Positive experience: Nice place to park up and walk along the promenade with views of the old town and castle.
Negative experience: The beach is very nice, but the promenade gets crowded at night with immigrants selling items on blankets, making it impossible to walk there. It's incredible how a place as charming as Peñíscola allows the little space on the northern beach promenade to be occupied two-thirds by these vendors. I don't consider myself a racist, but this is too much. They harm local businesses and prevent a peaceful stroll in the area. I even doubt that the police are unaware of them, and I'm surprised they allow it. I've been spending summers in Peñíscola for many years, and I had never seen anything like this tonight. If there weren't about 50 spots filled with immigrants selling all kinds of counterfeit goods, there were none. I won't be the one to walk there again, as you can't move without bumping into someone.

Positive experience: Playa normal.

Fantastic experience: It stretches for about 5 kilometers, offering spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and the famous Peñíscola Castle. The beach is known for its fine golden sand, clear waters, and excellent facilities, making it an ideal destination for families and tourists. The promenade is filled with restaurants, cafes, and shops, creating a lively atmosphere. It is a perfect place to enjoy water sports such as windsurfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Although it is very crowded in summer, in the low season it offers a peaceful environment to relax.
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite beaches, Peñiscola... Family beach, calm and fine sand...
Positive experience: The iconic beach of Peniscola, wide, long, gentle, and sandy.
Positive experience: It's fine, but I would love for the artificial sand to be thicker (it bothers me when it gets under the nail and is difficult to remove).
Positive experience: Long beach between sea and commerce, it will delight you with its fine sand and the stunning view it offers of the Peñiscola citadel.

Espacio suficiente.

Fantastic experience: Un lugar tranquilo y familiar.

Negative experience: This is the dirtiest sea I've ever seen. The water is so contaminated. If you are planning to swim, it is the worst place ever.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful clean beach with a wonderful view. The castle on the right, mountains on the left. You can walk far into the sea as it doesn't get deep quickly.

Positive experience: We really liked it! Clean beach, quite large and the water very clear.
Fantastic experience: We came here with our rented car (an hour drive) from Valencia, recommended by our hotel. The beach is really beautiful, far better than Malvarossa in Valencia. Playa Norte is mostly free, but also has parts to rent sunbeds and umbrellas for a reasonable price. Numerous drinking and dining options just across the beach road. The hilltop picturesque old town of Peniscola adds to its beauty.

North Beach: Reviews

Fantastic experience: Peñíscola!!! Just my second home
Fantastic experience: Excellent beach. Clean and sandy shore.

Positive experience: I would like to leave this image. Starting from the Gran Peliscola Hotel, the beach is disappearing. When they started to build it, leaving the first foundations of what is now the beach, the first one has already appeared (marked with a buoy) and the different layers of aggregates are visible today. I hope there is a plan; otherwise, the shore will reach the doors of the accommodations.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful views

Fantastic experience: Nice beach, not overcrowded
Fantastic experience: There are still people who manage to complain because there are waves on the beaches... People are crazy...
Positive experience: We really liked it! Clean beach, quite large and the water very clear.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach and place

Fantastic experience: One of my favorite beaches, Peñiscola... Family beach, calm and fine sand...
Positive experience: Quiet beach Further away from the city center Not monitored Next to the port Average cleanliness
Fantastic experience: The best beach❤️
Fantastic experience: Being so long, it doesn't get overcrowded. The beach is very beautiful, the water is crystal clear, and it's super pleasant.
Fantastic experience: Beach, very long and very wide, with many lifeguard posts, monitoring and plenty of gastronomic offerings, apartments and hotels. The beach has views of the Peñíscola castle.
Positive experience: Very nice site with a rather pleasant beach, especially in the northern part where there is less crowding during high season. However, one downside is that, while a greater effort has been made to maintain cleanliness along the promenade, we still encounter the pitfalls of this region: dirt with litter everywhere along the small roads in the orange groves... and a peak around the large containers that are present at many intersections, mattresses, furniture, rubble, and more... Friends who are sporty and hikers, good luck... and cyclists, make sure to bring spare inner tubes! In short, it's all about the tourist appearance. A comment can do better!
Fantastic experience: Amazing beach. You can drive along a large part of the beach. Definitely worth a visit. Very long and wide beach, full of people.
Fantastic experience: Nice to go with family
Positive experience: Awesome beach, but if you have to use the restroom!!! Luckily, the hospitality staff are very friendly.
Positive experience: The iconic beach of Peniscola, wide, long, gentle, and sandy.
Fantastic experience: paradise
Positive experience: It's fine, but I would love for the artificial sand to be thicker (it bothers me when it gets under the nail and is difficult to remove).
Fantastic experience: It's a great beach to go with kids, it's not deep and the views are perfect!!
Fantastic experience: So beautiful!!!
Positive experience: A very beautiful place and the beach is very clean, the location is good. We have been to Peniscola 16 times. Hotel Papa Luna Residensia is definitely worth it, come by sometime.
Fantastic experience: Very beautiful beach! With views of the Papa Luna castle!
Fantastic experience: A very large beach because it is wide and very long with a promenade and a wide range of hospitality and shops of all kinds.
Positive experience: Long beach between sea and commerce, it will delight you with its fine sand and the stunning view it offers of the Peñiscola citadel.
Positive experience: Very large beach. You almost have to go to the horizon for it to cover, it’s very curious. It was very nice. Quiet at least when we were there.
Fantastic experience: I love this beach
Fantastic experience: Very clean beach with good services
Fantastic experience: This beach is quintessentially the beach of Peñiscola. With an approximate length of over 5,000 meters and an average width of 44, it alternates between sandy areas (3 km) and pebbles at the farthest point from the city. It stretches from the foot of the Castle, along the Avda del Papa Luna until it reaches the neighboring town of Benicarló. A beach of fine sand, clear and calm waters. It offers a lot of quality services for which they renew the corresponding certificates annually. Every time I visit this beach, I think of the movie 'El Cid' that was filmed in this location. What a difference from the present to when the movie was filmed.
Positive experience: Very good beach
Positive experience: The area where the name is located is very beautiful. The bad thing is the amount of people there are for taking pictures. You can't get a photo of the whole name without anyone in front.
Positive experience: Even on weekdays it is very crowded
Fantastic experience: It was really nice there, we will go back tomorrow, it's worth it, you have to see it.
Positive experience: The north beach is beautiful. With a view of the castle... sandy beach. But there are regular announcements over the microphone about the prohibition of putting up your umbrella and chair to reserve a spot... no interest, no one does anything!!! Their announcements are nonsense... The same in the evening, the 'paseo' is flooded with sellers who push copies on us... prohibition signs everywhere!! And not a single policeman...
Negative experience: It's full of stones.
Positive experience: A quiet and family-friendly beach
Positive experience: Very cool.
Positive experience: Good beach, very spacious. But more public restrooms are needed.
Negative experience: The beach is very dirty, with oil puddles forming just a few meters from the shore. The absence of fish and the excess of jellyfish is an indicator of what you will find at this beach.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful views of the Pope Luna Castle. Open sea. Very elongated. With canopies and chairs to rent.
Fantastic experience: Very quiet beach to spend the afternoon. Beautiful views of the Pope Luna castle, wide promenade with plenty of dining options, calm waters with very little wave. Few stones (only when entering the sea). Freshwater showers for feet. Highly recommended for visiting with children.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful beach with a great view of the castle. The beach tends to get busier later in the day. You can find many chairs and umbrellas to rent for a reasonable price. The sidewalk in front on the beach also offers plenty of cafes, bars and supermarkets
Fantastic experience: A pretty beach in a pretty town. North Beach of Peniscola is long, clean, and beautiful. Located on the coast of Mediterranean, Peniscola is a fabulous historic town with a medieval castle. Great holiday destination. A few photos.
