Son Xoriguer Beach
Information
Platja de Son Xoriguer is a picturesque beach known for its clear, turquoise waters, ideal for snorkeling enthusiasts. Visitors have praised its beauty and tranquility, making it a great spot for relaxation. The beach is surrounded by a variety of restaurants and easily accessible parking.
However, many users have noted some downsides:
- Access to the water can be challenging due to numerous rocks.
- Recent storms have reduced the sandy areas, leaving more stony surfaces.
- During busy months, it may be overcrowded, making it less appealing for a serene experience.
Overall, while the stunning water and nearby amenities attract visitors, careful planning is advisable due to rocky entrances and changing beach conditions.

Positive experience: Not the kind of place I like... nature before it was concreted must have been beautiful... and access to the sea is rather difficult... a platform of rocks, you need shoes...
Fantastic experience: Family walk to this beach from Calen Bosch, the day after a pretty substantial offshore storm. A very small beach itself, with dramatic views and swimming restrictions at the time. Access to coastal footpaths towards the east. A small selection of restaurants and shops on the edge of the beach.
Negative experience: Fake beach: no access to the sea!
Fantastic experience: The beach is beautiful, but unfortunately all the sand was washed away after the storm. Still, I go swimming every morning before sunrise – it remains a magical place. About 200 meters to the right of the beach is a small sandy cove that is particularly idyllic.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, clear water. Recommended to bring aquatic shoes. There is parking and restaurants near the beach.

Positive experience: Beach with many stones... But the water is warm and clean. Easy parking and restaurants nearby.
Positive experience: Too many stones, they should fix it a bit.
Negative experience: There is no sand anymore! The beach is entirely made up of pebbles and the rocks are at the water's edge. It is therefore very complicated to swim there. It's a pity because three years ago it was a very pleasant beach. Additionally, the area is full of hotels. Several times a day, there are events with very loud sound systems and it is very unpleasant to stay on the beach. It's a shame because it was a nice place before, I won't come back.
Fantastic experience: Cove with little sand but crystal clear water.

Fantastic experience: We wanted to visit the most famous beaches but all the parking lots were full. We settled for this beach, which was anything but a compromise. Beautiful water and few people. I recommend wearing water shoes for the rocks because there is little sand. Still, a good alternative! There is also a beach with umbrellas, a supermarket, and places including a restaurant.
Positive experience: Cove in the center of hotels and commercial services. There is a equipped beach club and an adjacent bar restaurant. The sea is not spectacular due to the presence of foliage.

Positive experience: It is affected by the accumulation of algae. We will find them both on the sand closest to the water and in the water at least up to about 10 meters from the shore. In some areas, we can enjoy clear water. There is little space for towels and umbrellas, but there is a shower and a lifeguard station.
Positive experience: Platja accessible. Petita. Amb força roques. Aigües cristal.lines. Molt a prop del complex. Té socorrista.

Positive experience: good, turquoise water, white sand, snorkeling is not the place, too bad jellyfish..
Fantastic experience: Beautiful little cove, super pleasant, crystal clear water 400m from Cal N Bosch along the path. The most complicated part is finding a spot because there is little sand to place your towel, but it's a true paradise. Avoid arriving between 09:45 and 14:00 as you won't find a place to settle down unless it's on the rocks. Bring a mask and snorkel to observe the fish along the rocks.
Fantastic experience: Super beach to relax, swim, and snorkel.
Fantastic experience: The water is clear, and there is an abundance of marine life for snorkelers. 18e for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella. Relatively clean beach.
Fantastic experience: Great beach accessible from Cala Bosc on foot. Selection of restaurants and a couple of convenience stores. Nice Sandy beach with lots of fish to see when snorkelling.

Negative experience: Directly at the water and in the water, unfortunately, there is no sand left since 2023. Only in the back area of the cove is there still sand with sunbed rental (€18/day). The sand has probably been washed to the completely opposite side of the cove due to various storms. There is now a really small sandy beach there and also a sandy bottom in the water. We were also surprised to find the beach so stony after 2 years. Very sad.

Positive experience: Shallow sandy beach. Some rock formations on the beach. Less seaweed and debris washing up than the main Cala en Bosc beach. Good for snorkeling and SUP hire, also kayak hire.

A very small beach itself, with dramatic views and swimming restrictions at the time. Access to coastal footpaths towards the east. A small selection of restaurants and shops on the edge of the beach.
Negative experience: It's a huge pebble beach, extremely dangerous for swimming and not beautiful at all.
Positive experience: Nice, small and pleasant. Easy to reach and suitable for everyone!
Negative experience: Fake beach: no access to the sea!
Positive experience: Very pleasant place, quiet, quick service. At the end of the season, a lot of desserts were missing, which is a pity.
Fantastic experience: The beach is beautiful, but unfortunately all the sand was washed away after the storm. Still, I go swimming every morning before sunrise – it remains a magical place. About 200 meters to the right of the beach is a small sandy cove that is particularly idyllic.

Positive experience: Beach with many stones... But the water is warm and clean. Easy parking and restaurants nearby.
Positive experience: Too many stones, they should fix it a bit.
Positive experience: Nice, beautiful, a bit crowded in season
Negative experience: The hammocks and umbrellas occupy all the space. An abusive use of public space.
Fantastic experience: A spectacular sea, an underrated cove that has nothing to envy from the other more renowned and famous ones. Attached is a photo from today (28/08/2024). Easily accessible by car with convenient street parking.
Negative experience: There is no sand anymore! The beach is entirely made up of pebbles and the rocks are at the water's edge. It is therefore very complicated to swim there. It's a pity because three years ago it was a very pleasant beach. Additionally, the area is full of hotels. Negative experience: No... very uncomfortable in every way... not crowded (rightly so)
Positive experience: A dreamy bay, especially for snorkeling fans. However, I miss trash cans and ashtrays, for those who have no idea what they are doing to the environment by just leaving their cigarette butts in the sand. Here, you can admire rare Balearic fish and sometimes even an octopus. Ever since I get to enjoy the underwater world almost daily, I prefer living creatures a thousand times more than dead ones on a plate. The juniper berries that named the bay can be found here in abundance. And the gin of the same name, in the supermarket.
Positive experience: A small very beautiful beach with rocks to access the water. Ideal for sunsets and sunrises. Very quiet.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach with crystal clear waters. It's an unknown beach but I found it very beautiful and it must be a must-visit. If you go with little ones, it's difficult to access and there is little space that is not rocks, be careful walking. Excellent parking.
Fantastic experience: Shame the sands all but gone.
Positive experience: Nice but this year there are pebbles appearing on the sandy beach.
Positive experience: Small, manageable beach with a few loungers. Fine for a day. Those who prefer a more natural setting should visit one of the smaller coves afterwards.
Positive experience: Quite a long beach but with few places to get into the water, it is mostly rocks. There are 2 'real' beaches, one made of pebbles, the other of sand. You can see small fish there. Be careful, you have to like being packed closely together during the month of August.
Positive experience: Beautiful but there are many rocks to enter.
Positive experience: Cove in the center of hotels and commercial services. There is a equipped beach club and an adjacent bar restaurant. The sea is not spectacular due to the presence of foliage.
Negative experience: This year there is hardly any sand and the platjals have disappeared.
Positive experience: good, turquoise water, white sand, snorkeling is not the place, too bad jellyfish..
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and very clean. I loved it, I will definitely come back.
Positive experience: Sand has been lost due to a storm, a lot of rocks but still, a quiet, welcoming beach and the water is super clear. Even with the rocks, I prefer it.
Positive experience: Very nice servers, very good service. Pizza was quite good.
Negative experience: Not a very beautiful beach. Move along.
Negative experience: Rocks, just rocks
Negative experience: Normally a beautiful beach. Due to a harsh winter/autumn, all the sand has washed away and it is full of rocks, stones, and algae. Hope it will be restored.
Fantastic experience: The area to the right of the equipped beach is beautiful (which unfortunately has a somewhat complicated entry into the water).
Fantastic experience: Paradiso, very well maintained, MAXIMUM RESPECT for Nature.
Positive experience: This year the southern coast is not lucky, the area is quite covered with seaweed. Few services, only umbrellas and sunbeds, but there is no functioning shower. The water, beyond the first patches of seaweed, is however beautiful. 18 euros per day for a sunbed and 2 loungers. Closes at 7:00 PM.
Negative experience: The first time I went was in 2022 and the beach was in good condition, there were no rocks on the sand and it was quite pleasant. The following year (2023) I noticed the presence of many rocks never seen before on this beach, which became the first sign that the beach was not receiving attention from the municipalities or the governors of Menorca. This year, I expected things to stay the same but the beach got much worse, mainly because in addition to having a huge amount of rocks between the sand and the entrance to the sea, more rocks appeared in the sea, they are slippery and occupy 100% of the space, they can cause serious accidents. Given that the signs from these 3 years suggest that things are getting worse, I do not recommend it to anyone regardless of age group.
Negative experience: Don't go.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place to be
Negative experience: Many stones on the beach, what a shame
Fantastic experience: Great little beach with some good restaurants nearby
Negative experience: No sand. Platxals little bath late without towel.
Positive experience: So rocky it's hard to get in and out the water. Once in it's lovely.
Positive experience: Good beach, but you need to go with sandals.
Positive experience: It's a small cove, it's nice, crystal clear water, but it's all stone, which makes it very difficult to access for swimming.
Positive experience: The beach is beautiful, but it's rocky until you reach the water.
Fantastic experience: This year has a lot of rocks. But it's a fantastic place!
Fantastic experience: Very quiet beach, with crystal clear water and easy access.
Fantastic experience: Really beautiful beach, quite rocky, so you'll need reef shoes. There is also quite a lot of seagrass, which is absolutely good and excellent for wildlife. But it's worth knowing, as kids can't play so easily in shallow waters. Better to go to Son Bou or another beach for that. It's still a fantastic beach!
Positive experience: It is affected by the accumulation of algae. We will find them both on the sand closest to the water and in the water at least up to about 10 meters from the shore. In some areas, we can enjoy clear water. There is little space for towels and umbrellas, but there is a shower and a lifeguard station.
Positive experience: Lovely beach, but there are two halves - one has sun loungers but an incredibly rocky/uneven access to the water. The other has a smooth sandy incline into the water but no loungers or facilities.
Negative experience: Unfortunately the reviews are correct. This beach is mostly rocks and it’s almost impossible to enter the water. I got about 1 metre from the shore with beach shoes on and couldn’t venture further. There are huge slippy boulders everywhere. Last year this beach was great. Unfortunately the authorities have left it after the winter storms and aren’t interested in the holidaymakers or the restaurants who are now suffering badly due to the downturn in visitors. Such a shame.
Positive experience: A lot of trash
Positive experience: Small beach
Positive experience: wd.f 8uyu tt yi7.fy.edf.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful when the wind comes from the North
Fantastic experience: The most beautiful beach in Menorca, left in its natural state and great snorkeling area.
Negative experience: This is NOT a beach. Only rocks, you cannot really swim
Positive experience: Beautiful sea but little beach to lie on.
Negative experience: I didn't like it very much because the shore was made of rocks and you couldn't go swimming, but there are some good restaurants nearby.
Positive experience: Beach with imported sand, otherwise there are stones, making it impossible to plant the umbrella. Access to the water is very restricted, so plan on wearing water shoes. Otherwise, there are restaurants and cafes along the edge that add a lot of charm to the place.
Positive experience: Very nice beach, too bad that due to the storms of this period, it has filled up with posidonia. It's recommended to enter the water with rock shoes.
Negative experience: June 2024. No more sandy beach but a patch of stones and 'wrack'. Impossible for children and people with reduced mobility to bathe. Maybe a future private beach? There are already paid sun loungers on the little sand (uncleaned) that remains. Avoid this 'tourist trap'. A 'beach' like that really shows a lack of respect for tourists.
Negative experience: Big disappointment, the sand has washed away and the beautiful beach has turned into just a rocky surface that is impossible to walk on. The travel agency still claims it's a sandy beach, so you won't be unpleasantly surprised.
Negative experience: Currently, there is no sand. The beach and access to the water are full of stones of various sizes. Not suitable for small children. It used to be a sandy beach.
Fantastic experience: It's a nice place
Positive experience: Great lunch
Fantastic experience: Crystal clear waters and white sand, small cliffs around the cove. Easy access
Negative experience: It is not worth anything, it is all full of rocks, nothing like the photos that people post.
Positive experience: Beautiful but rocky beach, only a small access to enter the sea.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach on the quieter side, rocky areas and sandy areas. Renting sunbeds costs 18 euros, but you can always bring a beach towel, as there are some sandy spots further down to lie on.
Negative experience: No interest. Pebble beach and overrun with seaweed.
Fantastic experience: Great beach, restaurants and supermarket available next to the beach. Also, the route along the promenade is very accessible for strollers.
Negative experience: This year is not to my liking due to the lack of sand
Fantastic experience: Super beach to relax, swim, and snorkel.
Negative experience: I didn't like it at all, used to visiting spectacular coves like Escorxada, Pregonda, etc. People sticking to you with their towels. I won't be coming back to this beach.
Positive experience: Nice beach, hardly anyone when I was there at the end of April, so very quiet.
Fantastic experience: Urban beach with a beach bar at the beginning, it's all stone except for the final stretch of sand. If you find a little spot, it's great. Crystal clear waters and white sand.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach, but be careful, 2 sunbeds cost €18. Don't bother, you can leave a towel. A bit steep if you want to go into the sea. Also quite rocky. But the sand is lovely for sitting.
Positive experience: It looks all like a gravel pit, there is hardly any sand.
Fantastic experience: Small beach, but a good path for running.
Negative experience: No sand; covered in stones.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, wonderful water
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and easily accessible by car. Local shops and supermarkets right there.
Fantastic experience: Very cool clear water
Fantastic experience: Amazing location for a beautiful walk about.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with all services available.
Fantastic experience: A beautiful little bathing cove. Great for photos with rocks.
Fantastic experience: Small beach within immediate proximity of parking lots, restaurants, and a small market.
Fantastic experience: Impeccable hotel, human-sized, family-oriented. Staff very kind. Impeccable cleanliness. We had a very good vacation. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The water is clear, and there is an abundance of marine life for snorkelers. 18e for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella. Relatively clean beach.
Positive experience: Good beach. Sand. Lots of people.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach but not spectacular.
Fantastic experience: Small beach with all services, it has some stones in the sand. It is very nice, not to be confused with the beach of Cala'n Bosc.
Positive experience: Pleasant place for short stay. Two small beaches with limited number of sunbeds (€18 per day, 2 beds (no cushions) plus fixed parasol). Limited things to do. Good bus service to Ciutadella but can be very very busy at times.
