Fantastic experience: Wow, wonderful black sand like powdered sugar and the sea is great - the waves were nice today but flat and the beach was moderately to lightly crowded. Hardly any kids, 3 dogs, top parking. And: shower available - so everything is perfect.
Positive experience: Playa de Benijo, nestled on Tenerife's rugged northern coast, is a breathtaking escape for those seeking beauty in its most unspoiled form. This secluded beach, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and accessible only via a winding path, offers a slice of paradise where the Atlantic's powerful waves meet pristine volcanic sands. The view here, especially at sunset, is nothing short of magical, with the sky and sea ablaze in hues of orange and pink. Its remote location ensures a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for contemplative walks or simply basking in nature's majesty. Playa de Benijo is not just a beach; it's an experience, offering a profound connection with the natural world that stays with you long after your visit.

Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches in Tenerife, very fine dark sand and less crowded compared to other beaches. There are several showers available. There is usually a lot of wind, and there are many surfers.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black sand beach - and huge waves when we went. It can be dangerous so be careful!
Fantastic experience: Well, it's a wonder, fine black sand, clean water, and beautiful views
Fantastic experience: Beach with lifeguards who are careful not to let you get close to the edges (they whistle immediately) or out to sea as the currents are strong and the waves are fierce. Black volcanic sand, wild beach but with good parking and views, recommended.
Fantastic experience: Magical beautiful beach with deep black sand.

Fantastic experience: A magnificent place that can be reached directly by car, looking for parking at the restaurant that is near the beach. Alternatively, you can reach the beach via a very easy path that allows you to arrive in 10 minutes. Spectacular place, really! Very beautiful and very tranquil.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black beach, not many people and high waves to see. Also, the parking spaces were not even half full on the street at the beginning of March. However, in the village of Benijo, there are almost none available, if then directly at the restaurants.
Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, one of the areas in the heart of Anaga that you cannot miss, especially the sunsets, with typical restaurants by the Atlantic that I will never forget... I always come back.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach spot with some nearby restaurants offering delicious local seafood.
Fantastic experience: Playa increíble. Bastante grande y nada masificada.

Negative experience: Benijo Beach is a fairly remote black sand beach that requires a special drive to get there. Once you arrive with the rental car, there is no parking lot, but some park along the road. As soon as you get out, you smell urine since there are no toilets at this beach and there aren't many facilities like supermarkets or dining options in the surrounding area. There are many lifeguards and ambulances on site, and red or orange flags are flying because it is not always safe to swim in the sea due to the high waves. We do not recommend going here.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful and clean. Here the water is very turbulent, if you go with children you need to be very attentive. There is lifeguard service.
Fantastic experience: The beach is beautiful. It has sand and rocks at the back. You have to be careful with the tide because it rises and almost takes the whole beach (you have to stick to the rocks so your things don't get wet). Parking is limited, you have to arrive early. There are quite a few stairs to access. When you arrive, there are lifeguards who give you bathing instructions. The times I have been there, there has been a red flag and you can't swim above your knees.
Fantastic experience: La playa espectacular.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful black sand beach - and huge waves when we went. It can be dangerous so be careful!
Fantastic experience: Well, it's a wonder, fine black sand, clean water, and beautiful views
Fantastic experience: Honestly one of the most unique beaches on Tenerife. The landscape is just amazing plus the beaches over here are so nice. The water is not too cold and the area can get cloudy easily. I would definitely recommend coming to this beach if you are fine with the drive here.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, but it is currently closed due to rocks falling from the cliffs. However, some people are still climbing down the stairs past the gates.

Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches in Tenerife, very fine dark sand and less crowded compared to other beaches. There are several showers available. There is usually a lot of wind, and there are many surfers.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach to spend the night in a van and surf.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, although there are three similar ones. What they have in common is the lack of parking spaces, so it's recommended to arrive early in the morning. For me, the most beautiful beach in Tenerife. Amazing vibe and views. Lots of surfers :)
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach in the north of Tenerife. Popular with surfers due to the amount of waves and strength of the sea. But it is a long, large, and beautiful beach.
Fantastic experience: The most beautiful beach we found away from the tourist hotspots. The sand here is black and the water is very shallow. Due to the strong waves & currents, you can only go into deeper water with a surfboard or fins.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach but no longer accessible due to the risk of landslides
Fantastic experience: Currently closed due to danger of landslides.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach.

Fantastic experience: Often red flag but still worth it, including the route from Anaga
Fantastic experience: Amazing beach, but unfortunately closed due to possible rockfalls.. :(
Fantastic experience: A million stars to the rescuers
Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach located 40 minutes away from Puerto de la Cruz by walking among banana plantations and cliffs.
Fantastic experience: For me, the most beautiful beach in Tenerife! The view of the rocks, surrounded by mountains, great sand, relatively few people in the middle of the holiday :)
Fantastic experience: One of the best of the island without a doubt
Fantastic experience: Magical beach, good, almost no one obviously the access was forbidden
Positive experience: CLOSED BEACH
Negative experience: To be honest, I didn't like it at all! They rank it as number 1 on many websites, and it's nothing like that...
Negative experience: Very beautiful beach but access is not possible. Currently it is closed due to the risk of landslides.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, but it is currently closed due to rocks falling from the cliffs. However, some people are still climbing down the stairs past the gates.
Negative experience: The beach is currently closed to the public due to the risk of landslides.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach and very quiet. There is parking space but there are a lot of vans.
Fantastic experience: Beach with lifeguards who are careful not to let you get close to the edges (they whistle immediately) or out to sea as the currents are strong and the waves are fierce. Black volcanic sand, wild beach but with good parking and views, recommended.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place to visit! There are huge waves and not many people. Lifeguards are on site watching over you, not very sunny after lunch due to the sun moving to the other side of the island but it is still warm. But there is a catch. If you rent a car as we did and stay at the southern part of the island - there is an adventure to drive there. You will have to drive through an hour long drive way, followed by a huge city (Santa Cruz) with much traffic, followed by a serpent-like road through the mountains with very steep edges and a not wide road. So my advice is - if you are confident in your driving skills - take an amazing road trip with a car, if you are not and just want to visit an amazing beach - take a bus. There are buses going straight to it, though I cannot tell anything about them, since we drove.
Fantastic experience: Magical beautiful beach with deep black sand.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach with black sand and huge waves. The magnificent landscapes will serve as a great backdrop for photo shoots. The beach is far from tourist routes, and the road to it goes through a challenging serpentine. However, on weekends, there is no parking space, and the beach is quite crowded.
Positive experience: Wonderful wide and long beach with a gentle entrance to the ocean. The sand is very fine, like dust. There is a lifeguard and medical assistance, but no showers. Parking along the road, plenty of spaces.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular. It's normal that Andrés Suárez dedicated a song to it, although I would have dedicated two.
Fantastic experience: A wild black sand beach, truly spectacular and worth visiting. Better on weekdays to be able to park without difficulty.
Fantastic experience: INDESCRIBABLE in words. I think it's one of the most charming beaches on the Island. Better to see photos....
Fantastic experience: An incredible place, the beach is very beautiful and long. Despite the fact that the temperature in the city was 19-20 degrees, it was warm and comfortable at the beach.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, but you have to be careful of strong waves and currents.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful places on Earth that I’ve had the chance to visit. A long beach with black volcanic sand. Steep, high cliffs and before our eyes, the ocean. Loud, powerful, incredible. We arrived here for the sunset, so we didn’t swim anymore. It was windy here. But very, very beautiful. We had many cool emotions from visiting this place!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful. It reminds me of Iceland.
Fantastic experience: Simply super beautiful
Positive experience: The beach is quite dirty.
Negative experience: It's not a beach for swimming. Very nice for a photo but that's it. I wouldn't come back.
Fantastic experience: It has poor parking, you have to go down and then climb 800 million stairs, but it's worth it, the beach is very beautiful and very calm, although be careful with the currents.
Fantastic experience: Must have to visit, especially for sunset lovers❤️
Fantastic experience: Go to the first beach with black sand. The beach which is below the stairs is only with rocks.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful place to see a wonderful sunset. The water is spectacular
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful but be careful with the access
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black beach, accessible with very little effort but it is worth it.
Fantastic experience: beautiful rocky beach, not too crowded. You better bring shoes to get down to the beach. Worth the trip!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place with incredible views....... It takes a lot of patience to get there but it is definitely worth it.
Fantastic experience: A must-visit place, not only for the characteristics of the location but also for the beautiful ascent through Anaga park. To access the place, there is a descent of a few steps, but it's manageable. Parking is limited or available in a private parking.
Fantastic experience: A magnificent place that can be reached directly by car, looking for parking at the restaurant that is near the beach. Alternatively, you can reach the beach via a very easy path that allows you to arrive in 10 minutes. Spectacular place, really! Very beautiful and very tranquil.
Fantastic experience: noisy sensations....
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with big waves ❤️
Fantastic experience: Sublime, not to be missed. This beach is worth the trip, the road is winding, but it is worth it.
Fantastic experience: I'm not sure, but it seems to be Physaria. If so, touching it is very dangerous and can cause severe burns to the body.
Fantastic experience: In love with this beach
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black beach, not many people and high waves to see. Also, the parking spaces were not even half full on the street at the beginning of March. However, in the village of Benijo, there are almost none available, if then directly at the restaurants.
Fantastic experience: Wow, wonderful black sand like powdered sugar and the sea is great - the waves were nice today but flat and the beach was moderately to lightly crowded. Hardly any kids, 3 dogs, top parking. And: shower available - so everything is perfect.
Fantastic experience: magical beach It has a shower, parking nearby.
Fantastic experience: Route 2018, 2024
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, magnificent views. The access is down a long staircase but it's worth it.
Fantastic experience: Without a doubt, one of the areas in the heart of Anaga that you cannot miss, especially the sunsets, with typical restaurants by the Atlantic that I will never forget... I always come back.
Fantastic experience: Plastic rubbish from the ocean is very sad on this isolated beach
Playa de Benijo is not just a beach; it's an experience, offering a profound connection with the natural world that stays with you long after your visit.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach! A must-see!
Fantastic experience: Very cool. The sand is fine, very pleasant. Huge waves.
Fantastic experience: This coastline is splendid. The beach is large and beautiful; however, be careful of the strong currents.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach with great waves and fine black sand. Parking is available. There is also a shower and a foot shower.
Fantastic experience: Black sand beach. Very beautiful. Good parking.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, but the most beautiful is Las Teresitas
Fantastic experience: Just visited Playa de Benijo in Tenerife and it was amazing! It's not your typical crowded beach, which is great if you're into quiet spots. The black sand and cliffs are super cool, but heads up, the tide can get strong, so be careful if you decide to take a dip. There's plenty of parking space, also suitable for small campervans.
Fantastic experience: Huge waves, amazing
Fantastic experience: A place you can't miss in northern Tenerife. Beautiful.
Fantastic experience: You can feel the power of the ocean on this secluded gem of nature. Keep an eye on the currents as it can get pretty dangerous for the swimmers.
Fantastic experience: That's the most beautiful beach in Tenerife! Soft black sand, waves not too strong, stunning views from the water. Many viewpoints around it, we came here from Los Cristianos and it was definitely worth it! We were there in the afternoon, the golden hour was amazing. However the beach is in the shade then so if you like being in the sun I recommend going in the morning. For me, it was the most beautiful spot of our whole 7 day trip.
Fantastic experience: We saw it from above (parking area) since to go down you have to go down a quite long staircase. The view from above is beautiful.
Fantastic experience: Splendid.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black sand beach after incredible views of the Anaga natural park.
Fantastic experience: Amazing! The end of the world!!
Positive experience: Already a very beautiful place, but due to its popularity, there are many people even in December, which slightly ruins the atmosphere. It is still worth going there.
Fantastic experience: You have to take into account the demanding travel, but it is really worth visiting this place, and in the meantime, you should try the local restaurants with exquisite local cuisine.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely worth seeing, black sand and public shower on the beach.
Fantastic experience: If you arrive here around 10 AM, there are no people. And the beach is empty. Something beautiful.
Negative experience: Benihō is a very small town where it's hard to find parking. The road to get here is so winding that it made me nauseous. The black sand beach is very fine and wide, making it great for playing and surfing, but there are many other beaches for just playing in the water. However, this place takes great photos, so many photographers come here to shoot. Like other black sand beaches, the water is very shallow here, and the sand feels soft like walking on silk, like stepping on a very dense sponge. It's nice to go in a little and come back out. There are no lifeguards, so swimming for kids is dangerous, and they should only play in the water. Surfing here is very good.
Fantastic experience: A good one, might be difficult to park but it's totally worth it!
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach spot with some nearby restaurants offering delicious local seafood.
Fantastic experience: Amazing black sand. The waves are exactly how they are supposed to be to enjoy the water without being wiped out by the rip curl. The sun is behind an amazing mountain so make sure to come in the first part of the day.
Positive experience: Very nice beach with black sand, with shower and long bench to sit. Usually with big waves. Might be dangerous.
Fantastic experience: What a sand! Soft, small and dark. Water is also amazing, just it's far to come here even from North Tenerife.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent
Fantastic experience: Sublime beach. Please note that swimming is prohibited due to the currents.
Fantastic experience: Stunning and scenic beach at sunset. In my opinion, the most beautiful on the island for a photo shoot. Few parking spots and a long staircase to reach the beach.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely a must visit. If you are in TENERIFE you cannot miss this wonderful show of nature. The road to get there is a bit difficult for sure, but it's worth it. If you love walking, this is the perfect place. A classic destination for surfers waiting for the perfect wave. Ps: it seemed crazy to me to swim and I didn't do it given the waves, but a local guy came and boom, he threw himself into the waves, I swear. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe it, absurd.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach, access is somewhat complex, impossible for disabled people. The area is somewhat isolated, the roads to get there are a bit tedious, but it is very worthwhile from Taganana to Benijo.
Positive experience: Nice, too bad it was raining and it was the only place on the island where it was raining.
Fantastic experience: Amazing beach to have a swim with the waves!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, quiet beach away from tourists. I recommend activities at sunset. The views along the way are amazing.
Positive experience: Magnificent beach and moreover there is a very appreciated shower after swimming.
Fantastic experience: The most beautiful beach in Tenerife!!! There are a lot of waves and currents. Not much parking space, or you can opt for a paid private parking (note that it closes at 6 PM) it's best to arrive early.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach to spend the night in a van and surf.
Fantastic experience: Wild black sand beach, ideal for watching the sunset, perfect for going with your pet. As far as I understand, they do not explicitly allow them, but as long as your pet is well-behaved and does not bother others, they will always be more than welcome. Also, keep in mind that to get there, there is a long flight of stairs, taking 5 to 10 minutes depending on your physical condition and the materials you carry. The beach is kept clean and well-maintained.
Positive experience: Great beach. It suited us as a family.
