Ginesta Cove
Information
Cala Ginesta is a charming little cove located a few kilometers from Castelldefels and about 20 minutes from Barcelona. This small, picturesque beach is often recommended for its clean environment and clear waters. Many visitors appreciate the beach's accessibility and the amenities such as lifeguard services, restrooms, and a very nice beach bar called Punta Roca.
Some highlights include:
- Clean and beautiful beach ideal for family outings
- Stunning sunsets, particularly lovely in the winter months
- A relaxing atmosphere, especially recommended for early visits to avoid crowds
However, there are several drawbacks noted by visitors:
- The beach can become overly crowded, especially in summer
- High parking fees often deter visitors
- The beach bar occupies a substantial portion of the cove, impacting the available space
- Some complaints about cleanliness and increased presence of jellyfish in the water
Overall, Cala Ginesta is a sweet getaway with its natural beauty, although visitors should be prepared for crowds and high costs during peak times.

Fantastic experience: Access through a port, a small and cozy beach. Very nice atmosphere
Fantastic experience: A small and very cozy cove just a few kilometers from Castelldefels and about 20 minutes from Barcelona. The beach is clean, the water is clear, although like almost all beaches, there are quite a few jellyfish. There is a lifeguard service and restrooms, there is a beach bar that is really great, and foot showers at the entrance of the beach. I usually visit the cove in winter because the sunsets are spectacular, but in summer it's great for spending a beach day with family or friends. If you don't know the surroundings, it's best to park in the parking lot at the same port, although the price may be a bit high.

Fantastic experience: Spectacular cove, ideal for going with children. Dogs are not allowed.

Positive experience: Picturesque corner. Water always clean, calm, suitable for those who love to swim and for those who are not great swimmers. Very fine sand and, for those who wish, a very nice beach bar.
Fantastic experience: A secluded cove with very fine sand and very little slope. It has a modern beach bar and public facilities.
Positive experience: Beautiful cove with fine sand, it has sunbed service and a really cool beach bar, although somewhat expensive. It's at the end of the parking lot of Port Ginesta, by the way, the parking is super expensive.
Fantastic experience: A beach with very well-maintained sand, with restaurants 100 meters away, fine sand for swimming in the summer season (with a beach bar in summer) and gentle waves for surfing starting in October.

Fantastic experience: I discovered this place for the first time because we went to eat at PUNTO Roca., a lovely beach bar almost by the sea, with a very good atmosphere and delicious food!
Fantastic experience: It's really great, and they put in a new beach bar that is honestly very, very good. We recommend it 100%.

Fantastic experience: Platja tranquila i neta.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful and tranquil cove in the harbor. An unforgettable little corner!

Fantastic experience: I like it very much
Positive experience: Very welcoming cove. Too many people.
Fantastic experience: Excellent beaches, dazzling sun, and everything very beautiful. I recommend going to the last beach; it's like a swimming pool.

Positive experience: The Punta Roca restaurant is great. Too many people on this beach. The train passage is a pity.
Positive experience: Nice place. The beach bar is too big for such a small cove.
Positive experience: The view is very nice, and there weren't too many people. I recommend going around 6 PM on these hot days, as the sun and heat feel a bit strong.
Fantastic experience: Very well... Except for the fact that it was a warm summer day and there were some jellyfish like in so many other beaches... It’s important to be aware of our part of the responsibility... If there are more and more jellyfish, it’s because we are doing something wrong...
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful, it even seems private, we loved the beach bar, we ate there and we loved it, especially the steak and the service from Yasmani, very friendly and helpful... We will definitely return.
Fantastic experience: Simply spectacular!!!!
Negative experience: Horrible. Not suitable for children due to the smell of weed. A typical beach bar full of drunks and they won't even make you a simple sandwich.
Positive experience: Quiet cove, you have to go early to get a spot. Parking is excessively expensive.
Fantastic experience: Very clean beach for swimming and sunbathing, very quiet.
Positive experience: Great. You have to get there early because it fills up quickly. The beach bar also gets full and you have to make a reservation.
Positive experience: Very neglected sea, there's all sorts of debris in the water, maintenance is lacking
Fantastic experience: Muy buena
Fantastic experience: Playita y súper chill playa
Positive experience: Me lo he encantado. Y el chiringuito muy acogedor .
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and tranquil place.
Positive experience: A very nice place
Fantastic experience: The cove is cool, the only thing is that I paid 28 euros for parking!!
Fantastic experience: A beautiful cove, but you have to park at the port and the price is quite high.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove of Castelldefels, a shame about the beach bar they have set up because it has taken away a large part of the beach.
Fantastic experience: Truly amazing!!! Very good offer without being an extensive menu. First-class product and fast, efficient service. Exclusive beach bar, they offer something different from the others. Incredible location. It was Wednesday night and there were a lot of people. If I have to mention a downside, being inside Port Ginesta you have to pay for parking, but this makes it even more exclusive. We will definitely return. The red tuna carpaccio is unbeatable.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular cove, ideal for going with children. Dogs are not allowed.
Positive experience: Beautiful cove. Small and very cozy.
Fantastic experience: It is very nice here, we ate at the cove restaurant and the food was excellent.
Fantastic experience: Paradisiacal place, quiet and with a beach bar, there are restaurants 200 meters away. You have everything.
Fantastic experience: A charming place, secluded, clean to enjoy nature
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beach, a 10-minute walk from the bus. Over 100 meters into the sea, it's shallow up to the waist. Great place for fun.
Negative experience: There is a beach bar called Punta Roca, if you go don’t order bravas because for four bad frozen potatoes they charge you 9 euros, at least they should be natural for that price.
Positive experience: Beautiful cove at Port Ginesta, a place to spend a good time and enjoy the sea.
Fantastic experience: A quiet and very beautiful place.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove very close to Castelldefels. A bit difficult to access.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place. Cozy.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful) kind people around)
Fantastic experience: At this time of year, it is a quite peaceful place. I arrived by bike and there is a safe place to park it. Very clean.
Fantastic experience: Very nice
Positive experience: Very quiet
Fantastic experience: Small cove located in Port Ginesta, a place to be peaceful, think or meditate.
Fantastic experience: Amazing beach near Castelldefells. Very busy at the weekends. Best to go in the week if you can.
Fantastic experience: It's a beautiful cove in a wonderful harbor with a fantastic aura.
Fantastic experience: A magical corner of the Castelldefels coast.
Positive experience: Quiet piece of beach, pleasant environment. There is a beach bar that will probably be taken down in winter.
Fantastic experience: A beach with very well-maintained sand, with restaurants 100 meters away, fine sand for swimming in the summer season (with a beach bar in summer) and gentle waves for surfing starting in October.
Positive experience: This place is kinda new, hard to find it’s a little hidden gem at the end of the beach. You can see acceptable sunsets for the east coast. Food is surprisingly good and service acceptable. The biggest drawback is the overly inflated prices, which in some way mirror the rest of the more centric 'chiringuitos'. It’s not bad but be prepared to spend.
Fantastic experience: Great for relaxing.
Fantastic experience: Very quiet and welcoming cove
Fantastic experience: Very quiet place
Positive experience: The place itself is fine, but you have to pay for parking and the beach bar takes up almost a quarter of the cove. It seemed like a huge disproportion to me.
Positive experience: It's amazing, a very beautiful cove, it has the blue flag for being a very good beach, you will feel like you're in the Caribbean because of the water, the bad thing is that the sand gets everywhere but it's very pretty.
Fantastic experience: It is a very quiet cove. Ideal for watching the sunset. It now has a beach bar. The parking is payable, so it is not usually overcrowded.
Positive experience: Very nice little beach at the end of port ginesta. Nice beach club restaurant with launge area. Unfortunately their is room to improve their drinks - frankly speaking....
Fantastic experience: I saw this marina when I drove past it by car, it looks very nice from the road
Fantastic experience: Lovely beach and the entrance in the water is really soft. A great beach for kids.
Positive experience: Less crowded during the week (obviously) but if you go on the weekend make sure you get there as early as possible. We just spent Sunday there, arrived about 09:20 left around 12:00 and it was getting really busy. No chiringuito this year, there are shower and toilet facilities at the beach and nearby restaurants for lunch, but book a table especially if you want to eat at Santos Marisqueria. Plenty of parking, although it is expensive. I think we paid close to €8 for just over three hours on Sunday. Very nice little beach, in a secluded cove, with boats and jetskis to watch for entertainment as they come in and out of the harbour.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful secret gem close to the port, where you can spend an afternoon enjoying the sun and the beach. There's a view to the tunnel where the train goes which makes it appealing to enjoy the view and take great photos. Beautiful view and nice spot to disconnect from the typical beaches.
Positive experience: Quieter in the winter but a wonderful walkway all the way to Gava with the sea on your right.
Positive experience: Great atmosphere, lots of families and people of all ages. However, as the sun sets behind Garraf very early (around 19:00) families start to leave, the chiringito closes and as there are no lights whatsoever it doesnt look wery safe when dark. Well not for a family with children.
Positive experience: Well protected if the wind is from the North. Good for kids as the beach slopes slowly
