Peñiscola Beach

Fantastic experience: What a lovely beach. We are used to big waves in the pacific but the calm consistent lapping of baby waves and shallow waters were warm and clear. The sand is soft and despite the amount of people a perfect beach day. We stayed in the castle walls which you CANNOT drive through, so you have to find parking in the lots and surrounding areas. Great restaurants along the beach! Lifeguards. Safe. Beach chairs and rentals. Paddle boards.

Fantastic experience: Being at a beautiful beach, playing in the sand, while having an ancient castle by your side is just breathtaking. There’s many activities to do like renting a paddle board, jet ski, boat tours and great places to eat all budgets. A must in the Valencian Community

Fantastic experience: Superb beach in all places! A perfect place for families to go for a day out or more. The beach also has views of the old town and Peñíscola Castle Good bars and restaurants a stone throw away. The ocean floor is extremely clear as the sand on this side becomes solidified and feels very solid and comfortable to walk on. You can see small/medium sized fish swimming amongst your feet and it feels really peaceful. So good I'd recommend going to this beautiful town even if it was just for the beach, although the town is amazing.

Fantastic experience: I loved the beach of Peñíscola. Spacious, with all services and perfect for families. Additionally, the promenade is very pleasant for walking, from Peñíscola to Benicarlo.

Positive experience: Beautiful beachfront promenade. And especially in the off-season (November) it's not so crowded. Dogs are allowed on the beach sometimes but are still not permitted. And waste must ALWAYS be removed, no matter where. Those who cannot do this should not have dogs. I am a dog owner and for me, this is a given. Just like taking your trash back with you and not leaving it behind. You can walk beautifully for kilometers along the beach here. The Peniscola sign with the old town in the background is a photo hotspot. For children, there are always small playgrounds or climbing frames right by the beach.

Positive experience: The beach promenade is fundamentally great. Beautiful beaches, good cafes, and the opportunity to walk and jog along it. Unfortunately, there are some incorrigibles who, despite signs prohibiting it, ride bicycles and scooters in the pedestrian area, which constantly creates dangerous situations and accidents are preprogrammed. I would wish that action would be taken against these people. Besides, it's an easy way to fill the city's coffers.

Negative experience: It is absolutely off-season, the beach feels empty and I have never experienced being approached because the dog is running by the water... and no, there was no sign at our entrance... nope, nothing for dog lovers

Positive experience: Beach near the center is nice but crowded. It's better to go towards Bernicola, much less crowded especially in September and the beaches are beautiful. The beach by the port should be avoided, the sand looks like mud and wastewater spills onto the sand when it rains.

Fantastic experience: Good beach, although the cleanliness should be better regulated in the area closest to the castle since people are so lazy that they leave all the cigarette butts, caps, and other trash buried there.

Fantastic experience: Super wide, clean, and quiet beach. Beautiful views of the castle. Lots of life around: souvenirs, ice cream shops, cafes, restaurants....etc. It is a very worth seeing area, pure Mediterranean, mountains just a few kilometers away, an hour from Valencia (international airport), rich in local cuisine due to its seafood and garden products.

Positive experience: The only bad thing is that smoking is allowed, despite the number of children around. Plus, the inconsiderate smokers who tend to leave cigarette butts everywhere and just ignore everything.

Positive experience: Family beach with good services. Parking is problematic. A visit to the town is a must, one of the prettiest in Castellón.

Positive experience: The beach is very beautiful, with showers (which is appreciated) a lot of people, there is nowhere to park (blue zone, paid parking)

Fantastic experience: Beautiful views of and from the walled city.

Positive experience: At first, it is good, but compared to other beaches, there are small stones in the sand, and in the sea as well. It is crowded. Difficult to park, and on top of that, everything is a blue zone - the price is 4.70 for 3 hours! The good thing is that it is full of restaurants, Chinese shops, ice cream parlors, fruit stands, and small businesses.

Positive experience: Playa larga , con arena fina, limpia el agua pero mucha gente junta, zona del castillo digno de ver, con calles estrechas, lo recomiendo

Positive experience: La playa esta bien, la Arena Es Fina y para los niños es ideal el problema mas grande es la zona azul, es imposible estar sin que te cueste un dineral (4 euros por 2 horas) por lo que estar en la playa al final es un estres de estar pendiente del reloj. No la recomiendo a menos que vengas en Transporte publico

Fantastic experience: Everything is super beautiful. The castle and the beach are lovely. It's perfect for kids with fine sand and clean water.

Positive experience: A beautiful beach in one of the towns considered the prettiest in Spain, it has a large promenade with plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as bars, ice cream parlors, etc. A great place to stroll and spend the day admiring its great castle, the old town, and if you go with kids, there is a mini theme park that even has a maze, making Peñiscola an ideal place to spend a great day with the family.

Fantastic experience: The beach is fantastic and very large. The views towards the castle make it even better and its boardwalk is beautiful at night and at sunset. It is one of the prettiest towns in Spain, without any doubt.

Positive experience: At the edge of the modern city and the ancient town topped by its Castle surrounded by ramparts, you immediately have your feet in the sand! Be careful, it's burning in the middle of the day! A lot of people. But it is very long, between Peniscola and Benicarló. You can settle for free or rent beach loungers and umbrellas (not always nice or responsive, the guys who take care of it near the tourist office: I was treated very poorly this summer, even though I've been coming for years! So I gave up...). The sea, shallow for a long time, allows families to splash around with the younger ones. Just be careful with the pedal boats, coming in and out right in the middle of the bathers... Personally, a beach I like!

Fantastic experience: Hello, I find the beach in Peniscola beautiful. It's nice long and wide. Right now in November, I think it's beautiful here because you almost have the whole beach to yourself. The water temperature is still great. I will also spend a few days in Peniscola next year. Best regards Frank Koop

Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with both free and equipped areas. Fine golden sand with a view of the ancient city of Peníscola. Foot showers and free showers available for everyone. From this beach, you can also enjoy a fantastic sunrise. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Very good beach, long, flat, sandy, wide, with a lot of leisure activities along the promenade and a lot of life. However, parking is impossible unless you leave it in a private parking lot, and let me tell you, they are not cheap. From the castle, you can see the full magnitude of the beach.

Positive experience: Good beach with all services, although a bit uncomfortable to walk along the shore due to seaweed and stones, and very long (about 5 km)

Positive experience: Spectacular place, but towards the center along the promenade, you find it full of vendors; at least it was like that today. It is a shame they shouldn't allow it. People shouldn't support that; letting them sell is a good way for it to eventually end, as it seems that since it's illegal, there is no authority to impose it.

Fantastic experience: Very nice, fine sand and good water temperature. We went in September and it was quite spacious, there were people but not excessively. There are showers, trash bins, and foot showers at all entrances. There is plenty of parking, although the entire street is blue zone, 4h, €3.80 all year round. There is also paid parking at the end of the street.

Fantastic experience: I have stayed in this town several times, I have several attractions from it however I don't have any from the beach. Fine sand, clean water with a good temperature, very clean promenade and above all the views of the Castle.

Fantastic experience: Big surfaced beach with a great view, I had the misfortune of finding jellyfishes, however it was not a dangerous type. The water is clean, the sand is not rough and the temperature is perfect in the summer. It is close to restaurants and hotels, and it has an easy access. It is also worth visiting at night as the castle reflects on the water beautifully.

Fantastic experience: Nice, clean beach with an amazing views. Near to the city center, restaurants and hotels. You can find showers here. Highly recommended to anyone - families, couples, friends. You can spend all day here because near to the beach you can find a lot of restaurants.

Fantastic experience: This is a quiet beach in the city. It commands nice views of the beach, the houses near it and the old city up a hill. There is a monument of Papa Luna (Benedict XIII, the anti pope) up the hill. We enjoyed the small gift shops as well as the small beach restaurants near it.

Fantastic experience: One of the best beaches I had been in south of Spain. Not so many turists and it’s clean. The water temperature is amazing. Coffee around have a fair price. They have showers if you need it.
