La Espasa Beach
Information

Fantastic experience: Wide beach, with sand. Good parking, restrooms, and showers. Very nice views of the Sueve.
Fantastic experience: Good beach, also very large and all sand. One of the best in the area. There is a beach bar nearby, restrooms, and a large paid parking (4€)... it's worth it if you are going to spend the day or a few hours.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended. Good parking available. There are areas with grass and others with fine sandy beach. A very cool rocky area for taking photographs and seeing crustaceans. Several great beach bars. It's a very, very large beach with very fun waves. Totally recommended.
Fantastic experience: Very accessible, with services and a very nice path for walks. Great place to learn to surf.
Fantastic experience: A huge beach, very quiet, with green areas and parks, all very natural. A parking for 4€ and cafes, ice cream shops nearby. One of the best I have visited.

Fantastic experience: This beach is quite a spectacle: if you like walking on sand, you have kilometers to stroll on it; if you prefer not to get dirty, you can lay your towel on the grassy areas right next to the sand. If you prefer to swim in fresh water, there’s a river that flows right there. There are plenty of beach bars and restaurants to eat or grab a snack, and of course, it also has showers, sinks, and public restrooms. A delight of a beach.
Positive experience: There are too many rocks and you can't go deep until the afternoon. But there's a really beautiful promenade. The beach is nice.

Positive experience: Ideal beach for kids to start getting to know the bar a bit more lively. The beach bars are some of the best in Asturias. Parking is expensive.
Fantastic experience: Beach with parking very close, just a 2-minute walk away. (€4 all day) It is spacious with plenty of room to walk. Perfect waves for surfing. The water is ideal for swimming. Beach bar just a few meters away.

Fantastic experience: Very spacious and not too crowded, the only downside is that the lifeguards prioritize surfing and end up restricting swimming to about 40% of the beach.
Fantastic experience: The beach is a wonder. But today I wanted to highlight the work of the lifeguards. There are jellyfish in the area and the rescue service has informed bathers perfectly, with professionalism and courtesy.
Positive experience: A spacious and well-kept beach that allows you to enjoy the sun (when it's available) and the incomparable contrast of the sea, the beach, and its green neighbor, the mountain, where, a few meters from the bathers, calm cows and horses graze. Good services from both lifeguards and restrooms. The access in the river area, with various beach bars and restaurants, or at the height of Rste. Fitomar or the more eye-catching one, at the other end of the first one, at the Playa Madre beach bar, allows you to choose the type of activity you are looking for. In the latter, the sunset is excellent, with music and drinks to enjoy a great view. The downside in any of them (except Playa Madre) is paying €4 or €5 to park, if you are going for the whole day pass, but for just a couple or three hours, it seems excessive, but not to the owners of the plots.
Positive experience: Espasa Beach, in La Espasa (Caravia Baxa), at the mouth of the Carrandi or Espasa River, which serves as the boundary between the municipalities of Colunga and Caravia (Asturias). At low tide, it connects with the Barrigón Beach, which leads to the Isla Beach. It is 1200 meters long and about 60 meters wide. Fine, golden sand. Windy and with waves. Surf school. Parking, showers, restrooms, dining facilities, and lifeguard available in season.
Positive experience: Very nice beach, clean water and sand, lifeguards, green areas, showers. I've been coming here for years and it really is wonderful. A few years ago, they introduced paid parking starting at €2 in 2019, then it was €3, and this year €4... just to park on a lot.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach with all the services you could ask for… we went when it was cloudy but warm… perfect for us

Fantastic experience: I had never been there and it was a great surprise.
Fantastic experience: Home
Fantastic experience: Super beautiful
Fantastic experience: Analogue: Fomapan400
Fantastic experience: Very crowded. Paid. It's family-friendly but impossible to park without paying.
Positive experience: They charged us 4 euros for parking. A price I haven't seen at any other beach in Asturias. Very excessive. The beach is beautiful.

Fantastic experience: Large and family-friendly beach
Positive experience: It’s very nice, it’s calm in the morning, but in the afternoon it’s quite different, highly recommended. Another detail I didn’t like is that they charge for parking and being on the beach; it’s €4 until 19:00, you can stay all day. But there are other beaches that are free, and I usually go there when I visit.
Fantastic experience: Family beach with beach bars, monitored parking, a promenade, and grass to sit on. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Everything that people say is true. The beach is great (better at low tide). The parking situation is a bit complicated during peak hours, in summer, of course.
Positive experience: There are too many rocks and you can't go deep until the afternoon. But there's a really beautiful promenade. The beach is nice.
Positive experience: Espasa Beach, in La Espasa (Caravia Baxa), at the mouth of the Carrandi or Espasa River, which serves as the boundary between the municipalities of Colunga and Caravia (Asturias). Fantastic experience: Very nice place to walk
Positive experience: Beautiful beach with good facilities.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach and at this time perfect to go with dogs. I will definitely come back.
Fantastic experience: Caves at low tide
Fantastic experience: I loved it
Fantastic experience: Beautiful
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, ocean in front and mountain behind
Fantastic experience: Very large, easy access but difficult parking
Fantastic experience: Spectacular natural space. With all the services. A wonder of the surroundings.
Fantastic experience: Incredible. Beautiful vegetation and cliffs. It's a pleasant walk. Recommended.
Positive experience: Very nice beach, clean water and sand, lifeguards, green areas, showers. I've been coming here for years and it really is wonderful. A few years ago, they introduced paid parking starting at €2 in 2019, then it was €3, and this year €4... just to park on a lot.
Fantastic experience: We had a great day in a very nice atmosphere. The beach was quite clean.
Fantastic experience: Huge sandbank at low tide, at high tide two beaches are formed separated by a peak of rocks: La Espasa itself and Viso to the east. Very beautiful beach where the river that gives it its name flows into, with showers, a beach bar, and a restaurant. Parking and easy access.
Fantastic experience: Unique place. Perfect beach for walking, playing paddleball, reading... there are areas with seaweed and others where it's more feasible to swim. There is a very stylish beach bar nearby.
Fantastic experience: One of the best (most complete) beaches in Asturias. Sand area, grass area, river nearby, incredible views. Plenty of parking, paying 3 euros or walking a bit for free. Great.
Fantastic experience: Large beach with all services. Parking costs 3 euros per day. There are tables available for eating.
Fantastic experience: Quiet beach, good water and also for doing various sports like surfing
Fantastic experience: Very wide and beautiful. On the left is La Isla beach, which is also very nice.
