Fantastic experience: Very calm beach to relax and to watch birds.

Fantastic experience: I did not have big expectations prior to visiting but I quickly changed my opinion. Nature and its elements have created something unique here. Best sunset ever.

Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach color, unique grains, like you rarely see! Before the volcanic rock is completely turned into sand... One of my favorite spots on the island! A free parking allows access to this beach.

It is a bit adventurous to drive to the beach over the bumpy road, but it's definitely worth it, even if, like today, the sun is not shining and it is windy. Instead of sun, high waves, the air is very salty. You must definitely check it out.

Fantastic experience: Wild beach, quite large. Its volcanic origin is noticeable as it is completely black. It has sandy areas, and others with small black pebbles. There is plenty of parking space and good views of the volcanic landscape.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely worth seeing: forget about a place to linger for a bath and relax, but it has an incredible energy. Water unexpectedly not too cold, big waves.

Positive experience: As a visit to see a beach with black sand, it's quite good because it's something different. As a beach to spend the day, it's not advisable for swimming; there are currents and a lot of stones. There is plenty of parking available. And the wind is quite strong. Nearby, you can see the salt flats, which are also beautiful.

Fantastic experience: A spectacular black sand beach that closes the Janubio lagoon from which a magnificent salt is extracted and highly recommended for cooking. If you are going to swim, it's better to do so with caution as this beach usually has strong waves and strong currents. I recommend swimming at the shore with caution and never venturing into deep waters. Magnificent to enjoy its beautiful sunset.

Fantastic experience: A few kilometers from the village of Yaiza lies the black sand beach Playa de Janubio, stretching for about a kilometer. Here, in the southwest of the island, there are the special dark sand beaches, interspersed with black volcanic rock. Spectacularly large and warm, but in winter it's very livable. Nearby, you can visit the salt flats. The parking is quite large.

Fantastic experience: Visitor center, small shop, toilet and the possibility to buy something to drink. There is an opportunity to walk along the salt pans with a guide and get information. Ample parking space. It's also nice to visit and take a look around yourself. In the shop, employees are working to fill jars with salt. From the viewpoint, there is a beautiful overview of the salt pans.

Fantastic experience: A small beach made of lava right next to the oldest saltworks in Lanzarote. Caution: swimming is at your own risk, no supervision. There are cliffs, undercurrents, and strong surf. The parking lot is paved and easy to navigate.

Fantastic experience: Very interesting visit. The guide is very engaging and explains everything in detail. The price is a bit high at €22 per person, but they offer a salt tasting and give you a small souvenir at the end of the visit to make up for it.

Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach for the contrast of black, blue, and white. Swimming is impossible, but being refreshed by the waves at high tide is enough. Not very crowded, nudity is possible without worry!

Fantastic experience: Beautiful! The black sand looks very unusual. The Atlantic in these areas is very restless. The waves hide large stones, so you need to be careful and cautious.

Fantastic experience: Beach for relaxation. Many olivines, semi-precious stones of volcanic nature. I saw a lot of jewelry on the island made with these stones. Here you can find a small stone as a keepsake. Swimming here is dangerous; when we were there, the weather didn’t allow swimming.

Fantastic experience: Black sandy beach with quite a wave, but a must-visit if you come to the island. The sunset here is spectacular as seen in the pictures, definitely one of the best on the island.

Fantastic experience: Black marvel. Fantastic beach, small grains of black volcanic sand and a cobalt blue sea, white foam when the waves crash against the shore. I think it's a bit dangerous to venture into the sea there, however, you absolutely must go.

Fantastic experience: The guided tour of the salt flats was the best activity I did during my visit to the island. It lasted almost two hours, during which, thanks to the reduced number of people per group, I left with a sense of closeness and a perfect understanding of the entire history and process of the salt flats. Also, thanks to Marcel, who was my guide and explained everything in great detail; it was clear that he enjoys what he does and has a lot of affection for this place. What I liked the most was seeing the brine shrimp; it is a beautiful little creature. At the end, I was able to do a salt tasting and buy the ones I liked the most to take home. There is also a café, which is appreciated because there are no such services in the area. I recommend bringing a cap.

Negative experience: Volcanic beach. No sand at all. Small pebbles and be careful with the big ones at the water's edge; once inside the water, it's all stones. Quite a lot of waves, which is fine for those of us who like that. Quite a bit of wind. In fact, there are areas with windbreaks made by people with stones. Parking is good. In my opinion, it's a dump; I prefer fine sand beaches. Full of mosquitoes, which I suppose is because of the nearby lagoon.

Negative experience: If you want to take a walk and see the sunset, it's great, but if you want to swim and enjoy the beach, it's not recommended at all, both because of the strong waves and the difficulty of getting in and out of the water, which is quite dangerous.

Positive experience: I have been to better beaches, but it is spacious and has a beautiful sunset to watch from the lookout next door.

Fantastic experience: It's a beach with a particular charm and it's suitable for those who want to be calm; in fact, not many people come here, when we were there it was almost deserted. The only aspect I must point out is that swimming is not possible, it's too dangerous, the waves are extremely strong and little by little it's possible that the beach might disappear due to high tide. It's worth visiting because it's beautiful!

Positive experience: Lovely area. Didn't see many birds bearing in mind its a nature conservation site. But still. Lovely vlocanic black sand beach with rocky areas and fairly strong tides lapping at the rocks. A nice walk . Some may want to know its a clothing optional beach too. Didn't bother me at all but some may be a bit put out by it.

Fantastic experience: A black shale beach with beautiful rugged views of the coast, lots of free parking, not much for kids but plenty of space for sunbathing popular with locals and the occasional nudist to broaden your horizons also nice coastal drive with spectacular views for the passengers ! Drivers need to keep focused to avoid becoming part of the scenery x

Fantastic experience: A dramatic and wild beach with some extraördinary lashing waves. The local authorities strongly advise against swimming there because of how strong the rip currents are, but it's a great place to just relax and admire nature's majesty. It's a rocky beach but the rocks are smooth and uncomfortable to lie on. My only wish is that access to the beach were better for pedestrians. There is a path along the salt pans, but it's not open to the public, so one has to walk along the highway, 1h 20m round trip from the nearest bus stop. Worth it though!

Positive experience: Interesting salt and desalination plant for the island. You can drive down to the small hut to buy salt recovered from the process. Be aware of the opening times as the gate does get shut and locked when they close. It’s possibly better to park outside the gate and take the opportunity to walk down to the hut and view the salt fields. An interesting historic area with great views!

Positive experience: A strange setting on Janubio beach. Black sand and nearby the lagoon where they collect sea salt, surrounded by lava rocks on either side.

Positive experience: Rather interesting, as far as salt ponds go, but not worth a lengthy detour. Unlesss you want to buy some really cheap salt!
