked mar bella because of its more hidden nature. Though be ware, this is a nudist friendly beach and you will see men and women of all ages, shapes, and sizes baring all. Only go if you have the maturity to be respectful.

Positive experience: I would give a 3.5, but I opted for 4 because I prefer this beach over the other much more touristy and overcrowded ones. That said, this year there were so many waves, it was almost impossible to swim there (doable, but be an excellent swimmer) and especially the waves seem to have eroded a good part of the beach.

Fantastic experience: Clean sandy beach. The entrance to the water is quite steep and suddenly drops into depth. There were quite strong waves. There is a good clean toilet and several shower points. The beach is mixed: there are nudists, but they are mainly concentrated on the right side of the beach (when looking at the sea), although they can also be found on the left side. There are significantly fewer people until noon. After noon, it becomes more crowded. There is a playground on the left side of the beach.

Fantastic experience: This is a beach that I really like, there are few people compared to Barceloneta, which is crowded with people and is unsafe, this one is not, the Police pass by frequently and provide security. Furthermore, I am practicing paddle surfing and just next to the Mar Bella pavilion on the north side, there is a paddle surf school where I often rent equipment. The beach already has functioning showers and it's a pleasure. In the past, with the drought, the school had services and showers, and when renting, those services were also included, which nowadays when I rent, I prefer to shower up there, as they keep my things safe. In short, this is my favorite beach in Barcelona and it has one of the oldest schools in BCN and Spain to learn paddle surfing and rent equipment, plus they have surf, surf skate, and throw parties on the water. I always come, and there is Xiri Begay, which I really like; the people are very nice.

Positive experience: I don’t like it much. The access is uncomfortable and the space feels small because of the number of people. I know it's a place appreciated by tourists and locals, but it hasn't convinced me when visiting with family.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place to go during the week, avoid weekends and especially after noon in season.

Negative experience: There is no sand in the entire central part. It is desolate. The City Council is only interested in political maneuvering but did not prepare the beaches for the summer. Concrete blocks stick out from the shower to the end of the mound. The beach is unsafe at night, thieves of all kinds, looting. The street vendors are very bothersome.

Negative experience: The local government has reserved almost 50% of the beach area for volleyball courts. If it was already always crowded with people, now that they have taken away half of the space for the courts, it is very overwhelming to lay down your towel. On the other hand, it is always filled with people smoking joints (even though smoking is prohibited), as there is no control. Be very careful of pickpockets! In that area, there are many thieves. The sand is quite dirty and even smells bad. Be careful where you step, as there are usually broken glass left by people partying at night.

Positive experience: Very nice beach to go with friends, it has a nudist area and a beach bar to get something to drink, a place to play volleyball.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, the beach has been set back a bit. Only the name of the bar 'BeGay' remains. So there are few or no gay men. The rent for a sunshade and a lounge chair at €30 is overpriced. When I asked for a proof of payment, the seller initially refused. When I did not back down, he then refused to serve me drinks from the bar. Probably because he was angry that he couldn't pocket the money himself.

Negative experience: Full of vendors shouting loudly and disrespectfully invading your personal space every 3-5 minutes. They attempt to sell alcohol illegally. In one hour, we counted 15 different vendors. Furthermore, many smokers are smoking cannabis and throwing joints on the beach, especially in the nudist area.

Fantastic experience: A peaceful place to enjoy alone or with company without having to worry about being a nudist or not, you are welcome there and you won't have everyone's eyes on you. Everyone is in their own world. It's a beach, a very quiet place.

Positive experience: It's a nice beach, but not one of the best in Barcelona, especially because it doesn't have much space. There is a nudist area and traditionally a gay zone. Better during the week than on weekends.

Positive experience: The beach is nice, located close to the city. The nudist experience if you are a woman going alone is anything but relaxing and forces you to be alert. In my case, I went alone and found persistent men trying to hit on me, guys who sit next to you and don't stop looking at you, and others who follow you wherever you go to get close. This, combined with the vendors passing by with the excuse of selling drinks or snacks, saying uncomfortable things to you. You can't feel safe and you end up dodging annoying guys.

Fantastic experience: Great beach, where you can walk on the sidewalk and enjoy the beautiful bright blue sea. You also have enough restaurants where you can get a cold drink and enjoy the amazing weather.

Negative experience: Did not feel comfortable here. Kind of a bare sterile feeling for a beach, quite some nudist 40-60 year old men hanging around. In the end I found a nice place on the rocks in the North side of this beach.

Fantastic experience: It’s a bit hard to believe that a clothing optional beach, mainly men beachgoers can be so prominently located in the center of a great metropolis like Barcelona—but there you go! I spent a lovely late morning through to late afternoon at the Plage de la Mar Bella, along with many hundreds of other citizens and travelers — all of us without a stitch of clothing.
