El Bollullo Beach
Information
Playa El Bollullo is a stunning beach known for its unique black volcanic sand and impressive waves. This remote location near Puerto de la Cruz offers a breathtaking landscape that attracts visitors, but access to the beach can be quite challenging. Here are some highlights:
- Beautiful Scenery: The beach's black sand and dramatic waves create a picturesque environment ideal for sunbathing and enjoying nature.
- Strong Waves: The ocean is known for its powerful waves, making it less suitable for swimming at times, especially when the red flag is up.
- Facilities: A beach bar is available, providing food and drinks, although you should expect limited bathroom facilities.
However, there are some drawbacks:
- Challenging Access: The road to the parking area is very narrow and can lead to considerable traffic jams. Parking costs around €5 for non-residents.
- Crowds: During peak season, the beach may get overcrowded, making it difficult to find a spot to relax.
- Steep Descent: Once you park, be prepared for a steep hike down to the beach, which can be tiring on the way back up.
Overall, Playa El Bollullo is a breathtaking beach worth visiting, but it's essential to plan your visit carefully to avoid the challenges associated with its accessibility.

Negative experience: Complicated access both by car and then on foot... forget about grandma. Once you arrive, there is no choice but to pay the parking fee of 5 euros. Nice beach, but nothing better than elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: A longer alley, down there's a parking lot for €5. Just a little reverse.
Positive experience: Very beautiful black sand beach, about a 10-minute walk from above. Unfortunately, swimming was prohibited, but it's still nice there! However, what you should know is that the marked parking lot at the beach can only be reached via an unacceptable unpaved and single-lane road, parking costs €5! So it's better to park further up.
Positive experience: To get to this beach, you have to be prepared for a bit of effort and many stairs. The landscape is beautiful, especially when walking from Puerto de la Cruz. You pass by banana plantations, see plenty of lizards (one bit me, that was quite an experience), go through a valley, which naturally involves going down and up, where you see volcanic rocks and a small cave. To reach the beach, there's another significant descent. The beach itself has fine black sand, a bit of shade, and breathtaking cliffs all around, but you should check the waves/wind beforehand, so you don't hike there and then can't swim. If you go swimming, save some energy for the return trip ;)
Fantastic experience: Nice place. High waves. We arrived in the morning and there was still plenty of space in the parking lot for 5€. Then you have to go down a steep path with some steps to reach the beach. There were 3 lifeguards but they didn't let you swim peacefully. You could only wade up to your waist in the waves.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful volcanic black sand beach near Puerto de la Cruz, difficult to access via a single-lane road that runs between banana plantations, and where parking is only possible at the restaurant located just above the beach for a fee of €5. But it's worth it.
Fantastic experience: A beauty of volcanic sand.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove with volcanic sand. There are big waves, not many people. There's a parking area above, next to the restaurant. The access, despite descending from the mountain, is manageable. It's better to go with shoes. If you take advantage from Puerto de la Cruz, you pass through very beautiful banana plantations.
Fantastic experience: From the La Paz neighborhood in Puerto de la Cruz, I walked among banana plantations and remnants of volcanic activity with very good views. I just regret the incivility of the urinating individuals in the last stretch, which leaves a rather unpleasant smell, and the beachgoers, who despite the prohibition of descending to the beach due to the risk of landslides, ignore the recommendation.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful volcanic sand beach. You can get to the upper parking lots located at the restaurant, which charges three euros. From there you reach the beach by a small path, about ten minutes on foot. The beach is very nice, with very fine sand, which is difficult to clean. Down at the beach there is another beach bar where you can eat.

Negative experience: Swimming is forbidden, and you only find out when you get to the bottom!! You get whistled at if you even go down to your waist in the water, due to alleged strong currents... Well, it wasn't like that, just nice waves :( Otherwise, a beautiful small beach with black sand, nice little bar. The drive down is a nightmare, just wide enough for one car, beware if a car comes the other way :))

Fantastic experience: Beautiful black sand beach with nice waves. Don't hesitate to walk to get there. We walked back to our vehicle faster than the cars stuck coming back from the parking.

Negative experience: Due to the excellent reviews, we visited Playa Bollulo today. Five euros for parking fees for a parking space and an access road that is really borderline can still be understood. However, we find it completely inappropriate that one descends to the beach, which is admittedly very beautiful, without even being allowed to enter it. Swimming has been prohibited here for a long time. It doesn't matter that the beach bar is really nice, although I don't like to drink my beverages from plastic cups. That is no longer contemporary. The return trip along the much too narrow road was more than just adventurous, as there are hardly any passing points and driving backwards in some places is very difficult. The beach may have once been a nice place, but in my opinion, getting there by car is not an option right now, and whether a footpath to a beach you can't even enter is worth it is something everyone can decide for themselves.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful volcanic black sand beach near Puerto de la Cruz, difficult to access via a single-lane road that runs between banana plantations, and where parking is only possible at the restaurant located just above the beach for a fee of €5. But it's worth it.
Positive experience: We parked on El Rincon street, the street that goes down to the restaurant without Diego. Lots of parking spaces and the walk to the beach takes about 20 minutes, very easily. The sand was hot, and the waves dangerous so we just dipped our feet in, what a shame. But the place is beautiful. If you are adventurous, you can take the road to the parking lot which costs €5, and when you meet another car, you play rock-paper-scissors and the one who loses backs up!!
Positive experience: It's a nice and beautiful beach, but you have to keep in mind that there will likely be a red flag due to the waves. Aside from that, access is quite complicated to get there. Next to the restaurant El Bollullo, there is a parking lot for €5 to leave your car all day, but to get to that parking you either have to go very early or later on it gets complicated to access because there is only one road that is theoretically two-way but for most of the stretch only one car can fit. So it's better to pray on the way that you don't encounter another car coming head-on.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach somewhat difficult to access, so we recommend going there early in the morning (~10-11 AM), as the road is very narrow and two vehicles cannot pass at the same time. Bring flip-flops (the black sand, while beautiful, becomes very hot, hotter than white sand, watch your feet). Otherwise, umbrellas can be rented from the lifeguards (~€3.00 per day). In addition, a restaurant with a bar is a few meters from the water's edge.

Positive experience: We have been to the famous Bollullo beach, the views and the black sand beach were worth seeing and visiting, beautiful. But the access is the worst I have ever seen, a narrow single lane for a large part of the way to go up and down in the same direction, on steep slopes except for the first part of the wider road, the rest is terrible. I had to get out to act as a traffic guard for the entire way, with a mess of cars going backwards and no maneuvering space, you don't even have a minimum of help that could perfectly be a traffic light to stop everything that goes up and everything that comes down. It has been incredibly stressful to go down to this beach. There is limited paid parking at the bottom for non-residents at €5. On the other hand, there is a beach bar and lifeguards down there to help and get something to drink, it is a wild beach with strong currents and very high waves. But I repeat, it is a spectacular beach to visit. Up there today is a restaurant bar where you can eat well and they treat you nicely, although they take a long time to serve you. If I ever come back to Tenerife and pass through here, it will be on a motorcycle. I won't go through that suffering again.
Positive experience: Bollullo Beach is great. We went there by car. The drive to the parking lot takes a lot of patience because the road is very narrow, but there is a small cove every 100 meters to let others pass. Parking costs 5 Euros. Then it takes a good 5 minutes to get to the beach. There are many stairs. At the bottom, there is a bar. Toilets, unfortunately no shower. You can rent umbrellas and loungers from the lifeguards. A lounger and umbrella cost 3 Euros. The beach is clean, the water is clear, no rocks and good waves. The only downside is the tide. From 4:00 PM, the water starts to flood the beach. And you have to move everything further back. By around 6 PM it gets cramped. Many pack up and leave. We would go back and place ourselves further from the water to have some peace :-)). Can only recommend.
Positive experience: Pure adventure! The access to the parking lot is the first challenge, as the road only allows space for one car. Once you reach the parking lot (5 euros a day), you still have about 550m to walk to the beach (downhill, of course). The beach itself is very beautiful. However, swimming can become life-threatening at any moment! We had great waves, which was a lot of fun. However, the current is very dangerous and shouldn't be underestimated! There were 2 lifeguards on duty at the beach. There are no showers. We didn't use the beach bar.
Fantastic experience: El Bollullo is my lifelong beach. But I am a bit disappointed, I have been on vacation for a week and going to the same one. Those of us who go down know that the access is a bit complicated but I don't complain, the asphalt could not be worse, but I don't complain. But reaching the end of the path and finding a lot of trash bags is very unpleasant. We have a closed beach due to a landslide (Los Patos) let's hope they don't close another one due to litter not being picked up. The lifeguards take care of emptying the trash bins and keeping the beach in perfect condition. But who is responsible for carrying all the bags up???

Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful place
Positive experience: Beautiful beach in a quiet location, but at least now in November, it was closed during the high tide.
Negative experience: Swimming is forbidden, and you only find out when you get to the bottom!! You get whistled at if you even go down to your waist in the water, due to alleged strong currents... Fantastic experience: Very good beach. It is not as calm as many on the island, but it's worth it. You can drive there, but walking makes for a nice excursion.

Positive experience: Beach that is earned! Very steep road to get there, followed by a long descent on foot. Superb view. Lots of waves, good for surfers but not easy for swimming quietly.
Positive experience: nice black sand beach that reminds me of Bali, however, not safe for swimming due to the undertow and huge waves...great surfers spot!

Fantastic experience: Spectacular scenery and a beach with very fun waves
Fantastic experience: Wide and very beautiful black sand beach. It is also very fun due to the big waves. We went to the parking lot that costs 3 euros, although the road is single-lane and you have to look for pull-outs when another car comes. From the parking lot, it's a 10-minute walk. Alternatively, you can also leave the car further away and walk more.

Negative experience: Complicated access both by car and then on foot... forget about grandma. Once you arrive, there is no choice but to pay the parking fee of 5 euros. Nice beach, but nothing better than elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful place
Negative experience: The beach is still closed, as are many other smaller beaches in Tenerife.
Positive experience: Beautiful natural beach
Fantastic experience: A longer alley, down there's a parking lot for €5. Just a little reverse.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach with clean black sand, not too crowded, there is a restaurant, paid parking 5 euros for non-residents, a narrow road to the parking lot for one car with widenings, preferably an experienced driver.

Fantastic experience: Superb beach, I highly recommend it. Pleasant for relaxing and taking a walk, with stairs before and after. If you don’t like walking or climbing, it’s best to avoid it.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach in a quiet location, but at least now in November, it was closed during the high tide.
Positive experience: Too much walk. Asphalt to the beach wasn't good! But a very good view
Negative experience: Very complicated access that they do not warn about. As with most places in August, it is very crowded, and arriving by car is an impossible task due to a road (if you can call it that) that is super narrow and can only fit one car, and it is two-way, leading to continuous encounters of cars in both directions and chaos. The beach is a small cove that, as there is no type of capacity control, is completely full, barely even a stone free to leave your clothes. I suppose at another time of year it would be a very nice place to visit, but in high season it's better to refrain.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful volcanic black sand beach near Puerto de la Cruz, difficult to access via a single-lane road that runs between banana plantations, and where parking is only possible at the restaurant located just above the beach for a fee of €5. But it's worth it.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black sand beach with nice waves. Don't hesitate to walk to get there. We walked back to our vehicle faster than the cars stuck coming back from the parking.
Fantastic experience: It's best to park further away and then walk to the beach; the access is often blocked with cars.
Fantastic experience: Super beach located at a reasonable distance from the city.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful wild beach with big waves. Complex access to the parking lot, only for good drivers. But there is an amazing bistro on the beach.
Negative experience: The road to the beach is two-way but only fits one car and just barely. There are massive traffic jams. It's not worth it.
Positive experience: Very beautiful beach, difficult access since it is a narrow and pothole-filled single-lane road, and in many stretches, two cars can't fit. The parking is paid, €5 for non-residents, €3 for residents.
Negative experience: The beach is surely beautiful but the access is terrible. We encountered cars coming down as we were going up, and we all spent a while doing complex maneuvers to let each other pass, a really bad experience.
Fantastic experience: Best beach, you have a lot of banana trees on the way
Positive experience: Very beautiful beach. When we went there was a red flag. Parking is 5 euros, but you have to drive along a very narrow two-way road where only one car can fit. Access becomes complicated during peak hours. On the other hand, you have to go down about 15 minutes on well-equipped stairs to reach the beach.
Fantastic experience: Very good beach. It is not as calm as many on the island, but it's worth it. You can drive there, but walking makes for a nice excursion.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, but getting there is an ODYSSEY. There is only a very narrow road, and you constantly have to backtrack to let others pass. Today we specifically had to reverse a very long and dangerous stretch, because on the left, there is a cliff. On the way back, others experienced the same, I’m attaching a photo of the traffic jam.
Fantastic experience: The way is worth it
Positive experience: Beautiful beach somewhat difficult to access, so we recommend going there early in the morning (~10-11 AM), as the road is very narrow and two vehicles cannot pass at the same time. Bring flip-flops (the black sand, while beautiful, becomes very hot, hotter than white sand, watch your feet). Otherwise, umbrellas can be rented from the lifeguards (~€3.00 per day). In addition, a restaurant with a bar is a few meters from the water's edge.
Negative experience: Dangerous road by car! I drove dozens of meters in reverse to avoid colliding with those coming from the beach. I turned back and made a U-turn at the first widening. Terrible and dangerous experience.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach but with a complicated drive down. There's a parking lot at the bottom, for foreigners it's €5 (which isn't much, but it's not the mentioned €3). Unfortunately, we found the beach with a red flag and it's really not worth trying the waves. Beautiful view, etc., but we didn't enjoy swimming there much, the number of people was just right, but going back up after 5 PM was almost a superhuman effort. There are definitely more beautiful places for swimming. There is also a restaurant on site with relatively interesting prices. For me, an average experience.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, very narrow access when having to pass another car. Parking on site at the hotel is €5.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, the waves were quite big on the day we visited (up to 3-4 meters). It is not crowded probably due to the difficult access, the road is narrow, then you have to walk for about 10 minutes. Parking at the restaurant - 5 euros.
Fantastic experience: A beauty of volcanic sand.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach but difficult to access as it is a narrow one-lane road but cars go in both directions.
If I ever come back to Tenerife and pass through here, it will be on a motorcycle. I won't go through that suffering again.
Negative experience: I think good ratings will come when one can swim or enjoy the views. But I do not recommend this beach. Access to the parking is very complicated with a one-way road; in the parking lot, you pay to park at the restaurant there (5€ for non-residents). Then the access is complicated with steps and significant height. It’s easy to go down, but more complicated to go up, of course. There are no showers to clean your feet, even. I believe the worst part is what I mentioned, getting to the parking lot by car and hoping not to encounter anyone coming from the opposite direction.
Negative experience: Narrow place to go down and only one lane. If you are not skilled with the car, it's better not to try because you have to pull aside if there is traffic. You go down to the beach and there is no place to park, you only have the option to pay €5 at the restaurant for their parking. To be in a crowded beach and on top of that there is no parking space, it's better to go somewhere else.
Positive experience: A very beautiful beach. We were caught with a red flag, but still, it is a very nice place. The only thing to know is that getting there is a complicated downhill, where only one car can fit, and it's an uphill and downhill road.
Negative experience: I don't know what the beach is like because it was impossible to go down, the access is very bad, cars go up and down the same path and it's impossible to pass. Either you leave the car up and give yourself a hard time going down and then back up, or I don't recommend going down.
Negative experience: Warning ⚠️ getting to the beach by car uses a very narrow one-lane road with two-way traffic and little to no places to pass by. Do not attempt this route unless you are an experienced driver and have a powerful car.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black sand beach with incredible waves. While the sea can be dangerous, and swimming is prohibited at certain times, you are allowed to enjoy the water in the shallow area. As from other reviews, parking can be challenging, as it is past a narrow road, where oncoming cars cannot pass each other. Instead, would recommended to park (for free) on Calle Aceviño, a much wider street with lots of spaces, and taking the easy 15-20 minute walk along Camino a la Playa El Bollullo to reach the beach.
Positive experience: The road to the beach is one-lane. Another rental car scratched and damaged our mirror significantly. Parking costs 5 euros per day. You then have to walk down the cliffs. The beach has black sand and is very hot, closed shoes are recommended! There is no shade. However, a rental umbrella costs only 3 euros. The waves were very high and strong.
Positive experience: Beautiful black sand beach. Formerly a 'hidden gem', but now (although not very easy to reach) sometimes quite crowded. Still always worth a visit.
Positive experience: The beach is really great. Fine black sand beach with many waves that are really fun. BUT (!) the way down/up by car is terrible... As others have written, you can only hope that no one comes the other way. It took us about 15 minutes down around 3 PM and about 25 minutes up around 6 PM because there are drivers who can't drive properly. Parking costs €5 if you don't eat at the restaurant. We comfortably walked down the stairs in about 5 minutes. There are no showers or 'lifeguards' down there. However, you can rent umbrellas or sunbeds. We didn't visit the beach bar. I found the beach beautiful, but I wouldn't drive back because of the access.
Fantastic experience: The access is complicated by car, the road is very narrow, only one car can pass through most sections, but it is worth it.
Negative experience: Access is via a road where only one car can pass. When you arrive at the parking lot, you are met by two individuals who charge you €5 without giving you any kind of receipt. The best part comes when it's time to leave. The collectors act as if they control the traffic on the road so you don't have problems and make you wait for 10 minutes. Then the party begins, as they don't control or care about anything, and it's the drivers themselves who have to collaborate to untangle the chaos. Cars wanting to enter and others wanting to leave, but there's no room and no spaces to escape. Today it took 50 minutes for a journey of 2. Angry people, scratched cars backing up, etc... The beach is okay, there are others with more services and better access. Avoid it whether you are a local or a tourist. It's better to park far and walk down. You'll arrive sooner and without problems.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach!! Difficult access by car and walking!! But it's worth it!! Gorgeous beach with many waves!!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove with volcanic sand. There are big waves, not many people. There's a parking area above, next to the restaurant. The access, despite descending from the mountain, is manageable. It's better to go with shoes. If you take advantage from Puerto de la Cruz, you pass through very beautiful banana plantations.
Fantastic experience: First of all, I must say that the beach is beautiful and worth seeing!!! I have to say that the road is terrible, only one car can fit but it is two-way. There is parking at the beach but it costs 5€ unless you are a resident. And to get down to the beach, there is a big descent with ramps and stairs! But it is worth it.
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite beaches with a great view
Fantastic experience: The access to the beach is via a narrow road. When encountering an oncoming car, you have to pull into lay-bys or driveways. However, it is completely feasible for an experienced driver. The parking fee is €5. There is a restaurant at the top and at the beach. The prices at the restaurants are average, but it's not very cheap. Access to the beach is via a small path with some stairs. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to the beach. At the beach, there is a small restaurant with toilets. There is no shower. The waves are relatively high. If you enjoy throwing yourself into the waves, this is the right place for you. It is definitely a beautiful beach that is not too crowded.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach. The way down to the beach is as much of an experience as the narrow access road leading to the Bollullo restaurant. I think this place is a must for all Tenerife visitors.
Fantastic experience: It's a beautiful beach and perfect for doing anything; the only downside is that the two-way street often gets blocked by cars (I recommend parking nearby and walking down).
Fantastic experience: Nice beach. It's worth taking the path through the banana plantations. Black sand and some waves.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, black sand, it is earned, a bit of a walk to get there and a very narrow road to access it.
Positive experience: Black lounging beach. You access the water over small stones. Sometimes, brown algae can spoil the joy of swimming.
Negative experience: Attention scammers!!!! Some people stand there and charge for entry to the beach... At least they try... When they should actually only be collecting parking fees. Then there’s trash, trash, trash, and even more trash as far as the eye can see. It smells like urine everywhere. I was truly shocked when I was here. I remembered the beach as one of the most beautiful. I don't understand those responsible for not taking care of it and for not cleaning up the long way of trash. It's really very sad to see it live. This isn’t trash from just one day.
Fantastic experience: Great beach with very nice small eateries. Loungers and umbrellas can be rented.
Fantastic experience: A superb beach with black sand, one of the most beautiful beaches in Tenerife.
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach with black sand. Unfortunately, the parking costs 5 euros for the whole day (you can pay by card or cash). As the evening approaches, the waves get stronger, and you really have to be careful, especially for smaller children, it is dangerous. I recommend setting up closer to the beginning of the beach because the tide can flood us if we set up too close to the water. On the plus side, cheap sunbeds (2 euros) and their high availability.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach in Tenerife, worth a walk, about 40 minutes on foot from the center. The path is picturesque in places among the banana trees.
Fantastic experience: Ancon Beach, next to Bollullo. What to say but 'splendid'. It is a beach that must be earned, as you have to walk about 15 to 20 minutes down the cliff along very secure stairs. Fine black sand beach, sea with beautiful waves, perfect for enthusiasts, not very crowded. Very refreshing and really typical of the north of the island. The climb back is tough, but nothing comes without effort. Important: do not place your towel at the foot of the cliffs, as some stones fall from time to time! It is better to set up a parasol on the sand to have shade ☺️
Fantastic experience: The boys (9 and 11) loved swimming at this beach. Be careful, there are waves. But for swimmers, it's great for having fun. The road is a bit tight to get there, but it's always manageable ;).
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach worth the walk
Negative experience: Horrible access, narrow two-way road. Easy to hit your car. Paid parking 5e. Terrible experience.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, it just needs to be made more accessible to the public!
Fantastic experience: A beautiful beach well worth the journey from town! Just make sure to bring toilet paper! There’s one restroom and no toilet paper! Otherwise, the beach itself is lovely and I highly recommend renting a beach chair/umbrella for only €3 a piece.
Positive experience: The beach is a bit farther away; getting there requires walking more, but it's good because there aren't so many people. There is a nice beach bar.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, beach bar, €5 parking for non-residents, not suitable for elderly people as there are stairs to go down and then up. If going with children.
Fantastic experience: What can I say about this place, I have been to this beach and the beach bar many times. Every time it gets better, I have been on very hot days with intense sun or cloudy days and it is still pleasant. I like being able to sunbathe, lie on the sand, take a dip in the water, etc. I also like it because if I feel like having a drink or something to eat, just going to the beach bar and ordering either a mojito, soft drinks or something to eat is enough. They usually play music in the beach bar, so the atmosphere is great for spending some time at the beach.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, a 3/4 hour walk from the city. The path leads through a banana plantation, which I think is adventurous.
Fantastic experience: Hard to reach but an amazing beach. There is a bar/terrace down and you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. Parking is 5 euros per day.
Fantastic experience: The most beautiful place. Bad road and parking.
Fantastic experience: Mega nice beach, I recommend visiting.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach on the north coast. The access is very difficult, as the road is very narrow and in poor condition. Parking costs €5 for tourists and €3 for locals, which is a rip-off.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful black beach that is accessible via a staircase. There is a small bar on the beach that offers delicious drinks and good food. Lifeguard is also on site. The restaurant above offers a good selection of food and drinks. The view is fantastic. Thank you for the good service.
Negative experience: A beautiful beach! But very disappointed to pay €5 for entry, to have a parking lot of stones and dirt, as well as the path to the beach that is not maintained and with trash everywhere.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with black sand and high waves. There is a lifeguard on duty during the season, an open bar, toilet facilities, and the possibility to rent umbrellas and sunbeds. However, you first have to navigate a narrow road, where it often happens that one car has to reverse in search of a free spot to let the oncoming one pass. Therefore, I recommend driving only for those with appropriate skills. At the end of the road, there is a restaurant open until late hours. It has two parking lots with a total of about 50-60 cars. It costs 5 euros per day. Next, you have to go down to the beach using concrete steps. It is advisable to wear flip-flops because the sand can literally burn your feet. The waves are so high that there is no boredom in the water. Next to it is a very similar beach but slightly smaller.
Fantastic experience: really beautiful beach with black sand. you have to take quite a few steps. it takes about 5 minutes to walk down from the parking lot. the access to the parking lot is very narrow and if there is oncoming traffic, you sometimes have to drive backwards to make space. but overall, the stay is worth it. so far one of the most beautiful beaches we have visited in tenerife.
Fantastic experience: Another interesting beach in the north of Tenerife. Black sand, high waves... You don't have to squeeze in (and the road is narrow and winding) to the paid parking just above the cliff. You can leave the car by the roadside, where it is still two lanes, then just a 15 min walk.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular scenery and a beach with very fun waves
Positive experience: It made me feel depressed... The best part was the seagulls flying
Fantastic experience: Spectacular! I love this beach, the only thing is the access which you have to take with some effort to then climb up.
Fantastic experience: Beach of difficult access. There is a bar's parking lot, but getting there is an odyssey, a two-way road where not even one car can fit. Still, it is worth it, but I recommend going on foot.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to see at sunset.
Fantastic experience: Super beautiful and long beach. Incredible, you park in the parking lot of the Bollullo restaurant which costs €5 if you are not a resident and €3 for residents. You have to go down some small steps to get there but it’s very easy and quick.
Fantastic experience: Overall it is a fine black sand beach with enough room for a bigger crowd. It takes a while to get there. When you reach the end of the parking spot signs you can choose to turn around or pay an ok-ish 5 € for a dirt strip parking lot, which is fine imho. The way to bollullo is again showing what fellow earth dwellers (humans too nice a word) are capable of… part of the upper bushes are riddled with human leftovers. The ones from the rear end if you ask. Then a boardwalk type of staircase for part of the way and the beach itself is very nice but probably only for sunbathing and having a snack/drink at the adjacent beach restaurant. So if you plan swimming, there are signs warning of rip tides. Still was a nice experience… the thingies in the bushes not so much.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach. Picturesque views on the way from Puerto - we walked there. Soft sand. Perfect place to relax.
Fantastic experience: Dreamy little beach, fine black sand. Not easy to reach. Bar available. Top!
Positive experience: This beach is very good for relaxing and swimming; the only thing is that there are very big waves and dangerous jellyfish that can cause very bad stings. Besides, the water is muddy due to the sand, and because of this, you can't really see them. Everything else is excellent. I highly recommend it.
Positive experience: A very beautiful place, there is paid parking, 5 euros for as long as you want. There are two beaches on the property. One is wider, the other narrower. We went down to the narrow beach, we had just sat down and a wave hit us along with our documents, child, and clothes. We were in shock. If it's your first time at the ocean, choose the wider beach to stay as far away from the water as possible.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, large beach with black sand that sparkles in the sun. Probably the most beautiful one in Tenerife :) Strong, high waves, but that's part of its charm. You can stand in the water and it's great too. The access to the beach is narrow, and parking at the end costs €5. You can also walk there, for example, from the banana plantations.
Negative experience: They force you to pay at the only parking lot available since it belongs to a restaurant and there is no other option.
