Information

Playa San Nicolás Del Puerto is an artificial river beach located in the beautiful Sierra Norte of Sevilla, offering a unique experience for visitors looking for a refreshing getaway. The atmosphere is generally described as tranquil and family-friendly, making it an ideal spot for a day outdoors.

Notable features include:

  • Great environment to relax and enjoy nature.
  • Easy access to various chiringuitos (snack bars) that serve food and drinks.
  • The presence of a Roman bridge, adding historical charm to the surroundings.
  • Facilities such as showers and lifeguard services during peak hours.
  • Parks with greenery and picnic areas further enhance the locale.
  • While the water can sometimes be murky, it is typically refreshing for a swim.

However, there are important considerations to note:

  • Visitors are advised to wear splash shoes due to the slippery and algae-covered entrance to the water.
  • Limited shade in the bathing area can make it uncomfortable during hot summer days.
  • Parking in the area incurs a fee, especially on weekends.
  • Some users have reported that cleanliness of the water could be improved.
  • Highly attended on weekends, which can lead to a crowded experience.

In summary, Playa San Nicolás Del Puerto offers a refreshing retreat and pleasant environment for family outings, though some aspects such as water quality and crowds should be kept in mind before your visit.

Positive experience: Artificial river beach located in the Sevillian town of San Nicolás del Puerto in the Sierra Norte of Seville. In summer, dams hold back the water of the Galindo River. In its surroundings, you can bathe next to a Roman bridge. I recommend using water shoes because there is a lot of algae, and you can slip when entering the water, although there are handrails at certain distances. The water is not clear, rather murky... for cooling off and swimming under a Roman bridge, it's not bad... Lifeguard hours are from 12:00 to 20:00. There is a area with two beach bars that is paved and an area with vegetation and picnic areas, the latter being far from the urban center... There are showers next to one of the beach bars. In the surroundings, there is blue zone parking...

Positive experience: It's not bad for a refreshing dip, the place is nice but there is a big drawback, and that is that there is very little shade in the area where there is more water. The ground up to the water is pure concrete and it is quite uncomfortable.

Positive experience: The place itself is very nice and you can eat well at the beach bar. In the water, it was very slippery and there was a lot of algae; I recommend that anyone who goes wear water shoes to avoid slipping.

Positive experience: With the drought that devours us, the little beach is a swamp; in bygone times it was very nice. The restaurant is decent.

Jorge Risoto Guerrero 3 years ago

Antonio Jose (Antoniojos3) 4 years ago

Negative experience: As of today (mid-May 2024), swimming in the river beach is not possible (there is hardly any water and it's extremely dirty...and dangerous; if you slip on the amount of slime present, you are sure to break a bone).
