Information

Platja Mascarat is a charming beach located along the Costa Blanca in Spain, known for its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere. Here are some insights from visitors:

  • Environment: A picturesque beach with clear turquoise waters and beautiful surroundings, ideal for a peaceful day out.
  • Activities: Great for snorkeling and enjoying the natural beauty, though be prepared for rocky terrain rather than sand.
  • Facilities: The beach features two beach bars for refreshments, but it can get quite crowded.
  • Access: Easy access by car, although parking can be challenging during peak times.
  • Recommendation: Arrive early to secure parking and bring water shoes for comfort.

While the beach is praised for its beauty and amenities, some visitors noted the presence of large stones and limited sandy areas. Most enjoyed the peaceful vibe but were concerned about the potential for overcrowding, especially on weekends.

Positive experience: Nice and quiet beach. Beware! No sand, only stones and pebbles. Water shoes are handy for the little ones. The beach was clean with a small bar. Many families and couples were paddleboarding on the water and snorkeling. The water was clean and clear. You can snorkel nicely there. However, we didn't see many fish or other sea creatures that day. We visited on a weekday morning (09:00-09:30) and it started to get a bit busier. Parking is fine if you arrive early, after that it's difficult to park as you have to park along the road and those spots are limited. Tip: come around 09:00 and you'll usually find a spot.

Positive experience: The beach is nice, you can park if you don't arrive very late, the only downside is that it is completely rocky both outside and inside the water, you need water shoes 100%.

Positive experience: Somewhat dirty, probably due to the number of small boats docked behind the buoys. It is stony and has no sand at all. There is parking for cars.

Fantastic experience: A pleasant surprise, gravel beach, with a beach bar by the shore and another one a little higher up, dogs are not allowed, it's a very cozy cove.

Negative experience: So, there's no talk of a sandy beach. There are very large stones, around 10 to 20 cm in size. Lying down is impossible. I also don't find 13 euros for a sunbed and umbrella to be cheap. You can hardly enter the sea because you can barely walk on the slippery stones. So, this is not my beach.

Socorrista , chiringuitos ..

Fernando Patacona 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach. The day wasn't very good as the sea was a bit choppy and it was cloudy. Paddle surfing was difficult and there wasn't much visibility for snorkeling. We took the opportunity to remove plastics and cups from the water and sand. Please don't litter on the beach and pick up everything you see. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I love this beach, it's soo clean and lovely. This is a beach for everyone. There is one part for naturists and one half for people who are not natuists. I love it. There is also clean toilets and a cosy beach bar that plays nice music. It's amazing. I recommand too bring bathing shoes, because it hurts a little bit barefot because of rocks/stons. Diving mask and snorkel is a nice thing to bring, as it is a rich wildlife underwater. I have found three octopuses and fish in all the colors of the world on my visits. The underwater life itself is a heavenly experience.

It is a stony beach. There is a beach bar that also gets packed, so it was impossible to even have a drink sitting in the shade. The best thing is definitely the easy access.

This charming corner of paradise is known for its stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and its luxurious residences. Fantastic experience: Nature continues to give us gifts... this time it's a beach with turquoise waters!! With a beach bar to have whatever you like, restrooms, and a large parking area for a spot that is very difficult to park in the rest of the coves in the area. The stones are large but with water shoes, which is more of a statement than advice ;), the swimming is very pleasant, the photos from this day show the water a bit choppy, but there are days when it looks like a pool, and indeed... a dreamy pool because of the color of its waters.

Fantastic experience: A pleasant surprise, gravel beach, with a beach bar by the shore and another one a little higher up, dogs are not allowed, it's a very cozy cove.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place, in summer I imagine it will be very crowded, but out of season it's a very nice place and you can walk to the Barranco del Mascarat.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach for reading, disconnecting, or doing some water sports as the water is crystal clear. It's a shame about the tourist overcrowding; those of us who are from the area have no choice but to go when there is no tourism to be able to enjoy it.

Negative experience: It's very discriminatory that they put up a high fence. Only hippies with their vans can pass, and we in motorhomes can no longer get through. It was impossible to enjoy one of my favorite beaches. It's disappointing that they limit my entry.

Fantastic experience: I am saddened by the comment that highlights ~ the whole burnt environment ~ a misfortune, unfortunately caused by man, and reading it only strengthens the lack of empathy towards others, since this kind of comment does not help people who love nature and care little about cars, whether posh or not, drinking whatever they want, and so on. Anyway... Fortunately, nature is pure life and it regenerates. Beautiful place, during sunsets and sunrises. With some stunning full moon nights✨

Positive experience: Stony, nice beach near the port.

Negative experience: Beautiful, secluded, and solitary at this time of year. The beach is full of seaweed and dirt, and cobbled to the point of exasperation, suitable for weak ankles. In the 'marina', many posh people drinking beer and shouting. Big cars and the whole environment burned out.

Positive experience: A very nice cove. Moreover, it is where the trail to the Mascarat strait begins. The trail is a minefield with dog poop.

Positive experience: Pebbly coastline, just in the middle of October it's cold here, more than in other places. I didn't see any fish.

Fantastic experience: I love this pebble beach. The water is very clear and you can go as you want, meaning in a swimsuit or fully nude (the naturists are mostly to the right). A little corner of paradise and freedom... There is a nice little bar/restaurant a bit set back that unfortunately closes (already) in mid-October.

Fantastic experience: Excellent views, very quiet place. The coves are incredible, a bit difficult to access, but worth it.

Positive experience: The beach is great, we did not find many people since we arrived after lunch when everyone had left. The beach bar is wonderful, I ordered the 'tinto de verano' and it was very good. Just keep in mind that the bathrooms are locked for customer use. If you go in a van and plan to stay overnight, the waitress told us that sometimes the police stopped by there in the early morning to issue fines since it is not allowed. We left to avoid it.

Fantastic experience: Stone beach with gravel parking from which we can also access the Mascarat Canyon trail. The beach has two beach bars and provides sunbeds, restrooms, and a lifeguard during the high and medium/high season.

Positive experience: Not too crowded small beach between 18 - 20h. There’s a restaurant and a small shop, which is very comfortable.

Positive experience: Nice cove with nice views. Pebble beach On this day the waves made snorkelling impossible. You don’t find that much shade in this area so bring your own umbrella if you want to come

Positive experience: Free public, rocky beach in a lagoon. Chill atmosphere. Recommend bringing goggles for snorkeling. Water shallow enough for children. There's a restaurant as well. No public facilities.

Positive experience: This is a good beach to be naked on. Not that meany naturist about but we didn't care. The down side is their are loads of big pubbles in and out the sea. But it's not a bad size beach for the area of Altea

Fantastic experience: Lush hidden gem! Trust the sat nav and is tucked away, our fave beach and we stayed up the road in Calp. Clear water, can hire snorkels nearby at Infinity Sea and beach bar laid back and friendly. Just be aware nudist fave too but keep to one end (for their all over tan lol)!
