Amió Beach
Information
Playa De Amió is a stunning beach located in a hidden cove, ideal for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty. Here are some highlights and considerations:
- Beautiful Scenery: The beach offers spectacular views, with the ocean on either side and a unique islet that creates enchanting waves.
- Family-Friendly: It's a great spot for children to explore marine life like crabs and limpets.
- Clean and Well-Maintained: Users frequently mention the pristine sand and cleanliness of the area.
- Ideal Timing: Visiting during low tide is crucial as the beach diminishes significantly at high tide.
- Access Considerations: Be aware that the access path is steep and may pose challenges for guests with reduced mobility.
- Some Limitations: There are no lifeguards, and certain activities like music and ball games may be restricted.
Overall, Playa De Amió is a magical destination if you visit at the right time and appreciate a little adventure to reach it.

Fantastic experience: A truly beautiful beach, one of my favorites in Cantabria. You can feel the peace from all sides, and it's a pleasure to spend time there. Access is very easy, there is parking nearby, and the views are spectacular. What more can you ask for?
Fantastic experience: spectacular place, especially if you arrive at low tide (which reveals the sand tongue that connects the beach to the rocky islet in front) and you witness the rising tide that completely submerges the connection between the beach and the islet. Convenient parking and outdoor bar very close to the beach.
Fantastic experience: Very nice, large, and with plenty of parking. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: There is a parking lot and a beach bar next to it, you have to go down to the beach, it is not monitored and it is not big... be careful with the tide
Fantastic experience: A different beach, the islet causes the waves to divide and creates a tide against another. The access is good.

Negative experience: Beautiful.. actually spectacular.. But there are more prohibitions here than in Europe in 1940.. If you have dogs don't go, if you want to eat something on the beach, don't go, if you have a ball or rackets, leave them in the car, a bit of music on the beach? Forget it, You can't fish.. For floats, canoes, etc. do like you did with the ball or rackets.. Ah, if you are elderly or can't walk well, look at the photos on Google.. Thank you for the hospitality

Fantastic experience: Incredible beach. Fine sand, very few people, and spectacular views.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, peaceful, fine and very clean sand. Incredible views. There is a shower to rinse off the salt and sand afterwards.
Positive experience: A super beautiful beach that stands out from the ordinary, with both sandy and stony areas and a very interesting islet in the background. Gorgeous photos, but it's not the best place for swimming (may the man who died sacrificing himself to save a father and his children in this very spot rest in peace).
Negative experience: There are better ones, difficult access with a steep ramp. Many stones and no surveillance.

Fantastic experience: We really liked it!!!! Good sand, peaceful, and with beautiful water. There is parking nearby and you have to go down a slope to reach it. It has showers and a beach bar nearby.
Fantastic experience: It's a dream area... there are cows and green spaces behind the beach bar and the beach is a spectacle of the high tides, we fed the cows and enjoyed how two waves meet on the beach and make big crashes! Above the beach, there is a parking area where you can spend the night... it has been our best experience so far at this beach

Fantastic experience: The slope to go down and up is super quiet. It's worth it. The only thing is they don't have lifeguards.
Fantastic experience: Bonita y poco profunda.
Positive experience: Preciosa playa casi salvaje. Cuidémosla. Atención si te balas, no hay socorristas.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful clean beach, light undercurrent so not really swimming water, but great for dipping in the shallow.
Fantastic experience: Magnificent beach. Incredible view and relaxing quiet. Clear water. A must-see if you pass by.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, worth the detour

Positive experience: Nice beach when the tide is out, but when its in there is no beach. Looking at the shape of the bay and the rocks that lie under the surface, its a place to swim with caution. Looking at the temporary car parks that appear for August (3 euros), I would avoid the beach here in that month.

Fantastic experience: Muy bonita y especial. Aguas transparentes. Se puede hacer snorkel

Fantastic experience: Muy chula.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach.
Fantastic experience: A super beautiful and welcoming beach.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful, worth the detour
Negative experience: Overcrowded is an understatement, I don't know if we were in Benidorm or at a beach in Asturias. 0 recommended
Fantastic experience: We saw it from above, beautiful.
Fantastic experience: A spectacular beach, you have to walk a little and the climb is to muster some strength!! But it's worth it to go down and be there.
Fantastic experience: Great for kids!!! Time flies while catching fish, crabs, and limpets.. very calm and good vibes
Fantastic experience: Superb beach. Going there at mid-tide is really worth it!
Positive experience: Quiet beach but with strong tide
Positive experience: A small beach, there's hardly any space, it has its charm but it didn't really excite me either.
Fantastic experience: There is a parking lot and a beach bar next to it, you have to go down to the beach, it is not monitored and it is not big... be careful with the tide
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, peaceful, fine and very clean sand. Incredible views. There is a shower to rinse off the salt and sand afterwards.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach to enjoy these pleasant summer days with unmatched views.
Fantastic experience: A different beach, the islet causes the waves to divide and creates a tide against another. The access is good.

Fantastic experience: The slope to go down and up is super quiet. It's worth it. The only thing is they don't have lifeguards.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular beach as long as you don't want to swim, ideal for going with children when the tide is low, they enjoy climbing on the rocks and seeing crabs, hermit crabs, etc.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, very pleasant environment to relax.
Positive experience: Special beach in a beautiful bay.
Fantastic experience: Simply SPECTACULAR
Fantastic experience: When the tide is low, it is a beach with two plateaus from which you can access the islet. At high tide, you can see how the waves coming from both sides crash against each other.
Negative experience: Don't be fooled by the photos. It's cloudy or raining 350 days a year. In two weeks in Cantabria, I only saw the sun one morning.
Negative experience: There are better ones, difficult access with a steep ramp. Many stones and no surveillance.
Fantastic experience: Much better than stopping at the gas stations in Unquera and just 3 km from them.
Fantastic experience: Wild beach.
Fantastic experience: beautiful romantic beach. At low tide, the beach merges with the island.
Fantastic experience: A fantastic beach to enjoy in tranquility and with few people. It is very special to see the sea on both sides of the beach.
Negative experience: Beautiful beach but very steep to access, and somewhat dangerous due to tides and currents. In my opinion, it's only suitable for water sports enthusiasts or bathers who know the cove.
Positive experience: A small but charming beach. The access is easy by descending a concrete path from the parking lot located about 300m away. Although beautiful in any case, it is worth paying attention to the tides, as at high tide only a narrow strip of pebbles remains free. The bottom is sandy and at low tide the beautiful sand isthmus connecting to the rock in front is visible.
Positive experience: Beautiful beach with two wave faces
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful! Spectacular views. With the sea facing the island in the middle.
Fantastic experience: I live in Cantabria and had never been to this beach before, and it left me speechless. It's a little paradise. I recommend going at low tide. The path down is a bit steep, so wear comfortable shoes.
Fantastic experience: We really liked it!!!! Good sand, peaceful, and with beautiful water. There is parking nearby and you have to go down a slope to reach it. It has showers and a beach bar nearby.
Fantastic experience: Great beach for walking during low tide. Access might be a bit difficult for people with limitations. The surroundings are magnificent.
Fantastic experience: Wonderfull beach, it gets bigger when the sea is in outflow and you can go to rocks which normally are under the water probably.
Fantastic experience: Paradise beach! When the high tide is on the sandy beach part is completely flooded (see the images). Recommended to visit at low tide. The beach feels quite remote, but still has showers and easy entrance.
Positive experience: Nice beach when the tide is out, but when its in there is no beach. Looking at the shape of the bay and the rocks that lie under the surface, its a place to swim with caution. Looking at the temporary car parks that appear for August (3 euros), I would avoid the beach here in that month.
Positive experience: Busy at high tide but beautiful and relaxed.
Fantastic experience: Really beautiful beach, one of the best beaches I've been to
Positive experience: Stunning place. Really interesting aspect where the two seas meet. Great fun and lovely sand. Way in was quite steep in places.
Positive experience: Beautiful in the morning and low tide
