Cala d’Hort
Information
Cala d'Hort is a beautiful beach renowned for its stunning views of Es Vedra and its clear waters, making it a popular spot for swimming and snorkeling. Visitors appreciate the vibrant turquoise waters and the enchanting sunset views. The area offers several restaurants, including one known for its excellent paella. However, the beach primarily consists of pebbles and rocky areas, which can make access to the water challenging, especially for families with children. Many users suggest wearing water shoes due to the rocky entrance.
Despite its charm, Cala d'Hort can get crowded, particularly during the high season, leading to limited parking and a congested atmosphere. Some reviews criticize the beach for being overrated compared to other less well-known beaches with clearer waters and better sand. Visitors should arrive early to secure parking and enjoy the best experience. Overall, Cala d'Hort is an idyllic destination for those seeking breathtaking views and a unique beach experience.

Positive experience: Cala d’Hort is definitely worth a visit, especially for the stunning sunset views. Parking is free near the top of the cliff, where there’s more space available, though the road down to the beach is narrow and steep with very limited parking. From the top lot it’s about a 10-minute walk down, with a pedestrian path through lovely trees and bushes offering fantastic views across the sea. It’s worth spending some time at the top of the cliff before heading down, as the walks and scenery are truly beautiful. The beach itself is less impressive compared to the surroundings—it’s a mix of sand and pebbles, with some seaweed, and can feel very overcrowded (even in September). But with such an iconic setting and one of the best sunsets in Ibiza, the crowds are to be expected.
Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches around Ibiza . Like a dream. Be ready to look for parking.
Fantastic experience: Before you get to the beach I suggest you spend some time on the paths above that lead along the cliffs overlooking Es Vedra, the beach area and the whole bay. Wonderful colours, birdsong all around and the sound of waves below. And when we finally reached the beach after a few hours, the weather did not indicate a memorable sunset, and after all, that's what you come here for. This is one of the most interesting places to say goodbye to the day, so we waited and waited and that last hour was worth everything. You simply have to be here and see it. Fantastic atmosphere!
Fantastic experience: Beautiful view of Escull de Cala d’Hort, beach looked beautiful with some restaurants. Parking during the summer may be very limited.
Fantastic experience: This place is famous for its breathtaking view of the island of Es Vedrà, an imposing rocky monolith that rises from the sea, shrouded in myths and legends. The beach is medium-sized, with golden sand and some areas of pebbles. The sea is crystal clear and turquoise, perfect for swimming or snorkeling. The bottoms are sandy and slope gently, making Cala d'Hort suitable for families with children. The view of Es Vedrà is the real star: this rock formation, said to have magnetic and spiritual properties, offers a unique and spectacular panorama, especially at sunset. The beach offers sun loungers and umbrellas for rent, as well as showers and restrooms. There are also some great restaurants along the beach, such as El Carmen and Es Boldadó, where you can enjoy typical dishes of fresh fish and paella while taking in the view of Es Vedrà. Cala d'Hort is reachable by car, but the road leading to the beach is quite steep and narrow. There is parking near the beach, but during the high season, it can fill up quickly, so it's advisable to arrive early. We were unable to find parking even though it was September.

Positive experience: Well, compared to other beaches on the island, this one has the most uncomfortable sand, although the views with Es Vedra in front give it a special charm for those who visit it. However, I think there are better options for spending the day.
Positive experience: Many stones
Positive experience: We expected something different from this beach, there are many rocks both outside and inside.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful view of Escull de Cala d’Hort, beach looked beautiful with some restaurants. Parking during the summer may be very limited.
Positive experience: Very nice photo hotspot. The restaurants on site should be better reserved for larger groups.
Fantastic experience: If you want to see Es Vedra and go to the beach at the same time, perfect spot! Just be careful of parking if you are driving as it’s very busy! The restaurants are good as well.
Fantastic experience: Easily accessible cove with privileged views. Rocky beach and rocky area, once in the sea there's sand. In summer, the sunset is beautiful due to its colors, but you can't see the sun unless you go to the far right of the cove. Free parking, and there are several restaurants to have lunch and dinner. There are paid sunbed areas.
Positive experience: Beach with a beautiful view of Es Vedra. There is limited parking near the beach. However, there is more space above but you have to walk a steep way. There are almost no facilities. 1 restaurant which is pricey. The beach itself is small and is partly used by the hotel. The sea has a gentle slope and after a start of pebbles, there is a sandy bottom after 2 meters. The water is clear.

Negative experience: From an objective point of view, a completely overrated place. There are countless far more beautiful beaches than this one. The culinary offerings are nothing special either. If you really want to see Es Vedra up close from the land, okay for a quick stop. The view is definitely nicer from a boat.
Positive experience: It's a small and secluded cove, with incredible views and a backdrop of the islet of Es Vedrá. One downside I would mention is that it's very rocky and dangerous for children if you plan to bring them, as there's not much safety and there can be rock falls. There is hardly any parking; you have to leave your car on the street and road, that's what I could see, although there is a kind of flat area they use as parking, but it was closed off with large rocks to prevent access.
Fantastic experience: Muy bonito.
Poco oleaje. Con socorrista. Imprescindible.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach where you can watch the miraculous rock the born in the sea.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful view of Escull de Cala d’Hort, beach looked beautiful with some restaurants. Parking during the summer may be very limited.
Positive experience: Cala d’Hort: A Winter Sanctuary in Ibiza Cala d’Hort, with its breathtaking view of Es Vedrà, transforms in winter into a peaceful retreat, far from the summer crowds. The crisp sea breeze, quiet waves, and dramatic cliffs make it the perfect spot to sit, read, and soak in Ibiza’s raw beauty. Winter here means no distractions: just you, your book, and nature at its finest. The mild weather, serene atmosphere, and stunning views create the ultimate escape for reflection and relaxation. Cala d’Hort isn’t just a summer hotspot; it’s a year-round haven for the soul.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent decor, a must-see. Turquoise water and a view of the islands.

Fantastic experience: Snorkel egiteko kala ederra eta ilunabarra ikusteko txoko polita
Positive experience: Acqua cristallina, ok snorkeling parte sinistra.

Cala d’Hort: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Best place in the world..

Fantastic experience: One of the best place with the best view during the day and sunset as week in ibiza
Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches around Ibiza . Like a dream. Be ready to look for parking.
Fantastic experience: Good for chill and coffe
Fantastic experience: Before you get to the beach I suggest you spend some time on the paths above that lead along the cliffs overlooking Es Vedra, the beach area and the whole bay. Fantastic experience: Great

Positive experience: Well, compared to other beaches on the island, this one has the most uncomfortable sand, although the views with Es Vedra in front give it a special charm for those who visit it. However, I think there are better options for spending the day.
Fantastic experience: I love it
Positive experience: Many stones
Fantastic experience: Superb
Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach to see the sunset, one of the best.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent decor, a must-see. Turquoise water and a view of the islands.
Positive experience: Very small beach. Not the most beautiful in the area. It's true that the view of Es Vedra is beautiful, but it's better to be elevated than at sea level to appreciate it.
Fantastic experience: One regret, I should have gone there in the evening to enjoy the sunset...
Positive experience: We expected something different from this beach, there are many rocks both outside and inside.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful
Fantastic experience: Absolutely stunning. Reaching Atlantis was a fun journey and a bit of an adventure. It’s not too difficult but highly recommend good shoes for the hike down and back up or go barefoot to avoid slipping on loose rocks. Very relaxing once you are there - make sure you have enough water and enjoy the adventure.
Positive experience: I didn’t like it at all, and the water on the shore seemed to me to be unclean. The beach is rocky.
Fantastic experience: My favorite cove in Ibiza! It's magic. Es Vedra, those turquoise and transparent waters, eating the best paella at Carmen. 20 out of 10!
Positive experience: Pebble and sand beach. Beautiful panorama. Very steep access.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, although rocky.
Positive experience: The beach is too rocky and impractical... it was very complicated to enter the water because there were really too many rocks, although the scenery was very beautiful. I recommend bringing special shoes to enjoy a swim in peace.
Positive experience: There is no sand, only stone. The water is very clear but there are a lot of people.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove with crystal clear water and great views, wear water shoes. Everything else is very good.
Negative experience: From an objective point of view, a completely overrated place. There are countless far more beautiful beaches than this one. The culinary offerings are nothing special either. If you really want to see Es Vedra up close from the land, okay for a quick stop. The view is definitely nicer from a boat.
Fantastic experience: Essence
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove. It's not sandy, it's stony. It's easy to access and the view is gorgeous.
Positive experience: Parking is far away and uphill. Stone cove.
Positive experience: It is not one of the best beaches I have seen in terms of the water and the sand, which is actually scarce. The views are amazing with Es Vedrà in the background, but that's about it. And I am from the island (although I no longer live there). To park, you have to go very early, otherwise it's impossible (like in almost all the beaches during peak season).
Positive experience: Good beach
Fantastic experience: Noisy
Positive experience: Swimming is prohibited there.
Positive experience: Busy beach but beautiful view, good parking on a large lot before driving down the steep slope on the left.
Negative experience: Overrated! The beach is narrow and small and completely covered with posidonia. Clean sea, but there is better elsewhere in Ibiza.
Positive experience: Actually, a really beautiful cove. The view of Es Vedra is unique. Personally, I don't find the fact that part of it is a stony beach that bad. However, today, on July 15, 2024, a big problem was the numerous jellyfish in the water. This spoiled the enjoyment of swimming. Some even got stung.
Positive experience: Crowded, unusual only to later not find the beauty of other less-known coves...
Negative experience: Different from what I expected
Fantastic experience: Small cove in Ibiza with crystal clear waters. You need to go early because of the parking situation.
Fantastic experience: This beach is great for kids, I love it and it has amazing views of Es Vedrà! The water is super clear but this year it was full of jellyfish... What a shame
Positive experience: Incredible cove with many stones, it's small so there may be problems finding a space in high season. The restaurant is quite close, but keep in mind to book 1 or 2 days in advance, it also has rental sun loungers. The views are amazing from the parking lot, I recommend.
Fantastic experience: The best sunset on the island.
Positive experience: A small cove but with a beautiful view of Es Vedra that makes it magical! The entry to the sea has many stones. There is a beach bar to eat or drink. There are also two other nearby coves like Cala Carbo where there are restaurants with typical food and Cala Vadella. This allows you to visit all three in one day.
Fantastic experience: Very cute, beautiful beach, and a good restaurant nearby. Remember to make a reservation, but they serve continuously during the summer season.
Positive experience: Great view, but too crowded and dirty ️. The small beach disappoints with little sand and overcrowded parking lots. The Cala d'Hort beach in Ibiza offers a beautiful view of Es Vedrà, making it a popular destination. Unfortunately, the beach itself did not convince. The beach is very small and often crowded, which detracts from the experience. Furthermore, the beach area was quite dirty ️, which further tarnished the overall impression. There is very little sand, but many stones, making lying down and relaxing difficult ️. Parking options are also very limited, and the few parking spaces are mostly occupied. Overall, the beach is therefore rather overrated and did not meet our expectations.
Positive experience: Good views, small beach, quite crowded in summer.
Fantastic experience: Amazing, very beautiful
Positive experience: The beach itself is not one of the best, but it has the best views of Es Vedrá Island
Fantastic experience: It's fabulous but you have to park very far away and go down a huge slope.
Positive experience: Beautiful cove, but by no means the best cove in Ibiza. In fact, if you have little time, there are many other better coves to visit. It’s a somewhat rocky cove where it won't be easy to lie down with your towel or enter the water (I recommend wearing appropriate footwear for the water for those who are more delicate). You won't find the prettiest water in Ibiza either. Despite that, it has some nice views.
Positive experience: Not an exciting beach...too many rocks and seaweed...there are better ones.
Fantastic experience: Good place to view Es Vedra and nearby there are also some nice viewpoints to see Es Vedra from a higher point.
Fantastic experience: Great calm beach. With beautiful blue water. But at the entrance to the beach, there is a line of stones, but after that, it’s perfect.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful!
Positive experience: It barely passes, one of the worst beaches of Ibiza.
Fantastic experience: Superb and excellent resto
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, I am not surprised it is one of the favorites.
Fantastic experience: It is a small beach with stones and has a very nice view. A few meters away you can see Vendrá and also Cala Comte. There are also some caves that are close by with stairs.
Fantastic experience: It is a beautiful beach, although very small and with a lot of stones. The price for two sunbeds, with a mattress, and an umbrella was 30 euros in total.
Positive experience: Nice place to watch a sunset
Fantastic experience: Very nice place for a sunset. I positioned myself a little higher to see the beach below.
Positive experience: Nice place, it's worth seeing.
Fantastic experience: I loved it, very good sunsets
Fantastic experience: Charming!
Positive experience: Beach with nice scenery, but very stony. Difficult to park.
Fantastic experience: Movie-like cove, I loved it, you could be anywhere in the world...
Fantastic experience: Personally, I don't like a beach with a lot of stones. Large parking lot with several restaurants.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, crystal clear waters, perfect for a day at the beach with a partner, friends, or family, the best views of Es Vendrà.
Positive experience: Small cove with a lot of stones and pebbles. Very beautiful surroundings. It has two restaurants.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with crystal clear waters.
Fantastic experience: A very beautiful beach and a very welcoming place, and the food is excellent
Fantastic experience: A movie sunset, the cove is small but with views of Es Vedra. Definitely an idyllic place.
Positive experience: Ibiza has its own energy. I love it a lot. Like all beaches, if you don't arrive early, you'll obviously have difficulties finding parking. The view when you're coming down from afar is beautiful, exotic. However, the water doesn't have that stunning color. But there's a big rock in front... that I think is delightful to see! It's worth seeing everything haha. I'll easily come back haha.
Fantastic experience: Special place
Fantastic experience: We watched the sunset very peacefully. The truth is that we felt very comfortable.
Fantastic experience: Awesome Sunset
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful and peaceful in winter
Positive experience: The place is beautiful for watching the sunset, but be careful because there are thefts! At the top, before reaching the cove, there is a free parking area where people park to watch the sunset. It's a kind of cliff with views of Esvedra. They take advantage of the moment of the sunset, when people are distracted, to break car windows and take everything out of the vehicle. The police told us that they always do this, especially with rental cars.
Fantastic experience: Stunning Sunset: the place to be
Positive experience: Completely overcrowded beach, a mix of sand and stones. There are plenty of parking spaces available, although a bit far away. There are many nicer beaches on the island. A plus is the sunset.
Positive experience: Well, I don't want to judge the beach itself wrongly, but on the late October days when we were there, we saw a very rocky, dirty beach that was not at all suitable for staying or enjoying the sunset, cluttered with gastronomy, traffic chaos even though it was no longer the season, without reasonable parking spaces and partially meters-high piled seaweed with plastic waste, so we only got out briefly to then go to a beautiful viewpoint about 1km above the beach. The sunset there was very beautiful. However, I rated that separately with 5 stars. The beach, when cleaned, can certainly have its special charm, but when we were there, not at all.
Fantastic experience: If you want to see the most beautiful sunset at Es Vedra, Ibiza. Go there, it's amazing ❤️
Fantastic experience: The view from the plateau in front of the bay is great with a view of Es Vedres and plenty of parking. The beach itself is small, but worth a visit. However, it's better not to drive down, as the road is very steep, narrow, and there is little parking.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful cove, dreamlike
Fantastic experience: Beautiful small cove where you can see the sunset, with a restaurant that serves good rice dishes.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular with views of Es Vedra. In October, there was plenty of parking.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular views, a beach that combines rocks with sand. There is a beachfront restaurant that serves amazing paellas.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful small beach.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach
Negative experience: Jellyfish in abundance - therefore unfortunately not advisable to swim here.
