Fantastic experience: Beautiful, wide, sandy beach surrounded by cliffs and dunes. The landscape is wild and natural. I think it's one of the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote worth visiting. Due to the rather windy weather, it might not be the best place for sunbathing, but it is definitely a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Nevertheless, I believe everyone will be amazed by the landscape of this place, as there is really a lot to admire. There is a large, free parking lot by the beach. I was there in November, and the beach wasn't very crowded, mainly surfers. I recommend it ❤️
Fantastic experience: There is free parking at the beach. The beach is intended for surfers due to the constant wind and waves. But we ordinary mortals can also enjoy this beautiful beach. The beach and the whole place are somehow relaxed, very relaxing! Definitely worth a visit!!!
Fantastic experience: Probably the best beach and the best landscapes in Lanzarote. Don’t miss the views from the Mirador de El Risco de Famara, where you can park in the nearby parking without any problem. Beautiful sunset, a delight for photographers, if you like sunsets.

Positive experience: Playa de arena tostada, de unos seis Km de largo, que contrasta con el resto volcánico y oscuro de la isla. Viento, mala mar, sin servicios, buenas vistas, no urbanizada, aparcamiento fácil, dunas .... La disfrutará el surfista, la sufrirá el bañista. Creo.
Positive experience: Superbe plage dans un cadre impressionnant. Du sable, une falaise volcanique de plus de 500 m de haut, les îles en face et des vagues... La baignade est souvent difficile voire interdite à cause des vagues.

Positive experience: I had high expectations, the beach is beautiful but I didn't feel the vibe I was expecting. I couldn't enjoy the atmosphere because it was hard to stay on the towel due to the sand flying around low and sharp. I took a short walk, it wasn't very crowded, there were no surfers and the sea was strong enough to discourage anyone who isn't a perfect swimmer. The mountain beside the beach is really fascinating and I later discovered that it has a beautiful promontory from where you can see the sunset and the whole landscape stretching from the beach to Graciosa. I took a very brief tour in the village but not enough to get an idea of what it is like.

I've been there 4/5 times to surf and also several times to watch the sunset, which is spectacular. I recommend going especially after passing the Casa Blancas urbanization touching the cliff. It doesn't disappoint, and the beach is all sand, there are rocks but in the water, it's all sand. Very grateful.

Positive experience: Very quiet for a peaceful, chilled out holiday. This place is devoid of mass tourism but still had visitors of mixed nationality. Ideal for watersports enthusiasts. Has a range of good quality and value for money restaurants (La Posada Grill and Las Bajas to name a few). A car is a must if wanting to explore which needs to be arranged from the airport as there is NOT a car rental company in Famara, despite what Google says!

Negative experience: SURF SPOT: Opinión para Surf INTERMEDIO/AVANZADO, que busca seccion ola para mejorar maniobras, nada recomendable. Es un spot expuesto al viento que desordena los picos, y aqui hay bastante en general. "Funciona" en condiciones muy especificas de dirección del swell, hasta 1m-1.2m aprox y con periodos de max 10/11 seg. Las secciones suelen ser cortas, si consigues una ola decente tienes una buena remada para salir al pico. Se pasa enseguida con un parte decente (fotos con 1.3m y 16seg) que es por lo que muchos surfers visitantes vienen aqui y donde todos los locales, tiendas y folletos te van a mandar. Hay spots infinitamente mejores cerca como San Juan (5mins), Caleta de Caballo o la Santa, ahi vas a necesitar buen nivel de surf y un milagro con los locales... ojito lo que dejais en el coche alquilado si te metes ahi. Fotos de famara, san juan, caleta y la santa... con parte igualito, a ver si se ve la diferencia surfer!. PRINCIPIANTE, para olas blancas, espumitas, este es tu lugar!. No hay rocas, ni nada.. 5 estrellas.... TURISTAS: El entorno es bellisimo para relajarse, mirar, tomar el sol y refugiate del viento en los silos que alguna alma caritativa ya ha construido. Hay cafes y restaurantes a elegir en el pueblito. Recomendable.
Fantastic experience: Me encanta! Es una playa maravillosa de arena rubia. Larga y con unas bonitas vistas al acantilados de de Famara y al Archipiélago Chinijo. En la localidad cercana hay restaurantes y todo tipo de servicios básicos. Hay seguridad y vigilancia. Pero ojo! Es una playa peligrosa por las corrientes que vienen del Río; hay erizos de mar en el fondo rocoso; suelen haber medusas; y es especialmente apta para windsurfistas... Con lo que el balista clásico, aparte de coger sol y remojarse, debe ir con mucho cuidado. A disfrutarla con responsabilidad.
Fantastic experience: Una de las playas más bonitas de las islas Canarias. El atardecer aquí es alucinante. La playa tiene fácil acceso, es posible aparcar cerca. El pueblo tiene bares, restaurantes y un pequeño supermercado. One of the most beautiful beaches in the Canary Islands. The sunset here is amazing. Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote, mostly frequented by surfers but not only. You can park for free on the roadside or in the village. There are no restroom facilities. It often gets windy and the weather can change abruptly, so for safety, bring a sweater.

Negative experience: Geweldige golven, maar reken niet op adequate hulp van de strandwacht. Pas op, sterke onderstroming. Binnen enkele seconden drijf je af.
Fantastic experience: Famara Beach ist wohl mit Sicherheit einer der schönsten wenn nicht der schönste Strand der Insel. Aber zum Schwimmen nicht geeignet, es ist ein Suff Strand mit höheren Wellen und der Strand ist so wie man es sucht wünscht gut zu gehen und bei Ebbe ist er Mega breit super Blick vom Strand in die Berge. Einfach Traumhaft auch der Sand und die davor gelagerten Sanddünen. Alles super nur im Wasser Vorsicht man sollte noch Boden unter den Füßen spüren.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful large beach on the cliff coast with huge waves. It's fun to be in the water, but it shouldn't be underestimated. The current is very strong in some areas. Great for surfing. The sunset there is beautiful! We didn't see any snacks or anything similar. Overall, it was one of my favorite beaches in Lanzarote.

Positive experience: Klify Famara look nice. It’s very windy. There are many surfers and kitesurfers. A lot of people in general. The sand is light, and there are also dunes. There were no toilets. The beach is several kilometers long.

Positive experience: I'm not a surfer, but I know a few surfing beaches. This one has the right geography to be good in the right conditions. Plenty of surf shops, offering lessons, rentals and equipment to buy. Due to the open nature of the ground behind the beach it's windy a lot of the time. I'm thinking kite surfing might be the best. Not much in the way of facilities, but there's a few cafe/bars around. View wise this beach is really up there with the best, and can be enjoyed by everyone.

Fantastic experience: Schöner Strand zum Sport machen. Ob surfen, kiten, schnorcheln, joggen, biken im Risco oder wandern...da hat es für jeden etwas. Aber vorsicht vor den Strömungen!

Fantastic experience: Categoria ... spiaggioni da cartolina ! Bellissima. Mi ha preso moltissimo come scenario. Bassa marea la mattina poi piano piano arriva l'alta marea. L'arenile molto basso favorisce il formarsi di onde lunghe e costanti ... per la gioia dei surfisti che sono nella quasi totalità i maggior frequentatori di Famara. Consiglio la parte destra molto più tranquilla e riservata ... con dune sabbiose a ridosso della spiaggi intervallate di un tratto di sabbia/sassi. Quando arrivo la strada finisce sulla sabbia: ci sono decine di furgoncini sono parcheggiati a delimitare la fine dell’asfalto e l’inizio della spiaggia e niente altro. Non trovi bar, chioschi, servizi, stabilimenti ... e dico anche ... "per fortuna !!!!" ... Camminando sul lunghissimo bagnasciuga incrociamo decine e decine di gruppi di aspiranti surfer attenti alle istruzioni impartite dai vari istruttori, decine di tavole sono allineate, quasi nessuno fa il bagno per il gusto di nuotare, continui a camminare e non vi è niente altro. Sullo sfondo lo splendido massiccio montagnoso al quale ha dato il suo nome, lo Risco de Famara che maestoso sembra digradare verso il mare.... spettacolare ! La sua fama è dovuta soprattutto al fatto che le condizioni meteorologiche, le correnti marine e l'arenile basso la rendono il posto ideale dove praticare surf e sport acquatici estremi, come il kite-surf. Ci si ritrovano diverse scuole di surf per svolgere sul campo i vari corsi. Lunga quasi 3 km, la spiaggia ha una sabbia molto sottile e di un colore bruno tendente allo scuro. A Playa Famara non sempre è possibile fare il bagno proprio a causa del forte vento da cui è spesso battuta, tuttavia vale certamente la pena visitarla. Qui il tempo sembra essersi fermato ed è la particolarità che rende magica questa spiaggia. MAGICA
Positive experience: Se ami il surf, questa è la spiaggia che fa per te: vento e onde garantite, decine di surfisti dall'alba al tramonto (ma la spiaggia è così grande che c'è spazio per tutti). Per chi invece vuole prendere il sole, verso il fondo della spiaggia ci sono diverse dune dove ci si può sdraiare stando riparati dal vento.
Positive experience: Spiaggia lunghissima con dune, peccato che il mare sia sempre agitato e per questo solo i surfisti si possono divertire.
Fantastic experience: Spiaggia dei surfisti. Il periodo d'onda non è il migliore però è una delle uniche spiagge di sabbia ed è molto lunga quindi vedrete un sacco di diverse scuole di surf che si contendono il litorale. Se nuotate state attenti a leggere davanti alla cabina dei bagnini i luoghi consigliati altrimenti ci sono forti correnti che possono costare la vita.

Fantastic experience: Stunning valley and beautiful wild landscape, I recommend going up to the viewpoint of Risco de Famara, it looks more beautiful from above than being on the beach itself. One of the most beautiful places in all of Lanzarote. It's not the prettiest I saw in the Canaries, as the Jandía Peninsula and Cofete beach in Fuerteventura are even more AMAZING.

Fantastic experience: Famara has been named the best beach for teaching surfing, due to the long duration of its waves and the consistency throughout the year, especially for beginners and less experienced surfers, because there is always one to try riding. It is the beach where all the schools in Lanzarote work. It is wonderfully wild, windy, and big.

Fantastic experience: The most beautiful beach, very fine sand, warm water at the shore... whoever loves the waves, it's perfect! But it is a perfect place to walk on the beach and take amazing pictures!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach especially for surfing. Unfortunately, no board rentals directly on the beach, only in Famara. On good days, unfortunately overcrowded with surf schools.
Fantastic experience: One of the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote, mostly frequented by surfers but not only. You can park for free on the roadside or in the village. There are no restroom facilities. It often gets windy and the weather can change abruptly, so for safety, bring a sweater.
Fantastic experience: Went surfing here with one of the local surf schools. Absolutely brilliant experience, the beach is huge with plenty of room for everyone. Big waves too! Brilliant!

Fantastic experience: Absolute dream beach, we would say it is the most beautiful beach in Lanzarote. It is perfectly located, the scenery is really great. The water is clear and has beautiful waves, many surfers around, swimming 'forbidden', always a red flag when we were there, but you can go in up to your waist, which is absolutely enough due to the currents. It is also very fun even without surfing, because of the great waves. But it is also dangerous, not suitable for children. Beautiful dunes in the back beach area.

Fantastic experience: You either love it or you hate it! There is no middle way!! Windy - surfers love this beach, wide and wild!!! My go to place to release negative energy in to the sea and wind and recharge my "batteries"!!! Ps . Don't go there!! We want to keep it only for us!!

Positive experience: Nice view with the mountains but you have to be very carefull with the rocks in the water. Because of the waves and foam of the water you don't see them properly and can get hurt very easily. Probably not the best option for families with little children. Maybe there are better parts of the beach then ours has been

Positive experience: Beautiful beach that is separated by the sand dunes by a 2 way road. Place is packed with surfers, that makes the place very chill. I didnt find any public restrooms that makes it tough if you want to enjoy a few beers watching surfers enjoy the waves. Bars are scarce... have to look for them and take into account the opening hours during the day. Plenty of space to park the car. Overall i would say it’s a must to spend some time on this beach.

Positive experience: Great place for surfing. Good waves and sand. Many surf schools visit the place on a daily basis as well. Sometimes strong current. No swimming allowed, just surfing. No facilities or toilets at the location.
Positive experience: Very quiet for a peaceful, chilled out holiday. This place is devoid of mass tourism but still had visitors of mixed nationality. Ideal for watersports enthusiasts. Has a range of good quality and value for money restaurants (La Posada Grill and Las Bajas to name a few). A car is a must if wanting to explore which needs to be arranged from the airport as there is NOT a car rental company in Famara, despite what Google says!

Fantastic experience: Over 4km of amazing beach (yes we walked it and counted). Sand and sea only, no distractions, cafes, pubs or whatnot. The odd surfing school and surfer but most amazing sea, calm by the shore, waves further in if you're bored or surfing. Loved it!

Fantastic experience: I loved the surf spot of famara! Im just a begginer and it totally fits with my level. There is also one part of the beach for experts so I guess it is suitable for everyone. I surfed with 3/2 and was not cold at all. Not crowdy in january and the weather is amazing. Highly recomandable

Positive experience: Famara. What to say except it's surfers paradise! For a small seaside town it has some seriously good seafood restaurants, cafes and cafe bar and small harbour. Rolling surf beaches and I would venture to suggest this area is for the commited experienced surfer dudes, not for beginners.
Positive experience: Great surf spot, big waves, unique beach. Gave it 4 stars because there is no toilet and its dificult to swim.otherwise great sunset view ( great for photos- seems you’re walking on water)
