Son Saura is a stunning beach renowned for its fine white sand and crystal-clear waters, making it an ideal spot for families and children. The beach is easily accessible, with ample parking nearby, although it is essential to arrive early, especially during peak season, to secure a spot.

However, some concerns have been raised:

In summary, Son Saura is a beautiful beach worth visiting but requires careful planning to avoid crowds and manage the presence of algae and wasps.

Positive experience: It’s a bit of a tricky drive to get to the parking lot but it’s worth it! The water and the sand is absolutely pristine and it’s perfect for swimming. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy when we were there but a lot of people were still having a great time.
Fantastic experience: Nice spot, not crowded!! Pristine water. We realized that all spanish beaches are topless!!! I have done many beaches around thé globe but this is a 1st!! Ok t'a been 30 years that i had not seen topless girls!!! And some beaches have a naturiste section.....and all this is natural!!! The access to the beach is easy and 2 MNS to the beach!!
Negative experience: After paying the "Tasa Turistica" you'd expect much better services! Instead of improving the parking facilities, signs on the road or the online info, the town hall prefers to pay staff to just close the accesses to beaches leaving literally hundreds of angry visitors to turn back. It's a problem that is not being addressed in a permanent way. Its also an insult to all who love this island and return year after year.
Fantastic experience: Mainly clothed but hand full of naturist on second part of beach from car park.
Fantastic experience: A bit of walking to access the busy large beaches.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend one of the best sandy beaches at menorca
Fantastic experience: Here you will find fine white sand, crystal clear waters, and a wide and large beach. You can rent hammocks, umbrellas, and kayaks. In the nearby development, there are bars, restaurants, and accommodations. The parking is also just a few meters away.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful expanse of sand and blue sea. Beach free of seaweed unlike the other coves of the island during the hottest periods.
Fantastic experience: Cove with some sand. Very family-friendly.

Positive experience: Beach in a good location. With several restaurants around.
Fantastic experience: We went in early June, arrived at 10:30 am, the route is well located, there was plenty of space in the parking lot, easy access if you're going with children, there's a beach bar nearby, and the beach is beautiful, the water is cool but worth it, it's BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Menorca for giving us these places.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended, whether you're heading to Cala Turqueta and its parking is full or staying here all day (Bellavista beach). Crystal clear water that is very calm and without waves. From this beach, you can walk to Cala des Talaier and Cala Turqueta. Bring food because you won't find beach bars, but there are bathrooms.
Positive experience: As you drive to this location, you should see indications whether it is closed (too many people) or not. There are 2-3 other beaches in the area that indicate the same. If you are able to visit this place, there is a 10 minute walk from the parking area. The beach is long but very narrow. There isn't any 'chiringuito,' so pack in snacks/drinks.

Positive experience: Beautiful beach characterized by fine sand and crystal-clear sea. However, the sea and beach are marked by the presence of many seaweeds that spoil the setting a bit, and there are little fish in the sea that bite you (feels like a pinch). There is also a shaded wooded area close to the beach where you can stay to protect yourself from the sun and heat. Like almost all beaches, it is not equipped at all, except for chemical toilets and trash bins. There is also a lifeguard who ensures safety. The parking is about fifteen minutes away on foot. It can also be reached by bike (only Mountain Bike) via the Camì de Cavalls.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, very wide sandy beach with crystal clear water and ample parking.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and wild beach with crystal clear waters. If you want to find parking, you need to arrive early in the morning.

Fantastic experience: Il y a 2 plages juxtaposées.

Negative experience: Beach easily accessible from the parking lot, completely full of seaweed on the beach and made of sand mixed with rocky cliffs. Ideal only for starting with SUP and kayak.
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite beaches. It’s quiet in September, I felt comfortable not having as many people around as usual in July and August. You can relax 100%
Positive experience: It’s a bit of a tricky drive to get to the parking lot but it’s worth it! The water and the sand is absolutely pristine and it’s perfect for swimming. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy when we were there but a lot of people were still having a great time.

Fantastic experience: Mainly clothed but hand full of naturist on second part of beach from car park.
Positive experience: Nice beach but lots of nudist Also seaweed very present
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend one of the best sandy beaches at menorca
Fantastic experience: I'M IMPRESSIVE !!!!!
Fantastic experience: A very beautiful beach that is peaceful with turquoise blue waters.
Fantastic experience: I hold weddings at this cove, it's like a fantasy, a dream come true. Couples leave delighted to have experienced this.
Fantastic experience: A bit of walking to access the busy large beaches.
Fantastic experience: Here you will find fine white sand, crystal clear waters, and a wide and large beach. You can rent hammocks, umbrellas, and kayaks. In the nearby development, there are bars, restaurants, and accommodations. The parking is also just a few meters away.
Fantastic experience: Quiet beach, parking nearby
Positive experience: Beach in a good location. With several restaurants around.
Positive experience: Crowded cove. Another option to enjoy these beaches is by boat or at one's own choice.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful expanse of sand and blue sea. Beach free of seaweed unlike the other coves of the island during the hottest periods.
Fantastic experience: Amazing
Fantastic experience: Cove with some sand. Very family-friendly.
Fantastic experience: I have been there twice, the second time to reach Cala Turqueta on foot given that the parking was full at that location (a beautiful but tiring experience given the distance). It's a shame because at the end of July it was quite full of seaweed and posidonia, but the place is beautiful and the sea, despite everything, is very rewarding... very spacious with an adjacent pine forest, it is definitely worth a visit. Ample parking.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, very wide sandy beach with crystal clear water and ample parking.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular, very well-maintained beaches and surrounded by nature.❣️
Positive experience: Due to the many positive reviews, we decided to go to this beach. An important note: the beach is sometimes closed because it is busy and there is no parking available. One tip from someone was to go early or take the bus from Ciutadella, and that was our plan. Unfortunately, we arrived at 9:00 AM and the road was already closed because the parking lot was full. I asked a person who seemed to work for the municipality if the bus was running, and he said it didn’t run on Sundays. So unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the beach. Maybe another time. (This was in August, during the peak season). In the end, we went to another beach.
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite beaches, you can reach Es Tslaerr (absolutely not to be missed)
Fantastic experience: Beautiful and wild beach with crystal clear waters. If you want to find parking, you need to arrive early in the morning.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach with white sand and boats in the bay
Negative experience: A crowded beach filled with seaweed, Menorca is a disappointment. They restrict parking access but allow boats and ships in without control. Buses full of people; in total, the beach ends up packed, and it's not worth going early either. It's better to go to other beaches in the north.
Fantastic experience: A very beautiful and quiet place to relax on the beach. You need to go early to avoid the parking lot getting full (before 9:30 to avoid surprises). The parking is next to the first beach, easy access with children, and you need to go quite far in for it to be deep.
Positive experience: Very close to the parking but full of seaweed
Negative experience: Carina has a lot of seaweed.
Fantastic experience: Crystal clear sea, wonderful place! I recommend going there.
Fantastic experience: Ideal beach for children, calm, warm, and clear waters
Negative experience: Visited yesterday... sea very choppy at this time... but even without the waves, it wouldn’t have lived up to my expectations... due to jellyfish and dirty waters with the beach full of seaweed... My advice, don’t go there at this moment... it’s not worth it!!
Negative experience: We were supposed to go to Macarella beach but we found out that you can only get there by bus, so we opted for Son Saura without reading any reviews. There is free parking, and after a short walk, you arrive at a beach overflowing with posidonia. The sea is also full of posidonia. The sand would be white if it weren't almost completely covered with posidonia. We tried to reach the next small cove, but that one is also full of posidonia. Yesterday, the water was very cold.
Positive experience: A very good experience. I only don't give 5 because the beach this year has no sand, due to the winter. A lot of rocks and entering the water is very difficult.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with clear, turquoise water! The sand is very fine and white. To get a parking spot, you have to arrive early. We were there at 09:30 AM. Currently, there are many algae and jellyfish in the water at the beach. At times, the beach was very crowded. We still really enjoyed it, as the beach is truly particularly beautiful.
Positive experience: Today the access road was closed at 11 am, we couldn't even reach the parking lot.
Positive experience: At the beginning of July at 10:15 AM, the parking was full. They no longer let people in.
Fantastic experience: Really beautiful beach with parking and a good starting point to walk the ruta litoral or cami de cavalls to Cala Turqueta or Macarella (Macarella is far but doable if you want to walk to a bar).
Negative experience: We have taken the route from Son Saura to Cala Turqueta. We found it very advisable, it takes about half an hour. Unfortunately, both the sandy beach of Son Saura and the beach of Buenavista were overflowing with seaweed and we couldn't enjoy them. Lastly, it is worth noting that at these beaches next to Turqueta, there are boats that land a large number of tourists, which overwhelm the beach for a few hours. I believe that this type of tourism is not appropriate.
Fantastic experience: Caribbean waters (when we went there were quite a few seaweeds, but you are close to Cala Kiani at about 4 minutes and Des Talaier)
Fantastic experience: If you want to access, you have to get up quite early. By 8:30 it was almost full, we did Son Saura-Cala Turqueta and it takes about 45 minutes, I recommend suitable footwear as there are many stones on the path.
Fantastic experience: Amazing beach, low water for kids. Car park is full from 9:30 .. every day. Go for 8:30 to make sure you get in.
Negative experience: Full of algae at the beginning of July, although the algae does not smell badly like in the Caribbean, it does bother as it takes so much space on the beach. Some people kept walking, we turned around and went somewhere else.
Fantastic experience: It's great. Second half of July - we woke up quite early - and at 9:12 AM we were parking without any problem. However, you have to wake up early, otherwise you won't find parking.
Positive experience: We went there when the sea was choppy and the sky was overcast, and despite that, the colors were amazing, so I imagine that on a sunny day with calm sea it is stunning. The four stars are for the beach, which had a bit too much posidonia and sea potatoes. In June, arrive by 9 AM, or you'll risk full parking.
Positive experience: We first went by boat and loved it, but the next day from the beach we didn't like it at all. Quite crowded, not much room for towels (there are quite a few rocks and seaweed), the water a bit murky and dirty (seaweed and plastics). From the parking lot, you have to walk 5 minutes to reach the beach.
Fantastic experience: Perfect waves!
Fantastic experience: Easy to access from the parking lot. Lovely white sand beach
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, plenty of space. Arrive early or the parking lot is full and you won't be allowed in.
Positive experience: From the photo, it looks nice, but I couldn't visit it because they had already closed access at 8:30.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach, access is fine.
Positive experience: Access to the beach is via a single road. Parking for cars is limited and managed by attendants. It's not worth trying your luck when the information signs indicate full access. The beach is full of seaweed, both in the water and on the sand. We visited on June 15.
Positive experience: This beautiful beach with turquoise waters is unfortunately not properly cleaned of seaweed and other marine vegetation that dries on the sand. It should be noted that there are some stones which reduce the space dedicated to the beach. Access is via a narrow road where passing is very difficult. You arrive at a parking lot and then you have to walk about 800 m to reach the beach.
Negative experience: Unfortunately, this beach with a vast sandy area is full of seaweed that is not cleaned and is causing a bad smell and taking up space. The beach is a 5-minute walk from the parking lot. Further ahead is Bella Vista beach, which is similar to Son Saura, but is also full of seaweed. If you walk for about 15 minutes, you will reach Cala Es Talaier, which is super beautiful and fills up around 11. It should be noted that to enter Son Saura, you can only do so until 10 in the morning or after 6 in the afternoon. Although the person in charge says it is possible to enter between 1:00 and 3:00 PM, we tried to enter while cars were leaving, and we were not allowed in.
Fantastic experience: Very nice!! Recommended
Fantastic experience: I loved it, it's super beautiful
Negative experience: A lot of seaweed smell and the water is full of seaweed and dry leaves. There is a lot of space and a lot of sand.
Negative experience: What has happened to this beach? We were here 5 years ago and it was paradise; we returned today very excited to go back to that virgin beach with crystal clear turquoise waters and white sand covered in dry seaweed, and the water has turned black from so much seaweed inside... What a disappointment.
Positive experience: Spacious Arenal, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Some seaweed, but in specific areas.
Fantastic experience: Posidonia gives the water a sluggish feel.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful sandy beach
Fantastic experience: Incredibly beautiful beach! On the day we went, the sea was calm and at a great temperature. Some seaweed on the shore that doesn’t hinder swimming. Parking next to it, easy access. Worth the visit.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful and large beach with white sand. It feels like being in the Pacific.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with crystal clear waters. Very spacious and easily accessible.
Positive experience: Pretty beach, accessible in 5 minutes from the parking lot. Not many seaweeds on the sand in early April 2024.
Fantastic experience: Spectacular
Fantastic experience: An excellent beach in the area, without a doubt. It has parking very close to the beach, but with capacity restrictions, so we recommend arriving early. It has a bike lane and walking paths with a moderate difficulty level.
Fantastic experience: The charm of this place lies in the combination of beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea, and the surrounding nature. An ideal spot for a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There's a lack of infrastructure, so if you plan to go, take water and food with you.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach, very large with a nice walkway
Fantastic experience: A very white sand and crystal clear waters. Very suitable for families and young children as the ground slopes gently. Even in early June it was very crowded. An idea for a hike, we left from Cala en Bosc to Cala Macarella, 3 and a half hours of walking, a real delight, apart from its beauty, there are plenty of very beautiful places to swim.
Positive experience: Strong smell of rotting seaweed
Positive experience: Beautiful site Narrow beach Shallow waters
Positive experience: A bit too many seaweeds but very beautiful
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and super clean water. Warm water at the beginning of October.
Positive experience: I didn't find the place extraordinary. There are a lot of people, a lot of seaweed too with the smells that come with it... and the place is not fantastic. A nice beach is all...
Fantastic experience: Location with a fantastic, untouched beach, with no vendors, but with amazing beauty, Bela Vista beach. We arrived by boat, simply fabulous. A swimming pool!!! Shallow water for meters and meters. The beach is quite narrow and gets very crowded when the boats come down for tourists to swim. A row of anchored boats very close to the other side of the bay. You can also come on foot, but it seems almost impossible to park. For me, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I highly recommend a visit. Excellent.
Fantastic experience: Great beach, with a large parking area. Very nice for swimming or watching the fish.
Fantastic experience: Very large beach. I recommend going early because the parking spots are limited, and there are guards blocking the road in case the parking is full. In that case, you can't wait in front and have to take the quite enclosed road back for several kilometers and then turn around when you can, going back as many times as necessary until you can get in. (Finally) arrived at the parking, there isn't much walking to do. About 5 minutes I would say. The beach is really beautiful. There were no jellyfish!
Fantastic experience: Speechless...wonders of nature
Fantastic experience: Ample parking, so you can reach the beach at a reasonable hour without much stress. The beach is stunning with crystal-clear shallow waters. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Ideal for kids but we happened to have a day with jellyfish. Crystal clear waters. The parking is large and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the beach. A must-visit if you go to Menorca.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful bay with magnificent beaches
Fantastic experience: Incredibly beautiful and well worth visiting as an alternative to Turqueta. It has more space and is just as beautiful. Definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: Ideal
Negative experience: Speechless...
Fantastic experience: Wonderful beautiful beach, clean, fine sand, a must-visit.
Negative experience: Lots of seagrass on the beach, not possible to bath comfortably, need to go to a beach nearby.
Fantastic experience: Great, there are no crowds, clean water with a pink stripe. Family-friendly!!
Positive experience: Be careful not to confuse it with the beach of Bellavista. There are only rocks.
Positive experience: Lovely beach but a bloody long walk from Cal'n Bosch.
Positive experience: Wild beach, white sand, crystal clear water, this part of the beach is more exposed to the southeast wind, and today that we were there there was no one due to the rough seas and full of seaweed.
Positive experience: Wide beach, scenically suggestive, where you don't feel overcrowded, but as for the sea it didn’t excite me. The seabed is very shallow for several meters from the shore and at times it gave a muddy feeling, also the color is a yellowish-greenish, in fact, I preferred to return to dive further out from the boat.
Negative experience: At Son Saura beach, it is impossible to stay because it is full of seaweed on the shore, but after a few minutes you reach Bellavista beach, which is worth it.
Positive experience: The beach is truly magnificent. Turquoise water, white sand beach. However, there are several things to know: - Get to the beach before 8:30 AM if you want to have parking space during high season. Otherwise, you will have to turn back. The advantage of this constraint is that the beach is not overcrowded. - On the other hand, the presence of wasps is unbearable! Invasion! Don't even think about eating on the beach. A major downside to this idyllic place.
Negative experience: Beach easily accessible from the parking lot, completely full of seaweed on the beach and made of sand mixed with rocky cliffs. Ideal only for starting with SUP and kayak.
Fantastic experience: A place with a fantastic, untouched beach, without any vendors, but with incredible beauty, Praia da Bela Vista.
Positive experience: Beach with clear sand and transparent water. Many algae in the surrounding area with some agitation in the waters. The space for towels is short. It's worth visiting. The access from the parking is quick (5min).
Positive experience: After walking 7 km along narrow paths lined with stones, we arrived at the parking lot and then followed the trail through the trees for another 5-10 minutes until we reached the crescent-shaped beach with fine, light-colored sand. On the day we went, it was very windy and there was a yellow flag, but it was still possible to swim.
