Cantarriján Nudist Beach
Information
The Nudist Beach of Cantarriján, located on the Granada coast, is a beautiful spot known for both its naturism and stunning natural surroundings. Here are some highlights:
- Tranquil Environment: The beach features calm waves and is ideal for relaxation.
- Access: From mid-June to mid-September, access is facilitated by a convenient shuttle service for only €3 round trip.
- Services Available: There are two beach bars where visitors can enjoy local delicacies and drinks.
- Beautiful Waters: The crystal-clear waters are perfect for snorkeling, with fish often spotted swimming close to shore.
- Mixed Atmosphere: Although it is primarily a naturist beach, many textile bathers also visit, particularly in summer.
However, some visitors have noted the following:
- The beach can become very crowded, especially on weekends.
- The stony beach requires appropriate footwear, as flip-flops can be uncomfortable.
- Some have expressed concerns about the behavior of a few patrons and the need for a more regulated atmosphere.
- While the surroundings are lovely, the access points and parking areas might need better maintenance.
Overall, Cantarriján is highly recommended for those seeking a unique beach experience with the option to relax in a naturist setting, provided you plan ahead for the crowds during peak season.

Positive experience: In the summer the lower car park is closed. Instead you park at the top. If the car park is full, there are two more car parks nearby along the road. Parking is free. Then take shuttle bus to the beach. Runs every 15 mins. EUR 3 per person return. Pay cash or credit card in the kiosk. Many people come by yachts and boats. Crowd is very diverse: families with kids, couples, gay men, youngsters, elderly, and of course a few single guys on a lookout. Beach is very nice nested between hills. No black sand making water crystal clear. Plenty of big fish hungry for your bread. Beach is large stones and small pebbles. They don’t have sharp edges but could be difficult to walk without shoes. Beach is very clean, no rubbish. The beach is divided by a rock into two parts. The first one has the majority of textiles with a small number of naturists who don’t care if someone is looking at them (I admire their confidence!). The second part has the majority of naturists with a small number of textiles who don’t care (full stop). There is a traffic cone sign “solo nudista” when entering the beach past the dividing rock. The first part is very crowded but you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, the second part has no facilities and more space. There is a toilet near the restaurant. We haven’t seen showers. 4 stars only because of the EUR 3 bus fee (for a large family it becomes expensive). You can possibly walk from the car park, but the way back uphill is ~1.4 km…
Fantastic experience: Fantastic little beach with parking and two restaurants with fabulous views it is a nudist beach, but not everyone is also there is a more secluded beach area to the left of the main beach.
Positive experience: Road with many hairpin bends .. at the end a large parking lot free of charge! Well-equipped beach with (if desired) deck chairs and umbrellas (inexpensive) by talking to the friendly ROBERTO! Behind there are 2 restaurants Barracca and Bola Marina! We had a good lunch at the second one‼️
Positive experience: Very beautiful cove with a beach bar, I imagine that when it was not known it would have been a paradise, but currently, if you don't go outside of holiday season, it's complicated to get there. Fantastic experience: This was such a nice beach! Great fluffy bed mattresses and a great restaurant Barraca. Waiters a bit rude, but what the hell. Clear water filled with fishes. Parking next to the beach. You can be nude, but not obliged.

Negative experience: The beach was good years ago, now like all others it's full of people in swimwear and dogs when they are forbidden, and this being a reserve. In the end, it's all a business. The bus service is outrageous, €3, and more than 80% of the crowd is staring without holding back. I do not recommend it, and check the social media, they take pictures of people if you walk around with your phone.
Positive experience: Se accede con un autobús. El chofer fuma conduciendo. Te encuentras perros bañandose a tu lado. Ningun control. Mas tèxtil que nudista
Positive experience: Buena playa.

Negative experience: I really don’t understand positive ratings here. We found a beach horrible. There’s not even pebbles. There are pretty large stones and it hurts to walk on them. I don’t have a problem with a pebble Beach. Also, the water was not very clean given it was just a stone beach I would’ve expected more. Given the difficult Approach where you wait 20 minutes for a shuttle bus. This is definitely not worth it. They are nice of beaches.
Positive experience: It is a beautiful beach in a natural setting, you have to leave the car in the parking lot and take a mini bus to the beach that costs €3 per person and takes about 5 minutes to get there. If you're lucky, you can see deer from the minibus. The beach is made of pebbles, which is the downside; you should wear water shoes or booties instead of flip-flops. The water is completely clear, and you can see beautiful fish right at the shore. There are two restaurants.
Fantastic experience: A nudist beach par excellence, but where there are practically equal numbers of nudists and textiles. From June to September, you have to take shuttles to avoid overcrowding, as it belongs to the natural area of Maro-Cerro Gordo. The beach is naturally divided into two zones, in the first one you access there is a restaurant. The beach is made of stones, thanks to this the water is crystal clear and you can see the fish swimming around you perfectly at the shore. Ideal for snorkeling.

Fantastic experience: Great beach. Two good restaurants. Drinks ordered from your sunbed. 2 decent sunbeds and parasol €14. All settled at the end of your stay in one go (cash or card). Booking next year to be near this beach. Water clean and calm. Beach shoes and advantage but not necessary.

Positive experience: The beach is a 10. However, if you expect it to be less crowded, in my case it was not. To get down to the beach you have to take a bus. Round trip 3 euros. Don't save yourself the walk. The slopes are tremendous. As for food, we ate at La Barraca. The rice is by order, although it doesn't say so anywhere. If you order fish, make sure you know how much it will cost you to avoid surprises... from personal experience. The bill for 4 people without wine or desserts was 150 euros. Another thing, there are no lifeguards and the showers that are available are from the beach bar, for a fee. The clear water is worth it.

Positive experience: Playa naturista y protegida espectacular.

Fantastic experience: Lovely beach mainly for naturists. Crystal clear water and great for snorkelling. Off the beaten track. Loads of local Spanish people which is always a good sign that both of the restaurants are decent.
Fantastic experience: I loved snorkeling at this beach. As for it being a naturist beach, I don't mind, but I don't think I'm doing anything wrong by wearing a swimsuit. Indecent acts occur.
Positive experience: Beautiful gravel beach with clear waters, very good for snorkeling with many fish around us. Restaurant on the beach, large parking.
Fantastic experience: I normally prefer the more wild naturist beaches without any amenities, so this beach was certainly a different option. However, it was a perfect choice for my wife and myself; she doesn't like baring all on the beach, so this allowed us both to sunbathe as we liked. We came here for 3 days, which shows how comfortable my wife was being on a clothing-optional beach. We settled in front of Bol Marina 2 with a mix of textile and nudist bathers. The demographic was a mixture of ages with single people, couples, families, and gay couples all happy to mix. The secluded bay is exclusively nudist. Beds and parasols were 14€ for 2 beds, and you can have drinks brought to you for a 1€ surcharge. We visited towards the end of September; the weather was still good with great snorkeling the first day. The sea was rougher the next 2 days, so we were unable to snorkel, but the waves were great fun, although a bit strong at times. Absolutely loved it... oh, and the mojitos!

Fantastic experience: Toller Stein-Strand, sauberes Wasser, viele Fische auch ohne Taucherbrille sichtbar, kaum Wellen (daher für Kinder geeignet, geht jedoch recht schnell tief). Fast keine naturgegeben Schattenplätze vorhanden. Gemischt (Alter/Geschlecht) angenehmes Publikum, keiner aufdränglich.

Fantastic experience: Super for naturists and two very good restaurants..has live music at weekends beach loungers for rent and kayaks for rent..perfect for the nude sunbather

Cantarriján Nudist Beach: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Excellent beach , Really nice place , for thous who would like to keep feet 1.5 km down the heel and the same up , however buses running regularly)))

Negative experience: It's should a beach for naturist, but 90% of people wearing clothes, I was feeling really strange that I was only one person without.
Positive experience: Nice playa nudista ;-) refreshents and nice sunbeds (8€). Only it’s a bit Rocky
Fantastic experience: the rocks a get really hot, but the water is perfect
Negative experience: I really don’t understand positive ratings here. We found a beach horrible. There’s not even pebbles. There are pretty large stones and it hurts to walk on them. Positive experience: Good food for the location.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful!!! Although to get to know it we went in the middle of winter!! In summer it is impossible. Too many people for a small cove.
Negative experience: Beautiful nude beach. It's a shame about the many homosexuals who come in pairs to exhibit themselves in acts not suitable for a public place.. They'd better stay home to do those things.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful. At this time of year, there aren't many visitors here.
Fantastic experience: Such a beautiful spot! Welcoming environment, stunning nature, nudity friendly!
Fantastic experience: Before you go, know that this is a beach to go WITHOUT CLOTHING; if you're not going to do it, there are other coves and beaches nearby that are quieter, less crowded, and just as good for going with clothes. Come and dare..., the beach and the rest of the users will be happy to meet you.
Fantastic experience: It was already late November and we didn't go down to the beach. But it is set in a Natural Park of Cliffs and coves. A beauty.
Fantastic experience: ♥️
Fantastic experience: Nudist Beach still very welcoming lovely drive through a valley all done hill. Walk around nudist no problem bathing suit not necessary lovely clean beach ️⛱️
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach away from the main road
Positive experience: It's a shame that every year the influx of tourists in swimsuits multiplies.
Positive experience: Very beautiful cove with a beach bar, I imagine that when it was not known it would have been a paradise, but currently, if you don't go outside of holiday season, it's complicated to get there. I visited in October with spectacular weather but you have to go down a path that, considering what it is, is in very good condition. However, in high season, you have to park up and go down on a shuttle bus. It's also worth mentioning that the beach allows freedom regarding nudity.
Fantastic experience: This was such a nice beach! Great fluffy bed mattresses and a great restaurant Barraca. Waiters a bit rude, but what the hell. Clear water filled with fishes. Parking next to the beach. You can be nude, but not obliged.
Negative experience: Not a very naturist beach, therefore not very nudist. The atmosphere is trashy and low-class. The beach isn't worth anything, besides having such poor access. It's not worth going down there to see what there is, and the cherry on top was paying €2.70 for a can of classic Alhambra beer at the beach bar. On a scale from 0 to 10, it's a flat zero. I won't be going back or recommending it to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Undoubtedly one of the most idyllic spots along the entire coast of the Alboran Sea, it has two quality beach bars in a paradise-like setting. On the way down to the beach, you can sometimes see mountain goats and wild boars. During the summer months, there is a minibus service to take you down to the beach from the road since access with private vehicles is prohibited.
Fantastic experience: A magnificent beach reclaimed for nudism by the AAPNC association. If you have made it to this beach and see people practicing nudism, give it a try yourself, don’t miss out on that experience, you’ll surely enjoy it.
Negative experience: Beach full of textiles. The effect has been very noticeable, especially this August. The first cove is already textile and the second is going the same way. The truth is that with similar beaches like El Cañuelo, it is hard to understand the insistence of certain people to come to this place. They argue that there is no 'law' preventing them from wearing swimsuits. The reality is that it is a matter of education, but that is something for each person, and there are many who do not have it and even take pride in it. That's what we have left. The consequence is that the beach is overcrowded. Goodbye Cantarrijan.
Positive experience: Only 10% is nudist. The best part is the beach bars.
Fantastic experience: Very nice naturist pebble beach with clear water. Three parking lots and a shuttle for 3 euros round trip to take us to the beach. The first beach has restaurants and sunbeds, while the second beach is unspoiled but very beautiful and natural, in my opinion, worth prioritizing.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place, idyllic.
Positive experience: Quiet beach to spend the day. The bus down is comfortable and practical.
Fantastic experience: LUXURY, FROM LAND, FROM THE SEA, OR UNDER THE SEA SPECTACULAR♥
Fantastic experience: Access is only for authorized vehicles, which for just €3 will take you and bring you back. Excellent service!
Fantastic experience: Very nice beach, there is a shuttle from the parking for €3, beach with a beach bar.
Fantastic experience: Maravilloso lugar naturista (he visto solo 2 o 3) con 2 chiringuitos y hamacas.
Fantastic experience: Magical place
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach with good restaurants, everyone can be how they want, with or without. We'll definitely come back.
Fantastic experience: Naturist beach N° 1 in Spain
Fantastic experience: A wonder. I'm about to give it one star so that not many people go... Calm, quiet, clean...
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, with good restaurants.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, split into two parts, made of stone, but with facilities and two good restaurants.
Fantastic experience: I loved this beach, a spectacular beach bar with very good service, I loved its surroundings and its people
Positive experience: The beach itself is not bad, it's nice. The water is super clear and clean, and the beach bars that are there are quite good. That said, I wouldn't recommend going if you are not aware that it is a nudist beach.
Fantastic experience: Family beach 100% nudist, although there are younger boys and girls apart from families of foreign retirees, very crowded with crystal clear waters. When I was there, past the rock, everyone was naked, and the people entering from the other beach immediately left frightened by so many naked people. In my Erasmus group of friends, an Italian guy decided not to take off his swimsuit, and a gentleman approached him to remind him that the beach is naturist. The good thing is that the gentleman told him he could stay dressed if he wanted to, but I think my friend felt embarrassed when it was mentioned and took it off. Truthfully, on the left side of the rock facing the sea, it feels more embarrassing to stay undressed. I find it normal that the naturists of the place are bothered and explain it kindly to those who do not want to understand. The truth is that the reason why people in swimsuits lay on a nudist beach without taking off their swimwear is obvious, especially having another beach with dressed people next to it; we all know that.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful natural place.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach! A lovely place...
Fantastic experience: A beautiful cove with a special charm, whether clothing-free or not.
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach mainly for naturists. Crystal clear water and great for snorkelling. Off the beaten track. Loads of local Spanish people which is always a good sign that both of the restaurants are decent.
Fantastic experience: The beach is great, especially the nude beach to the left of the big rock. The access is tough, 20% incline and more!!! Good, gripping concrete road, but you have to go back up too. Campers are only tolerated and sometimes cleared out, but there are 2 beach bars down there, so drinks are taken care of.
Positive experience: Simply beautiful here
Fantastic experience: What a fantastic place in Spain! I visited the place for 2 full weeks in February. Definitely worth repeating.
Positive experience: Great. Although we weren't there, I have known it for a long time.
Fantastic experience: I loved snorkeling at this beach. As for it being a naturist beach, I don't mind, but I don't think I'm doing anything wrong by wearing a swimsuit. Indecent acts occur.
Fantastic experience: A sublime place to stop after a short hike or just for lunch
Fantastic experience: Very good professionals, very good service, and the best quality! Highly recommended. Thanks to the waiter David for his good treatment and kindness.
Fantastic experience: It is a true pleasure to enjoy a virgin beach in such a special location. The beach is nudist, and there is no conflict between nudists and textiles. The overall atmosphere is very harmonious and relaxed. From 15/06 to 15/09, car access is prohibited, and there is a bus service to go down and up. Normally, the people who frequent it are environmentally conscious and usually do not leave trash. Although it is a small beach, it has two beach bars. I love Cantarriján!!!
Fantastic experience: A very beautiful place with many hiking opportunities around and a very beautiful beach. Feel free to follow us for more travel experiences on Instagram: familiekall
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach located in a bay. Indicated as naturist but absolutely not a must. Friendly atmosphere. Two small restaurants, rental of sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a steep descent to get there. A must-visit.
Fantastic experience: At some point since I posted an original review in 2022 it was removed, so I am posting an update. Cantarrijan is a lovely beach for naturists, split in two halves, with a couple of bars and helpful beachside service. A sun trap. Very hot in the summer, but breezy too. The water is exceptionally clear and you will often swim with fishes - but beware the man o' war which occasionally intrude. I love this beach, although it can get extremely busy at weekends and in the summer months.
Fantastic experience: We were there with some friends, we ate at the restaurant, and it was very good, beautiful place
Fantastic experience: Charming staff.
Fantastic experience: Stunning location with great restaurant, beware does have nude bathers too. The restaurant had some stunning food at great prices.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful naturist beach
Fantastic experience: Always nice to relax. You can change clothes calmly because it's a nudist beach. So don't be shocked by any occasional clothing nonchalance. Pebble beach, so be careful when walking. Clear water.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular nudist beach with crystal clear water, very calm.
Fantastic experience: Fav place. Clear water (no sand), nice vibe/crowd, can be naked or bikini: your choice
Positive experience: Rocky beach and quiet where you can be however you want
Fantastic experience: A beautiful place. Stony beach, the sea in a whole range of colors, and two little restaurants - inexpensive and tasty.
Positive experience: Beautiful gravel beach with clear waters, very good for snorkeling with many fish around us. Restaurant on the beach, large parking.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful places and beautiful views :)
Positive experience: Had looked into this beach when we planned our honeymoon in 2020, but alas, we didn't make it to Spain that year. Fast forward to this past May, and we were driving from Marbella to Granada when I happened to notice that I had circled it on my map and we were going past it. We found our way down to the beach and it was really nice! Overcast but warm...we didn't have towels and the beach stand wasn't open yet, but I stripped and went for a swim in the clear and just-slightly-warmer-than-SoCal water (dried off with my clothes...the wife isn't shy, but didn't want to get wet and we didn't have more time). Glorious. The main cove, with restaurants (not open when we were there so no reviews) seemed more family friendly, topless, etc., but the next cove over was full nude. As noted by someone else, the minimal wave action and smooth gravel makes for a very soothing and relaxing sound. Only regret is that we didn't figure out earlier that we would pass by it and were not prepared to spend more time there.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place
Fantastic experience: The best Cristina from La Barraca
Fantastic experience: My refuge. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: There is a girl named Susi, she does spectacular Ayurveda and chiropractic massages. She sits next to the tree on the right side of the beach, on the side. Ayurvedic massage spectacular! The place is next to the tree. Cheap and magic hands!
Fantastic experience: It is certainly one of the most authentic places in Granada. Nudist beach, crowded with textile people who for some reason come to a naturist beach. It has two restaurants and fortunately, the summer months do not allow car entry, offering a paid transfer for those who want to visit this very special place.
Negative experience: The condition of the parking lot is extremely dirty. It's pure dust and being natural doesn't imply dirtiness. In fact, there are two restaurants, which are not 'natural'. They required construction. Another point is the lack of regulations for using the beach. It's supposed to be a nudist beach and there are almost as many nudists as there are textiled people. Honestly, it's incomprehensible. If you're going to a nudist beach, you need to be consistent and doing the opposite requires regulations to prevent it.
Fantastic experience: How beautiful is all that environment, I love it. It is very well kept and it is a beach where the people who go are calm. The water is crystal clear and there is an incredible amount of fish.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with a lot of charm. It's rocky, but it has wonderful clear water. Perfect for snorkeling. It's a shame that people do not take care of the surroundings. The parking areas and around the beach are very dirty, full of waste and trash. Becoming aware and being a bit more civilized would help make for a more pleasant stay.
Fantastic experience: Located in a spectacular environment, large parking.
Negative experience: The crystal clear water, the cove is beautiful. The bus service is ideal since the walk is tough. However, our experience was disappointing as it was not really a natural spot and it was a completely overcrowded day.
Fantastic experience: The stone beach at the far end is a mineralogist’s dream and the sound they make when the water recedes is the chimes of heaven.
Fantastic experience: I love it
Positive experience: Nice place to have lunch. The paella could have had a bit more seafood.
Fantastic experience: One of the nicer beaches in the area. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly popular, so it gets quite crowded during the season. Two bars with delicious food are available right by the beach.
Fantastic experience: The best nudist beach
Positive experience: Nice road access to beach.
Positive experience: Naturist beach on the Granada coast. Very nice from Monday to Friday, a very beautiful place.
Positive experience: A beautiful beach to spend the day. There are two parts, one nudist and one non-nudist. A couple of restaurants on the beach to choose from and eat well. Recommended.
Fantastic experience: If you want to take a bath as you came into the world, this is a good place... There are two areas, one mixed textile and naturist, and another completely naturist... You choose.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and quiet place. Crystal clear waters and untouched beach.
